Thank you IMSA Official for uploading this epic endurance race! Since the NBC/Peacock coverage has become so horrible with more commercial breaks than racing and commentators that cater to the NASCAR crowd more than IMSA, it isn't enjoyable to watch on those networks any more. Seeing the race with knowledgeable IMSA commentators and full coverage is what we all wait for. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
For real. All the NBC commercials are the worst. Totally takes you out of the race. One or two an hour would be acceptable, but it’s every 5-10 minutes and the commercials last for 5 minutes. They even make you watch ads on the replays on peacock! WTF?!
It’s refreshing to watch a sport where to commentators just talk about the sport and leave out other issues of the world. I’ve learned more watching this and wec than I did for years watching NASCAR. Greatly appreciate the content 😊
@@RSDGDriftTeam88 What's so funny? The LMP3's look slow compared to the other prototypes and the drivers aren't the best but the cars themselves sound good.
@@Dethmeister Si pour toi ces voitures affreuse et inutile sonne bien tans mieux pour toi. J'aime les V8 mais pas ceux qui sont dans ces voitures, ca ressort très mal. I'd say a fitting ending to 12 hours of madness. Sebring seems to bring out the worst in drivers, and it usually rewards those who rise above all that, but this race just chewed the entire GTP class to pieces. (Spoiler follows) I love the Whelen team, always been a fan, and I'm happy for them, especially Pipo, but did they really win this race or were they spared by freakish chance?
I found myself writing off the chances for some of the GTP entrants, only to see those very same cars storm back into contention an hour or two later. It's really awesome to see how robust these machines are and how their performance envelope shifts throughout the race as the conditions change. Despite the late race cautionfest, it's another absolute classic from the Sebring 12H here.
Amazing race. Been glued to the whole thing. Fantastic coverage and close racing right to the end. So happy for the winners, don’t want to spoil it but Im so happy for JA
4:03:30 "Energy Probe"is a perfect word for the new use of the fuel hose (I'm gonna use that as well from now on). And I love that she stood up for it after the "it's nothing going in there". (And there is still fuel going in, just not the whole time for the minimum refueling time.)
Thank you all for covering this race ! 5:57:19 Do think the Ferrari got the littlest of bumps from the prototype that couldn't slow down fast enough after the touché and that got both the GTD's spun in unison course of their own tussle.
Yeah, the Ferrari got knocked into the Corvette by the Porsche prototype that had just run the #10 Acura off the road. Then the Acura bounced back, out of control, and slammed into that same Porsche, only to get T-boned hard on the driver's side by the other Porsche. I think it's an amazing statement about the drivers in this series that they put Albuquerque and the Porsche driver in the back of the same medical vehicle after that. They are a family. I think the Porsche driver did something reckless that ended the race for several teams and could have really hurt Albuquerque bad, but they're a family, and they seem to talk to each other and sort things out like a family should. If this were NASCAR, of course fists and helmets would be thrown.
This was great. I can't for the next Win the Weekend episode covering the race. Even though their will probably be a lot of bleeps from team owners like Wayne Taylor after seeing the chance to win in the last 20mins evaporate in a instant.
A few months later, they led most of Le Mans, but still... They've got everything they need except a little luck to go their way! Excellent drivers, excellent crew, excellent cars, excellent team. It almost feels wrong to talk about them as the all woman team because they are an all-pro team. Much love! Go Dames!
@beenaplumber8379 in every race I've seen them compete in, they're absolutely top class. To go from the Porsche in the WEC race and into a lambo for IMSA in the same weekend, and still remain consistent, let alone competitive, takes an immense amout of talent. Drivers and team are an inspiration for many.
The final restart @6:06:25 Can somebody explain why the leader was starting so early? Or the BMW wasnt paying attention? What happened... it was already done at this point
When the safety car pulls away, the leader sets the speed for the rest of the field. They can go as fast as they like, but no one can pass them until the green flag is waved. He got the jump on the BMW. A HUGE jump. He had a faster car anyway. Had he not got the jump, he'd have pulled away more gradually.
The safety team needs more adequate lighting out there . Something Seabring safety officials should look into. Tow trucks with more LED lights, as well as the Flatbeds
At 8min Scottie Mc goes 1st LMP2, hands it over and it takes new tires, ...well driven SM. At 24 Min that car looked like a wreck, amazing recovery to win class.
They were at the back of their class because of a mechanical issue, right? A left rear damper? They weren't in contention for a podium when they got clobbered in the end. Is that what you were referring to? It really seemed like they had the winning car with the winning speed, but i9t wasn't their day.
I miss the crazy amount of led lighting the cars had on them last year. Why do the GTP BMW's only have one nostril lit up? I noticed that at Daytona too.
That interview just before the 1:00:00 mark: "A couple penalties where IMSA know they're wrong"? As in, they know they're wrong, but they did it anyway just to mess you up? It's okay to disagree with their judgement, but they're not out to get you, dude. Not a good look for Ryan Dalziel.
This has been bugging me for a long time, and I gotta get it out. (It's always the little things!) In a timed race, when half of the time has expired, announcers (not just Hindy) call it "half-distance". But it's not half-distance. It can never be half-distance. It can only be half-time. What gives? Does halftime sound too NFL?
The GT500 cars would be quicker than the GTP cars. What's the point though? There are 3 brands left in GT500 and I doubt any of those wants to do a whole season of IMSA.
"Going through the (literal) motions" of waving the "passing" flag at an IMSA race must be an exhausting task: once the classes overlap, it's incessant.
4:56:45 What does IMSA thinks is going to happen when you have cars moving at 150+ MPH on an Poorly Lit Track?????? Just pure Suicide and this should have been long ago situated with Temporary Lights for night racing!
The crash had nothing to do with the darkness though, he simply lost it. There are also plenty of other really dark tracks like Le Mans, the Nürburgring or Spa and it's not an issue there either.
@@Maenfy That's Garbage! What the heck are you talking about?? If you can't see, you're going to crash, just like has happened at Spa and the Neurenburing. Don't tell me, its obvious to anyone with sense. 🤨
Does your car have headlights? I drive my car on the highway at >150 kph all the time, and that's with ordinary consumer headlights. What these cars have lighting the track is far, far more powerful. Tracks like Daytona only have so much lighting because stock cars have no lighting at all.
I don't like the new hybrid element. The mysterious energy usage rules and weird waiting on fake energy at the pit stops. It's dangerous too. It makes the braking inconsistent. At Daytona one of the BMW's had to park in a designated safe zone and nobody could even touch the car for quite some time for fear of getting electrocuted. What happens if there's an emergency and they need to get the driver out quickly?
They have protocols for emergencies. I imagine some sort of direct grounding that would fry all the electronics but make the car safe to touch. Everything they use is also in street hybrid cars. Those risks are not unique to racing. We have to make friends with these electronics. Gasoline is no longer an option.
It was probably Filipe’s red meat they slapped Ricky around with. He’s the only reason I root for this car not to finish, there’s something about his driving style and what he seems to get away with that just bothers me. I’m not disregarding that Filipe has skills, he just bothers me.
Pls. cry anywhere else and accept, that this stuff can happen in a race. Bad luck for Porsche, but thats also racing like the thrilling and clean side to side action.
It was a Porsche driver who shunted an Acura off the track, which then rebounded into that same Porsche and slid into the path of the other Porsche prototype. If Porsche ever had this race (and I don't think they did), Jaminet gave it away.
