Tramp, if you don’t mind a suggestion, I do notice you work on the floor a lot. I strongly suggest you build your self a rolling work table with locking casters on opposite corners. Or at least throw a 3/4 sheet of smooth plywood across a few garbage cans so you can have decent work surface without breaking your back and knees! Your back will thank you and you will do better work as well. Good luck with your build.
It looks as he has plenty of workbench space. Its a choice to work on the floor for him as i see it. I definetly agree with you! My back would be locked in hunchback for week after working like this! LOL!!!!
So without further ado! Dude you crack me up!!! lol. No really, I love your videos. I always look forward to watching cause I always learn something new.
When I'm painting I always hang stuff on a wire, from the roof beam, then you can easily get into all the difficult spots. You don't need to move or touch it either, good project, cheers.
Great video, haven't rode my bike in months, waiting on stainless steel rubber well nuts for the headlight, when I put my bars on , I noticed it only had 3 screws holding it on. Good video. I pray that everyone watching this stays safe n healthy. In the name of JESUS, amen.
Sometimes its fun to pretend that we are in control, but the reality is that we are in control of absolutely nada. I do admire your efforts though. One thing is for sure, there is no virus alive in your garage. If there is they are stoned from the paint fumes.I really enjoyed the rides to the post office. Hope that you have a blessed day Corey.
2 years ago bought a 2006 Deluxe. Knowing of the Cam Chain Tensioner issue I bought the extended service plan. A week before the ESP expired I took it to the local dealership for a slight leak in the case. Upon disassembly they found the Tensioners worn, the oil pump had failed and scored the flywheel, hardened surfaces of cams lifters, damaged cylinders and also the clutch bearing had failed. So got new pistons, cylinders, fly wheel assembly, Counter balancer bearing, Upgraded cam plate assembly with high output oil pump, Cams, lifters, a complete clutch assembly and a battery...Over $6K for a $25 deductible!
I missed you live. So I watched it this morning. I think it’s coming along really well. Keep the videos coming in these times I enjoy watching them for sure. Actually I enjoy them all the time LOL stay safe and healthy brother. 😎
Tramp: just thought I would share my experience with that paint. It worked excellent on shovelhead barrels, heads and rocker boxes. We have even used it on rusty exhausts: clean them up with power wire brush and spray them. In all cases we used at least 3 coats. If you want a higher gloss than the high heat provides we mist over it with a gloss black, that works good after a couple of years when the paint begins to fade and discolour. Good luck with the build.
Love the crafty excuse to get two rides to the Post Office and back again! I must try that during my restricted lockdown ride to the grocery store....forgot my wallet...😉...😉...! Take care all!
We are still on lock down up here too and they actually won't allow you in most stores without a mask in NJ. The paint came out pretty good. I know prepping and spray painting can be a hassle sometimes.
As always you present your videos in a personal yet professional way - always interesting to me and love to post them in my group on facebook, All Custom Chopper and Bobber! Hope MI gets back to normal asap. Hang in there!
Went out to get groceries in Houma. There was few cars on the road and it looked really strange seeing the local mall locked down along with many other places.
can allways tell a man who rides a kicker ...mounts bike from high sde. i done it for 30 years till i got a road king with a button only. keep on kickin sir.
I miss living in Lyman, just north of Gulfport. Stay safe bro. I take casual rides here in Georgetown/Wilmer, AL. Kinda scared to cross into MS. You guys are a little stricter.
Love the excuse of forgetting the keys to get to ride longer. Haha. I don’t bother with the gloves. Just more chance of my cross contaminating because I think I’m safe. Bare hands and just don’t touch my face then Lysol wipe or hand sanitizer after I’m done.
j frost or what i call him outa love "frostman" hes so awesome he helped me get my ironhead that was so out of wack with oil lines timing ect. frostman is the man! hahah🤘🏼 cheers from Los Angeles man, i built my ironhead inside my studio apartment.
It's Looking good brother. The mail key thing was good comedy relief.... If you run a sanding block around those cooling fins it should give you a nice original effect but if you like the "blacked out look" the way it is now witch I prefer thats cool too...it all depends on what your going for. Cellophane wrap would work too to preserve those cycliners but I see you figured that out already.
Now that my schooling has gone to online class I’m looking forward to getting back at it with my summer job and back riding on my 83 Honda Shadow 750, however there is a 74 XLCH for sale for pretty cheap and I’m hoping to purchase it sometime here. It’ll be great to follow along with your progress to see what I might run into, also don’t put yourself down like that man, all your videos are wonderful and much better then any of the other crap UA-cam wants me to watch in their “recommended” feed.
Thanks is for the vid man, sorry I missed the premier! Looks like the weather is going to allow me to get the geezer glide out of winter hibernation this weekend up here in 🇨🇦 ✌🏼
Glad to see you're young enough to work off the floor. Most by the age of 40 are at least using plywood on milk crates cause we can't get down on the floor or see what we're looking at anyway. Lol.
I have spend 10 minutes looking for my hat and eye glasses only to realize they were already on my head the whole time. I get to work quite a bit and have forgotten my keys. Good thing is I only live 3 miles from work and it only takes 5 minutes to jam back home. Been there done that...
One glove makes more sense than two. I was called Micheal Jackson at work because I was using one glove. This was a month before the lockdown. Your videos are entertaining and of great quality. Thank you!
Another excellent video Saddle Tramp... 1st) I love seeing you get the Heritage out and stretch her out a bit!! Beautiful Bike!! 2nd) I've been thinking about a good name for your 76 Iron head project... Maybe something to celebrate the Bicentennial year of "1976". "Spirit of The Tramp" or "Free Spirit Tramp" Kinda corny, huh... I'm sure you'll come up with the name that will fit the bike best... 🇺🇸
I got some wrinkle paint that I have been wanting to spray my 73 XLCH Primary and jugs with. I think they were originally wrinkly paint finished from the Mo-Co....
Bro you need a sturdy work table that you can walk around. Wheels only if they lock. Mine is 48x48x 40 high. Mine also has an 1 1/2 edge all the way around so things dont roll off. Also a shelf underneath . Metal top if you want. Your work will just come out better. Do all table.
Dude, you should really get those jugs and heads powder coated, that pain will chip off as soon as it's bumped or when a bug or a stone hits it. And I think you'd be surprised at how affordable it is, especially if you bead blasted them first.
HI There from Netherlands, also here a semi lockdown, or intelligent lockdown how they call it. The problem withwith gloves is that you will most of the time remove them and then still touch what the rubber touched. If you just do not touch your face, eyes, mouth nose and wash your hands every time you went out and when you start eating then it should be fine, numbers going down here slowly! Just hold on! and keep 1.5m away from other people and stay at home, and I see you have 10x more space at home then most people in the Netherlads ;) great videos, I love them!
Put oil in the cylinders and lay them upside down and cover them with a clean cloth because a spot of rust on the bottom is better than a spot of rust on the top.
We are going to war....some are going to make it and some are not! Life goes on, calculated risk , isn't that what life is anyway? You are going to pay with another one. God Bless One and All. Have Faith.
Does the iron head sportster have a breather system that feed the oil and air back into the oil tank, or do they do what the modern sportster's do and feed the breather system into the carbs?
The breather on this motor is on the bottom side on the cam chest. Makes for a big mess when you start it after not running it a while. Oily mess everywhere. That's the way those old bikes were.
What editing software are you using? I have started a channel and well Edits are my most difficult part of releasing videos, I use shortcut currently, and for it not to ruin my quality, I upload monster 40-70 GB files. any advice is welcome Tramp.
I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements. Before that, I was using Windows Movie Maker, but that's become obsolete now. Elements is way better though in my opinion. I've had it for about a year, and I'm still discovering more features about it.
I lysol everything down (grips, levers, switches, gas cap, buttons, etc.) after every ride anymore. Not taking any chances and don't blame you at all for being a germaphobe like the rest of us. Be safe and God bless.
Looks like you're coming along with project. I here ya about us all becoming germaphobes. Hand sanitiser in my car rubber gloves looking forward to the rest of this build
i don't know if many can remember him ( Howard Hughes ) ? well he was a germaphobic big time well that will be us after this lock down ,,stay safe brother s and sister out there God bless hope we don't get Zombie lol
No.! NO..! NO.!!! Everybody knows you have to wipe oil on cylinder walls in a COUNTER clockwise motion, not clockwise!!! Get with the program Tramp...…..
I haven't watched you for quite some time, but I'd like to commend you on your escalating production quality! Making me want to sell the Vulcan S and Stateline and go shopping! Please stop using the expression "Chinese disease" though.. Not cool and may be hurtful towards some people.

@@littlephilo585 Actually I've got other project stuff on the benches. I'm sorta out of space at the moment for some things.
So without further ado! Dude you crack me up!!! lol. No really, I love your videos. I always look forward to watching cause I always learn something new.
I just got my 76 Ironhead running yesterday , I could sit there and listen to the sound of it idle all day lol
"Be mindful of things" is literally the best message on the topic I've heard. Great video as always Tramp!
When I'm painting I always hang stuff on a wire, from the roof beam, then you can easily get into all the difficult spots. You don't need to move or touch it either, good project, cheers.

Great video buddy, always enjoy seeing another Ironhead coming back to life. Really appreciate the business, support and shoutout aswell! 🙏👍
Thank you as well, Jared.
🤘😎
Loved hanging out in your garage, have a blessed week my friend
Jfrost is the man with the older bikes. He is so meticulous. I am a big van of his and been watching him for a while.
I use to live in Gulfport on pass road. I use work at Mr transmission on pass road . Great update have a great and safe week.
Nicely done !!! Thanks for sharing
Your half my age. However I would love to set back in your shop and just plain old B.S. you remind so much of the 70s.

What could be more "essential" than getting In The Wind, can't put a price on piece of mind...

Good job drummer, always great lil videos!
I see you keep plenty of those socks handy!!🤣 Stay safe and healthy brother! Blessings 🧷✌️
You've nailed the camera settings on your vlog, really great picture came across watching it on my tv, stay safe amigo

That intro music reminded me of an old VHS tape I didn't want anyone to catch me watching
Ha! That's funny!
Lol
...kind of like Ron Jeremy and Pornosonic?
Lol I grew up with this music 😂
LOL
When masking parts I clean with brake cleaner blow dry and after taping I like to use sand paper to clean the edges instead of trying to tape exactly.
can allways tell a man who rides a kicker ...mounts bike from high sde. i done it for 30 years till i got a road king with a button only. keep on kickin sir.
You must not have back issues with the way you're doing all that work on the floor. Get it on the bench dude! 👊😎
Rode my hardtail 380 miles Saturday....carry small bottle of rubbing alcohol with me...
I believe you have to bake that paint on after to finish it. I have seen other video's online saying that. Take Care
I miss living in Lyman, just north of Gulfport. Stay safe bro. I take casual rides here in Georgetown/Wilmer, AL. Kinda scared to cross into MS. You guys are a little stricter.
Man! You always got the best Blues jammin'!
.
I always get a Moto-education from your vids. You have Style and Class!

hello everybody...iv been thinking bout a bolt on hardtail kit for my 77....any comments or suggestions
I used to ride down Hwy 49 every year to the Memorial Day Blowout. It used to be one helluva party years ago, but lately it's lost its allure.
Yeah, it's certainly not what it was. And I doubt it'll come back too after it got canceled this year.
I hate when i forget something at home, done that. Left my place to go grocery shopping get all the way there then realize my wallet is at home.
Been there and done that. Great job and video 👍👍🇨🇱
Them cylinders and heads looking good Saddletramp
Thanks is for the vid man, sorry I missed the premier! Looks like the weather is going to allow me to get the geezer glide out of winter hibernation this weekend up here in 🇨🇦 ✌🏼
Keys are essential.
Cheerz bruh!

I do hope you washed the cylinders thoroughly to remove all the detritus left in there after the machine work ?
They're clean.
It was good. I'll be waiting for the next one.
Off to a good start so far Amigo !

I was active duty military at early covid. Did 150 mph in my mustang on 64 in Norfolk lol. Not one person out

Hey friend I sure could use your advice
Hello Saddle Tramp, from isolation in NYC.
Hey man, so good to see someone else I can relate to, doing the same kinda dumb shit I do 😂😂😂😂
ky mike here done lot of ironheads wipe surfaces with laquere thinner

Three & one oil seam to do the trick when it come to stop rust. . 👀
You are definitely old school and that’s what I like about you because I’m the same way
Nice video, let's put this bike on road 🤘
I agree
I do that in the school where I’m a caretaker .sure enough I’ll find my keys in the last closet I unlocked 🖖🏽
Have you been to magnolia Mississippi and what is it like? The wife and I are looking at a house up there.
A long time ago. Very pretty out that way.
Have Faith.
Had the reminder set, never got it on time
Saddle tramp I like the old ironheads anywhere from the 70 to 76 keep on sending update on your 76

this should be a good one!
LPS 3 rust inhibitor .. about 12.00$ / 11 oz. Spray can
Looks like you're coming along with project. I here ya about us all becoming germaphobes. Hand sanitiser in my car rubber gloves looking forward to the rest of this build
Just wear your riding gloves in the Post office. I really don't run around with gloves. I just wash my hands when I get home or back in my truck.
Never work on the floor!
Nice "saddle tramp " Tshirt in the first part of your video, do you selling those? Cheers from France
No, thats a shirt my wife had custom made for me for Christmas.
@@SaddleTrampTV Good taste! Make more of them, really nice, you good make some money with it
Looks good. Jesus will get us through the kung flu!

Apparently not everyone. I never knew that.
hope we don't have to go MOP lv 4 to walk around in public
Disassemble and send out to chrome
You need to wash those socks before you put them bsck on....😜
Wash your hands frequently, rubber gloves don't do squat, and wear a mask when around other people....be safe.
I’ve used the wife’s hot glue gun b4 I tape, it makes a nice mess if not careful 😎😝✌🏻

Sorry but it needs to be called what it is, and the world needs to remember where it came from.
