The Ford 7.3 l is just a sweetheart of an engine 🇺🇲💪
My Ford (International) 6.9 in an '87 F250 worked hard, hauled a trailer 13,000 lb payload, did woods road and Interstate equally well. No major repairs. Two rebuilds to fuel return system, one injector pump, one fuel pump, added one in-line water separator filter (Stanadyne) and used Castrol Diesel oil, 20 mpg+ at age. 187,000 faithful miles, half at hard work. I would consider another F250, if it had the same power plant under the hood.
The best ford engine was the 4.9 st online six tough as a tank
I remember the 240 ci I6 from the 60s! The next step up was the 289 2bbl.
300 cu in disp I 6!!!!
You SO RIGHT ! I WISH I COULD FIND ONE
@RedneckSpaceman put a 300 cu. in. Grank in it. Made a great race engine too !
I liked the 4.3 engine it was tough
I have a 1993 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 5.7L TBI engine with 300K miles. I haven’t had any problems with the engine, even when pulling a trailer with 1,000 pounds on it. Sometimes vehicle owners are the number one problem, they don’t maintain their vehicles.
5.7 was the best engine Chev ever made.
6.0 powerstroke replaced the " problematic" 7.3😂😂😂
lol crazy statement
Had a 2005 excursion with a 6o drove it 200000 miles ran great but interior fell apart
Strange, I gave my brother my old s-10 with a 2.8. still has it with over 320k on it. Never been inside it
5:15. They did it right with the 2.2, no collisions. They just had to screw it up on the 2.5.
5.4 325k..still running strong!!!
Hard to beat the Chevy 327 cu. in. eng.
5.0L V8 in my dad in laws Mercury Mountaineer blew up at 65k miles. It had its oil changed every 3k, was “babied”, but was a disaster, barely 200HP, 10 MPG on a good day, and just a dog.
Had a 2.8 s10 pick up that was great had the same motor in a blazer and it was awful
The 7.3 in engine was the best
The LATER power Stroke version, best smoothest running engine I ever had in a truck, 1997 F series Super Duty (F450)
The best American engines were the 19902 GM 3800, the Chevy 350, and the AMC and Ford Inline 6s.
Strange, I have an 87 Chevy S-10 my dad bought brand new...got it when he passed in 2011. Only had 26 k then. It has 110 k now. One fuel pump (in tank). Replaced alternator at 90 k. Normal maintenance otherwise. WTF?
The 2.5 l Chrysler engine is a non interference engine.
Called the iron duke twice and the 305 twice
This video convinces me to buy Toyota
The 5.4L 3V V8 made 310hp and 365 torque
5.4 Trinitron still the goat
Putting more power to the engine with add on and then running it on a Dino till the engine destroyed itself. Leave it factory power
My dad did 400 000km with is ford 350 with the 6.0L
These guys are fools
4.7 engines are a major problem if you don't keep the service up . I have a 04 1500 4.7 with 360,000 miles but I havve another o4 with only 138000 4.7 was locked up when I bought it so I put in a 5.3 Ls problems solved
60, 6.4 were junk, 7.3s were way better
Ford 2 valve 5.4 was way better than 3 valve version
5.4 all4 of them jumped time and locked up tighter than a bulls ass passinger side back on firewall cylinder
3.8L was never put in Rangers or F-150
Yes it was. 1982 and 1983 only.
@@travislivengood2744 2.3, 2.8, 2.9 3.0 and 4.0 were the only engines available in the Ranger
Base engine in F100,a real slug.Early 80s malaise truck.
305 was a turd
My 1985 5.0 gm got 18 miles per gallon at 70 miles an hour
With some transmission swapping my 88 with a 5.7 got 20 mpg. But because I kept the 261 rear-end it ended up breaking the overdrive in a few years. It just lugged itself to easily. It idled at 45 mph In overdrive. Was a converted 700r4 transmission. But those first three gears made it feel like a race truck.
@jordanalexander615my has a 700 R4 with a 373 gear rear end
Ford was junk 5. 4 hard on. Plugs junk
