i remember my mum used to watch this in the early 80s in the uk. i even remember there faces like it was yesterday and now i am 60. time does pass so fast.
I didn't know Judith McGrath who played Coleen 'Po Face' Powell in Prisoner was in A country practice? Unfortunately Judith McGrath is no longer with us. RIP to a fabulous actress.
Back in the day I wrote to Joyce Jacobs with the address “Wandin Valley, Australia “. I got back a lovely reply and signed photo. Luke & Steve were my favourites but also Cookie, Bob & Esme. RIP to all cast who passed on. Wonderful show.
A similar thing happened to me when I was 14 and wrote to Noele Gordon (Meg Richardson of the UK soap 'Crossroads'), it was at the time of her being written out of the soap, i put 'Crossroads, Birmingham', but it got there and i received a signed photo and letter. In 1985, i wrote to June Brown (Dot Cotton of ' EastEnders'), that letter turned into true friendship, June and i became best friends, that lasted until her death in 2022.
I was a student nurse at the old Royal Canberra Hospital when this show was aired. This was a great show with characters and stories you could have a laugh with or shed a tear. Being a bloke I was impressed by a male character playing a nurse of which had never been done. Terrific public health education and dinky di Aussie.
I can remember watching this when I was at home (occasionally skiving, but also during the holidays). So many Aussie soaps that I remember. I'd love to see this shown again. Thanks for sharing.
I loved this show. I remember being only seven and watching it. My bed time used to be 7pm except for the night when A Current Practice was on and my bed time was changed that one night a week to watch it. I remember cast members from the show- the actors of Billy, Esmee and Kate did a signing for the show for Featherdale Wildlife Park. I was only young and was still at the age of calling actors by their character names. I went up to Michelle Pettigrove and called her Kate asking if she could sign the picture I had of her that the park was giving out. She signed it Michelle 'Kate' Pettigrove which I still think was so sweet of her :')
I've only recently bought season 1&2 from eBay and I'm hooked. I wasn't born until 96 so missed out on it when it was on tv. I'd be down if they revamped it and had a new generation of it. But they'd have to stick with the original content as that's what people fell in love with.
Joyce Jacobs was my favourite actress in 'A Country Practice', i thought she was superb as Esme Watson, and Joyce Jacobs had wonderful comedy timing. just as June Brown has in 'Eastenders', as Dot Cotton. 'A Country Practice' was a wonderful soap.
I have just started re-watching ACP. Loved it growing up here in Ireland. Brilliant show which for me is simply timeless. Way better than the teen dramas of H & A and Neighbours in my opinion. I did like H & A growing up but it isn't something I enjoy as an adult.
I still love this show and probably watch it every 3 years. Bonus of having them all on DVD. Not happy that Channel 10 won't release the last 2 seasons. The relevance of the stories even today are what made this show so brilliant for it's time. If it doesn't get remade as a modern version for our youth to watch then that's sad as every storyline has a big impact. And modern medicine really hasn't come that far either since the 80's.
Australians desperately need a feel good television series. Enough of the anger and bloodiness of Australian TV of today! One with humour and decent stories that reflect the better aspects of our societies. But I wonder if it can be replicated in today's world? Maybe just a repeat!
I met Emily Nicol once she was 2 .I'd give my right arm to see her again as a adult .She was lovely found her in n intergram she reply to my tweet was so happy.😃😃⭐⭐🌞🌞
It was Sid Heylen. Who the heck is "Sid Helyen"? Shame the reporter screwed that up, given the point of the whole thing and his access to the same network's archives...
Please show it in the United States. I started watching it on daily motion up to episode 270 and it stopped. Please please please show it here. I love this show. GOD BLESS
@@athlone1975 This comment so clearly comes from a man. Why the hell would an eleven year old girl accuse someone of sexual assault when it didn’t happen? Do you know anything about how many of these cases get thrown out because of “lack of evidence”?
@@NickGibbsmusic aren't all of us entitled to our good name until we give cause to lose it? An allegation does not always equal a fact. Whether I'm male or female is irrelevant. Unfortunately not everyone is honest in life.
So after years of great Aussie TV Number 96, Sullivans, Prisoner, A Country Practice to name a few..... Then came Home and Away and Neighbours like a shit stain on the good linen .....sorry I calls it as I sees it.
neighbours and home and away were great in their hey day, I recall watching them here as a kid in Ireland in the 90s and they were huge hits both here and the UK, not watched either now since the late 90s but when I do catch an odd ep once in a blue moon I can see they are usually absolutely dreadful-mmm that and I'm not 10 years old anymore !
I enjoyed watching shows like this during the 1990s, but I always took such other classic Aussie shows like The Girl From Tomorrow and Spellbinder to my heart.
The early days of the show actress "Helen Scott" sure looked damn fine in her tight denim jeans and don't get me started on her gorgeous white uniform on the eyes!😊

The cleanest show ever

I’m 14 this year and my mum got me watching this and I’m hooked

Wonderfull memorys of A Country Practice growing up. Rest in Peace Joyce Jacobs

A show that is way better then any other. 100%

If only the cast and crew could see this...
"Thankyou for everything".
One of my favourite shows.xx

Such wonderful memories. Watching the show makes me remember a time long gone now.
I am rewatching it all on Daily Motion. I loved it so much along with the Sullivans
I was teenager when A country practice on TV and I love watching this show. I hope they do reboot of A Country Practices.
I loved that show! I remember crying my eyes out when Molly died.
Yes please being it BACK xxx
Her death was a very powerful scene.
I remember this! How lovely. Memories

Brilliant show
The Hawkesbury of the 70s, before the developers and politicians started selling it off. What a magical place it was!
i wonder why Shane Porteous who played Dr. Terence Elliot didn't appear in this reunion? He had the leading role in this drama!
Think he may be a recluse? Didn't see Penny either? There are a few missing..
Loved it.
The number of lumber punctures was incredible.
brought tears to my eyes watching this. Was so much a part of my life here even in the UK and still miss it.
I loved molly
She was an individual.
Great Show
Holy crap, so many face that are deeply familiar to my childhood.
I wish they did a re-run with this show.
I remember the episode that had Prime Minister Bob Hawk in it, bloody good show

RIP Joyce Jacobs... :(

How is this the "original cast" ?? Shane Porteous didn't even show up!!
Bring the show back
stop living on nostalgia
sexobscura , nostalgia is good. Much better than the rubbish tv shows now. Especially ridiculous "reality" programs
Will never be the same, most of the actors have since passed away
Yep
Please show it in the United States. I started watching it on daily motion up to episode 270 and it stopped. Please please please show it here. I love this show. GOD BLESS
Sid Hellion? i think he meant to say 'Sid Heylon,' but a funny slip of the tonge
Never forget molly dying omg 💔💔💔💔💔
Grew up with it
No scandal? Ummmm Gordon Piper anyone?
He was accused and legally cleared so I'm not sure if that remark is fair. We have no control over someone making accusations.

There always in a rented limousine
Gee that’s an old show
