If you’re able to recognize the toxic aspects of your relationship… do the self work lol. Other than that you are not respecting each other and will drive each other crazy or into depression…

You have an office that you go to every day. You don't need one at home. Nesting helps the mom. It's really important. And, you will definitely need help. You will be exhausted. Having a spare room for a grandma or sister is really helpful. You can always turn that room into an office/podcast room after you assess things 6 months after the baby arrives. Does your church have a couples seminar? This may help in terms of communication. Once the baby gets here you will both need to be aligned, for your sake and the sake of your baby. Remember that it gets easier over time, so stay patient.

Yes, I agree. It would be a great thing for them to have some sort of counseling to get through their differences of opinion on things, especially when bringing a baby into the mix.

"That thing"? Oh my...You're not having a "thing" this is your child and believe me, all these things you feel now will change when you experience the miracle of your newborn baby. There is nothing like it in the world! Try not to worry, you will do just fine. And yep, she is gonna need her momma around when the baby comes. She will be exhausted.

I don't know...Jonas seems into himself and made it clear he wasn't ready for a child (and on this I agree). I worry that having a child will not change him. He'll expect Mykayla to do everything. I'm just glad MyKayla is close to her family and it seems like they'll be there to help her - because Jonas will be absent.

I really want Jonas to be patient and understanding with MyKayla post-partum. She will be exhausted, she won’t clean as much, she will seem like a different person. I can just picture fights about things being messy. They will be for a while, prepare mentally and get through it together. I think Jonas just pictures it easier than it really is 😅. But regardless, I think y’all will be great parents.

He is in for a rude awakening! 😂 He has no understanding of what birth does to a women's body and her hormones, much less the needs of a newborn. A guest room will be needed if they have someone to help Mykayla those first few weeks.

You're spot on. Expectations need to be out well aside. It's 1000% true rhat until the baby is actually there, parents to he really truly have NO idea how exhausting, relentless and busy one small human being is.

Is level 9 the highest or does it go above it? I can't even remember. I remember years back on some gymnastics forums, girls would mention their levels and what they were working on. Seems like this one girl who was working on giants was level 7. edit: actually seems like I remember someone who was level 12, so must go to at least 12? Unless I am misremembering.

I had extreme morning sickness... vomiting the whole pregnancy up to onset of labour, for my 2 daughters.
I feel it is easy to have this picture perfect idea of having a baby - pregnancy and being a parent- but when the baby arrives it quickly brings you back to earth REAL QUICK!
Spend this time having a reality check, and be prepared for some ego bruising.
Jonas, be prepared to support your wife.. it may need to pull your head in a bit... think of wife and baby's needs not yourself and your wants and demands.
The first 8 weeks you guys will be forced into making new adjustments while being sleep deprived.. being pushed into a routine that suits the baby and not you.
Jonas, you are in for a big shock. Alone time? LOL. make the most of it now! lol!
Mykayla, I truly hope your husband gives YOU alone time before himself.
re: meet. I don't blame Mykayla feeling the way she did. You didn't support her.
    Quite concerned..

Oh Jonas you'll definitely want someone there as a backup in the 1st few weeks. You need an extra set of hands and sleep especially in the 1st few weeks.
My childbirth and recovery didn't go at all like I expected. I was in the hospital fighting to live for 2 weeks and my bf was not even close to prepared to have FT care of our newborn and me. We lived with my parents and sister. The help we anticipated being available based on their involvement with their other grandkids never materialized. So it was literally him 24/7. You'll want those extra hands.
MyKayla my morning sickness was 24/7 for the first 6 months. I got about 2 months of glorious nausea relief. By month 4 I could eat without vomiting at least.

You are going to need help during those first weeks/month. Having a baby is exhausting and then helping basically two humans who will need you is mentally hard. Keep the bed, (doesn't mean it will be there forever). Also, there are certain female things that happen after birth where another female just better understands, especially if they have been through it as well. Lastly, if you have sensitive ears, get noise reduction headphones/ear pods. It may feel weird, but you won't get as grumpy/frustrated, which will help the situation overall. You both will get through this. It's a season of life. :)

This is hard because you’re new.. I’m pregnant with my second and my house is a mess it’s going to be a mess. Myk you just need to focus on resting and growing your baby. Jonas you’re not realizing now because you’re used to it being you two and selfish and that’s fine but this baby will come and you are gonna lose that free time and space and it’s fine. You wanna keep that bed bud you’ll need it more than an office because you might want to sleep in it once you realize you’ll be up all night and will move to the couch on work nights.

I am worried because of how many years I've gone without a ton of vegetables and fruits and I need to improve my diet now, but I also hate cooking often. I am trying to sort it all but without making drastic changes all at once, which just upsets me. For now I am trying to start eating a lot less sugar and throw in more beans and hopefully go from there... The problem so far is I have not replaced the less desserts with anything so losing weight I don't want to lose...
