  • In today's episode, you're going to learn English phrases related to getting around cities in Europe and the U.S. This will give you great listening practice, give you vocabulary related to this topic, and give you insight into what it's like living in the United States.
Here are some key phrases from this lesson:
I grew up in the U.K.
    To get around a city
    Pavement - Sidewalk
    Zebra crossings - crosswalks
    It used to cost…
If I had time, I would walk
The U.S. is set up for cars
The train system in the U.S. isn’t as developed as in Europe
Most people drive or take a flight
They’ve been built with the car in mind
    There aren’t any sidewalks
    Strip malls are popular here
They drop you off on the side of the road
Be sure to go to www.tofluency.com to get your free book. Thank you for listening!

Great podcast. I've learnt a lot about life on the other side of the ocean. Here in Kyrgyzstan everything is safe with roads and pedestrian crossings. It was very interesting to know how things are in the United States, Britain, Spain. If possible, then more such podcasts are about roads, shops, ordinary everyday places where people go, habits. Thank you very much for sharing your experience.
It's such a pleasure to listen to you. Your voice is addictive. Have a good day Sir!

One of the English podcasts got my sub just after a few secs listening, the reason is your British accent.
This so far has happened to me twice, first is Luke's English Podcast, second is English with Lucy
I don't mean to compare you to those, just that I'm into British accents & culture, especially RP like yours (correct me if I'm wrong). And I'm sure if I happened to know you before, I would also hit the subscribe immediately.
Now I can happily switch between the 3 and indulge my ears with British accents for daily listening.
Thanks & keep up the great work.
