I got these braids for the first time last month and I’m in love with mine. To cleanse my scalp I simply spritz with ACV and water once a week. I only lay my edges with edge control when going out. Wear a bonnet to sleep and that’s it. When they get a bit more frizzy I’ll move over to using mousse and a scarf.
Hi! I have a question when you sleep with your bonnet do you tuck all the braids in it or leave some out because it's going to be my first time getting these braids tomorrow
I'm wearing knotless braids for the first time! I'm only a week in and loving it I'll definitely try these tips when it's time to freshen up! Thank you, it's exactly what I was looking for.
As someone who did my first EVER set of DIY knotless box braids on 12/30/21, I am both FLOORED and ENAMORED with the versatility of these braids! I have 12 braids and I just removed the wooden beads and knotted a piece of weaving thread around the base of my ponytail. I spun it around and tied a knot to create an ouchless scrunchie LOL to create a ponytail!!! SPECTACULAR to say the Least!!! Can't wait for the redo!!!
My first time in life get braids ☺️Trying something New. I’ve had them for about (3days) now and I love ❤️ them. Just researching how to maintain them 🤣😂 thanks for the Tip 🙌🏾
Thank you so much for this video🙏 This is my first time wearing knotless braids and I have been absolutely clueless on how to freshen them up. This video is super helpful🙌
I love braids and as a black woman, that's huge but I struggle because of how quickly they 'get tired of me'. Thank you for the secret, now I know better.
I LOVE knotless box braids! This post may get lengthy. I normally don't do much to my hair aside from oiling my scalp during the first two weeks of having them installed. By the third week, I'm using witch hazel on a wash cloth to "clean" my scalp. A few days later I'll wash them with diluted shampoo and conditioner. Rinse throughly & apply mousse and wrap my scarf until dry. This helps me maintain my braids until I take them out at 10 or 12 weeks.
I just got my first Knotless today and I'm in love. Its my first time getting braids and when I tell you it was PAINLESS. Not to mention I have experienced zero head issues like my friends complain box braids give. they are super cute and I know that with the right care they can last me a while.
SO where does the gunk you take out with the dry shampoo go? or you just rub it further in and t drys off clean?? It ust looks more like multiple products being added to the hair.
You’re actually supposed to put it in then get a wet towel and wipe your scalp only and it’s supposed to come off (well that’s how I use it and it’s clean it)
I love my knotless box braids my first time getting them and Yesssss they are not heavy or tight on the scalp!!!! You have to sit a long time and be patient getting them, but I will definitely not go back to regular box braids they really hurt!!!! I will pay the price to keep from hurting 🙂 Lol...
I did some knotless box braids about 5 days ago, and it looks like I had them in for 3 to 4 weeks. 😩 I wasn't educated on what braid gel to use. I used weak ass jam extra hold, and on the 5th day, my hair was fluffy at the roots. I tried Red One to retouch my braids, and it was ok, but I didn't have that perm shine that I was looking for . Smells, great like strawberry koolaid. It holds the edges down, but the hold only last for maybe 2hrs. 😔 I bought Murray's extreme hold, and it was ok, but it makes my hair look ashy, and my hair color is sandy brown. I finally gave in and bought Lock N gel for locks, waves, and braids. 🤞 This is my last resort. I hope this works because I'm not spending another dime on braid gels.
@@julzn8702 I use mousse maybe every other night, then wrap my head. I use oil maybe 2-3 times a week on my scalp; I use oil sheen spray daily. I wear my braids pulled back when I go to work, so I like for them to be nice and laid flat on the top/front as much as possible.
I currently have knotless braids and they are only 3 weeks old, but they are definitely giving 2 months. 😩 BTW I usually leave my braids in for 3 months. I'm pissed! Back to box braids I go.!
Thank s for the comment on dry shampoo. I use it to refresh my natural curls between gym sessions but so many black women tell me it’s bad for their hair. Works well for me and smells good!
I’m about to get some knotless braids next week and I’m so excited to get them even more after watching this video! Also, where did you get your hair from? I love the color! 😍
i want to do this to keep my braids fresh, but i’m afraid to put gel and not wash it out for weeks because it might do damage to my hair i’m not entirely sure if i should just put it because it’s only going on the braid or what should i do ? if you could please help
Wait! Dry shampoo?? omg, I need that in my life. Braids are my go to protective style and I have a hard time cleaning my scalp with braids on. This would be perfect for me.
I have medium knot less box braids in right now. They’ve only been in for two weeks and I think they look old. I’m excited to try the products and tips you shared in this video to refresh mine
@@LivingWithYensane sadly I took the braids down a day after watching this video 😩. That braiding hair irritated my scalp so I can’t even give you a testimonial.,
I’m going to try this! I am on my 3rd week but I wore these braids at the beach and in the rainforest so I washed about 4 times 😢. I would love to have them last at least a month.
I want some soooo bad I'm trying to find someone to do them!! Thx for your video want some bad right now!!!! So pretty and what You did to tame the frizz really worked!!
Love your video. I'm on the fence about knotless because my braided is only available 8 before my wedding. Would you recommend I chance it or just switch to regular braids
Water is everything! I don’t do hand sanitizer either, unless my hands are washed first and I happen to see it out somewhere (nurse) walk pass it and squeeze out playfully just because I didn’t have anything else to do at the moment. Dry shampoo isn’t even hoe 🛀🏿 level yet to me but it does cut the oil like powder does to makeup foundation after a few hours and as we all know, the make up is still there.
When you put the scarf on you look like you were about knock someone out 😂😂😂 but I love the tips. I need to get some dry shampoo cuz washing any protective style is definitely a no go

@@mekafoster6477 I purchased an XL bonnet and tucked them all in to eliminate early unnecessary frizzing. Same for my shower cap.

My braider really talked me out from getting these because of the early frizzing. But looking at this, I’m going to give it a shot ❤️
FRIZZ IS BEAUTIFUL Sis 😍!
Knotless is more work for braiders (not every braider can do them well). Maybe that’s why she talked you out of them?
Love this, just got my first set of knotless last Saturday. The no pain versus the box braids are amazing! Thank you for these amazing tips!
So, so helpful! Thank you so much. Getting my first set of knotless box braids installed tomorrow. Excited! I appreciate you.

How would I manage the frizz, towards the ends of my natural cornrows?
SO where does the gunk you take out with the dry shampoo go? or you just rub it further in and t drys off clean?? It ust looks more like multiple products being added to the hair.
that's what I was thinking. Dry shampoo is a no!! It's just more product build up in the long run.
You’re actually supposed to put it in then get a wet towel and wipe your scalp only and it’s supposed to come off (well that’s how I use it and it’s clean it)
Use a cotton pad
Agreed. Dry shampoo, clarifier, oil, mousse, gel. Personally for me ..would be too much product but to each their own.

I don't recommend large knotless or jumbo knotless on natural hair, it'll frizz up within a few days. Small knotless is the best way to go.
