- A look through my toolbox and cart, snap on epiq with 3 lockers. Tool polishers and perfectionists beware, no cleaning or preparation was done prior to filming. This is as is when I unlocked it in the morning. I stay pretty busy, so yup, the floor is a little dirty right now, some cores are on the floor and some tools still on the car I am working on.
Holy Crap, I don't know what is more impressive, The amount of money you have invested in these tools OR the fact that you 1 know how to use each and every one and know where each one is when you need it. VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!

What a nice collection of tools. I've been wrenching for over 15 years I am now a shop owner and still buy tools a man can never have enough. they say the person with the most tools Wins!

This is a very nice rig brother...what most people commenting don't understand is that these tool collections are not put together over night...I remember having a craftsman box and buying snap on tools until I filled that box...then you have to buy a bigger box....then more tools as you need them....and you build your tools for what you work on...my box is geared for Harley Davidson...so a lot of special tools that only work on specific years and models...the snap on truck comes by once a week...you get tools and pay on your account...you don't have to worry about anybody stealing yout box, because it takes a forklift to pick it up....
On another note...the snap on open end wrenches with the sockets on the other end are my favorite wrenches ever...I didn't see a set in your box...and my snap on flashlight that uses the 18v battery as it's base and has the led light bulb is a must...
I have to admit my flashlight is my most important tool....

For everyone commenting that he shouldn't have gloves on, you need to realize that petroleum-based fluids (oil, gasoline, and diesel fuel) are known carcinogens. Not to mention vassal parts cleaners and lubricants or brake clean. I'm a diesel mechanic and this old fashioned way of thinking shouldn't have any place in today's work force. I wear gloves, and everyone else should too. Protect your health people!

Nathan Oatman gloves are a lot quicker as well you can go from messing with rusty oily sfuff to doing a pre sale check on a brand new car just by ripping off the old gloves and getting a new pair
Most people that complain about guys being pussys for wearing gloves are not professional mechanics. They are backyard guys that think doing the occasional brake job and oil change in their driveway makes them a mechanic and they are somehow more manly for getting their hands soaked in grease and oil. Almost everyone that is putting in 40+ hours a week turning wrenches wears gloves.

You must be one hell of a mechanic. I have been a heavy equipment mechanic for 30 plus years and your box is a great example of how different we have tooled up thru the years. I so hope you do well because your collection of tools is screaming talent. Customer have no clue how deeply techs can invest not only in tools but education and experience. Nice to see a working tool box. Maybe someday I will post a video and you can see what I mean. Automotive and heavy industrial are worlds apart once you get past the basic tool set.

The fact that you own your own Tech 2 tells me you are all in and serious about your work. Nice collection. I have my own and it keeps growing little by little.....you end up with alot after 25 years! Congrats! You can pass that down to your kid someday.

Hello to the Car whisperer. Just came across this video and some of the comments that have been said. Why does it matter to the people in the comment's how much money you have spent on tools etc its your money, im a diesel tech mechanic myself I also have invested fair amount of money in tools, because I wanted to. I work with people that drink amd smoke all their money spend it on cars etc never want to buy the tools to me the are the joke! Don't get into the trade if you're not willing to put the time and investment into it, bottom line.
I can see your tools are well used. It Would have taken a lot of hard work and time to get that set up you have today. Very nice set, fair play to you.

My god the comments section is ridiculous. Really goes to show that we have some serious societal issues going on in 2017. The way people ONLY want to compare and argue and never just enjoy things is so stupid. So people are really such haters that they'll watch this and the only thing g they'll say is that "the tools don't make the mechanic", as their way of somehow discrediting this man's ability as a mechanic because somehow him having such a nice setup means he sucks as a wrench because he buys the right tools for his jobs and as a result has acquired a lot. Instead of respecting the man for having so many specific purpose tools people instead act as though him having these specialty tools means he can't do the jobs without the way they brag about how they can, thus making them the bigger dicked and better mechanic. It's ridiculous to be that way. Clearly this guy is a mechanic for a living, works on all sorts of stuff, has all his certs right there on the front of his box, and over the years has built quite a collection. Oh and btw, all these people talking about they'd never go to a shop where they have such nice setups because that in turn means the bill will be much larger, get real. No one admits a super expensive specialty tool is the better option than whatever jerry rigged alternative is available until something breaks and causes a new mess of problems that woulda never happened had you had the right tool for the job. A tool that apparently owning means you must suck as a mechanic. I can almost guarantee the guy who made this video is a very experienced and knowledgeable wrench and has probably forgotten more about cars than most people commenting have ever learned. Maybe instead of hating him and discrediting him for having a collection you're clearly jealous of, ask him questions and learn a thing or two

very Nice...A friend of mine recently retired after 45 years at head foreman in Engine Dept of International here in Sacramento, Calif...Similar rig, bed Red...said he had a round $600 K in the boxes ands tools...Lots of heavy tools.....he was diesel foreman...

You must work on all kids of vehicles. I work for Ford motor company v and they provide most of the specialty tools that you had to buy. Some day I will own the same but I live in a. Very small town o I just don't need all them now. Love the tool box and organization

We'll I'd say that's a long time of collecting and spending but sweet ass box and lots of tools. Considering to have a decent snap on or matco truck your looking at 500,000 to 750,000 and I don't know exactly what brand of tools they are but I'm guessing if on the cheap side all that would amount to at least 100,000

Nothing wrong with simply likin' tools If you're into that kinda stuff and even if you don't use 'em all, no big deal 'cause if there comes a time you may need to use that tool you you never got dirty, it's there for ya. At least you don't have to want for anything (for the most part). Besides, there's still a chance you might need something, but the odds in this case are slim. No big deal. It's all good!

+619DioFan I could probably move them to one of my other drawers, I really don't use them a ton, but I'm just so used to how that drawer has been laid out that I have a hard time changing. Although something has to be done because the overflow in there isn't very appealing.
I bought all mine from harbour freight ....efficiently cheap ,works perfect on everything diesel gas ...aircraft mechanic is my help 9n weekends and am able to persuade him to stop snap on truck driver 2 stay away from our door

Nice. I have pretty much the same setup. I have the regular box, Glomad edition. Maximizer roll cart gets used every day. The other 60 sits behind it in speciality tools. The not so perks of fixing all makes and models. Good video showing what it takes to be a tech..excluding skill. The skill video would be years long! Have a good one.
Yeah fixing all makes and models kinda sucks at times. I have a slew of specialty tools. Some for cars ill never work on again or jobs ill never perform again. My northstar water pump socket has laid dormant for years. Tool i used to use on the regular.
That is hilarious. I got the same socket to fix my buddy'd old caddy...just sits there now. 55 bucks for one job. I wish people understood how expensive it is being a mechanic, especially getting started. I literally stopped counting my box of tool receipts after 100K. Takes years of collecting. The last time I checked most rich people I know are not becoming techs!! I enjoy the various work though. I could not imagine sitting on a computer all day. The people I work with are great too. Take it easy, don't work too hard!
