The good thing in the Philippines is that the locals speak English, even the young kids. And they are very friendly, too.
Enjoy life.
Life is so much better when everyone is just so welcoming and compassionate. Stay Blessed Brahdah!
I completely agree!! It really isn't like this everywhere in the world. Thank you for watching!
*_kuya Jonathan is one of the kindest American here in the PH! stay safe always kuya J..._*
Yes , he is and so gentle and generous. Always smiling and humble! Take care Jonathan, we like your kindred spirit.
I just got back from Leyte. The WHOLE trip was stress free and relaxing. The moment I landed at L.A.X. for a transfer flight back to Texas, I immediately felt the stress. First off, L.A.X is a nightmare to navigate. Secondly, the people were not friendly, from the workers to the flyers. No one was smiling and greeting each other. Twelve years till I retire. I am counting the days!
Nothing more relaxing than hanging out in the Philippines 🇵🇭
Absolutely! It has the best energy here
Dude there is so much thing you can do there
Unfortunately there are some that just can't do that, they need that drama, negativity, and toxicity in their lives and put that onto others.
What makes these videos so special and enjoyable is the interactions with the locals and being out away from all the touristy areas. How many times do you need to watch videos of the same mall, over priced resort, 5* hotels, etc. and no interaction with the people, I've seen it once, don't need to see it again. But these videos it's always something new and the people you meet and actually talk to are what make these great. Thanks for showing us the real world side of Philippines, not just tourist hot spots, and the friendliness of the people.
you have a kind soul! showing the very sense of humanity!❤
After living in Japan, China, UK for many years and visiting many other countries I have realized that while in the US you may have a bigger house, a bigger salary, a better university, in other countries even for average people the food most people eat everyday is better (and cheaper), the fun they have every weekend is better (and safer), the cities they live in are better (and more bustling), the history/culture they experience is better (and more interesting), and the women they see everyday are prettier (and well mannered). The US has positives too (great outdoors, work opportunities, diverse, friendly people) but the truth is I guess we are rather boring haha. I certainly can understand anyone who decides to live outside the US. Enjoy life where ever you are!
Pros and cons to every country! I agree, there are plenty of positives in the US. I personally enjoy the more laid back lifestyle I’ve found here. But I’m sure you can find laid back areas in the US too. Thanks for watching!
I love that you are exploring Bohol with us watching you do it. I am so happy that you are enjoying the Philippine treasures. ❤️❤️❤️
thank you for watching the explorations!! and I'm definitely enjoying the Philippines! I'm very grateful to be able to live here!
Out of all the foreign vloggers, You are very genuine with the people and respectful our culture. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Man I can't say it enough Jonathan I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!! I'm 9 years away from retirement and my plan is to go home to Manila to live 6 months out of the year. You've brought me so much Joy with your videos and I always look forward to your next and next and next videos. Thank you for helping me to enjoy my home country while I am away from it.
loved this :) I love the generosity and the experience. This exactly what I want to do some day, drive around, chat with the locals and buy food from stands to share (helping the vendor and the locals both).
yeahhhhh! exactly. Just being in the moment, disconnect, make people smile. It's enjoying the small things in life! Thank you for watching!
Its really good to go around and talk to people randomly!👍🇵🇭🇧🇭
Yesssss!!! It's getting so hard to do that in the US. I see he talks to children for example and obviously in the US as a grown man if you are just sitting around talking with children people think you're a pedo
i also really hope the locals know how much your videos help there business
hahah.. yeah I don't think so sometimes. haha.. One time I asked for a discounted room rate to feature the property in the video since it get's expensive paying for hotels every night when I travel.. they said no.. So I made the same offer for another hotel, they said yes. That video has almost 800,000 views now. The first hotel missed out on promotion to 800,000 people.. pretty crazy
@travelescapesOFFICIAL wow did they know how many subscribers you had? What a silly buisness move!
Another great one ! Thanks Johnathan !
Thanks for watching!!
You are so good to the locals ❤
Thank you Jonathan for showing us Philippines and always being kind to Filipinos ❤️
It's really great when You accidentally find a phenomenal non-tourist spot. Foreigner tourist can be a bit obnoxiously loud.
Welcome Back Jonathan. Enjoy brother.
You make the best videos of the Philippines and your experiences there. You are my favorite blogger !
You got that right! I am so envious you got to visit Philippines! 😍 And I love how you try different foods/snacks....
I love your videos man I just get relaxed watching them. I’m a big fan of yours. From Missouri
You look like you’re having heaps of fun in Bohol; I’m so envious here.
another great video lets go!!! i hope your ankle is doing better
Thank you!! It's not horrible, and I'm grateful for that. but I'm on a filming trip now and it's a problem exploring and hiking around for sure. It keeps getting irritated because I'm walking too much on it... It's definitely a problem. but it could be a lot worse!
That's pretty cool that you could buy halo halo for all of those people and it was still less than $10
Hi Jonathan, enjoy watching your videos and supporting your channel.
Keep up your positive vibes & kindness. Whenever I’m off duty my friends and I
we’ll travel to Asia and have the best of time. Our last visit was Bohol Alona beach
beautiful beach, people were friendly and we had lots of fun. Miss the beautiful
beaches and Red Horse (smile) we visit around Asia every chance off duty we get (smile).
May God bless, guide and protect you throughout your life.
From USA
I love this, just shows there are really nice places to find off the beaten path and away from the average tourist area.
I think a lot of people would like to talk to the people and enjoy their company so it is nice to get a good idea of places to visit.
I was born in Bohol and l will assure you to all foreign and local visitors hospitality and caring of these people are. Enjoy to the fullest. Thanks.

Wow your having a great time. Enjoy and take care
Just a bite of halo-halo will quickly put you in a de-stress mood. Those family owned resorts away from the touristy spots are highly enjoyable, great finds Johnathan.
hahah very true! I agree! that spot was super peaceful! Thanks for watching!
It’s the best food sweetheart ❤😊
I'll be over in the Phils on June 16, my second visit this year and it's growing on me. I'm seriously considering retirement here as I've never met such welcoming and friendly people. I love the family owned resorts, my wife and I stay local in Pilar and Mariveles.
Hope you are living your best life in there Jonathan.
I enjoyed this video. make some more.
I’ve already filmed a couple more! Just need to edit. Thanks for watching!

Hi!! okay lang ikaw? It was a hot day, everyone needed halo-halo! 😅 ayo ayoooo
Enjoy Jonathan.. happy 2x ug amping kanunay🥰
Hi Jonathan, it was great to see the excitement on the individuals that you treated to Hallo Hallo. It always amazes me how friendly and appreciative the Filipino people are to tourists that they interact with.
Hi Ben! It really is something unique and a big part of the reason why I spend so much time here in the Philippines. It puts me a good mood every day! The way we treat each other has an impact on others, positive or negative. Thanks for watching Ben!
My wife and I also love traveling around the quiet side roads of Panglao. Never been to that area near Bikini Beach though. That Bobo Cafe looked interesting. I love all of the Philippines but Bohol is my ideal Philippine island. Perfect combination of everything.
yeah it's got a little bit of everything. I like the quiet areas away from Alona. Thanks for watching!
That little kids accent is very good.
Stay safe sir you're such a generous american god bless you

Siargao and siquijor are probably my two favorite islands!
Thank you for staying in the Philippines longer
Ahhh that just sums up one of the things I ❤ about being back home in the Philippines. The impromptu gatherings and just the laid back lifestyle. The halo halo is great too, of course!
Yeah that’s exactly what I meant by the title! Laid back lifestyle and impromptu gatherings!
The street where u turned used to be where the old bougainvillea restaurant is located. Damn missin Dauis. Can’t wait to get back home.
Unplan tour. Good communication to people. Nice guy

Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
I cannot believe how beautiful the young lady at 20:40 is... she can defeat my whole city with her natural look and kind attitude.
Philippines is definitely on my list of travels with my lovely wife next year!
Amping Jonathan of ur everyday's adventure , be safe always 🙂
Yeah! Every day should be an adventure!
Very good sir! I'm glad you are picking up more Bisaya language. I love the non tourist areas of Bohol. The prices are lower, the people are friendlier, and there are many more unexpected wonders to discover. Thank you for showing us this. There is so much more to Bohol than Alona Beach. I retire to north of Sagbayan in July. I have a nice house there my Filipina wife built for us. Why don't you give us a video of the more common Bisaya phrases you have learned? It would be very helpful to many of us. I see how with just a few local greetings and thank short phrases, you become more than just another tourist to them.
Please make more videos!!! ♥️
Tnks for sharing n' showing what's the places look like!
I enjoyed watching !
For me it's not easy for us to visit those places coz we don't have enough financial to spend for touring places like that!
Waiting for another beautiful vlog bro! Stay safe Good bless!
it's true, tourist places have higher prices. What island do you live on? Thank you for watching!!
Nice Sir!.you’re in my birthland my home proivince Bohol.
Good life! Hoping to do it one day.
You are amazing. Another great content Jonathan! Great job, Well done. Very informative contents and hilarious too. I love how you are not shy to converse with anyone you bump into. Your vids are making me getting even more excited for my upcoming Island-Hopping trip in October to November. Can't wait, heh-heh. Have a good one matey, :-).
Thank you!!! Yeah I’ll talk to anyone 😂 have fun on your island hopping trip! Siargao and Siquijor are two of my favorite islands if you get a chance to visit them!
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL aawww, love your positive outlook on life / good attitude. ahh ok great, Thank you for that advise / tip. I am actually going to be going to Bohol and Siargao too - part of highlight lists. I will be away from AUSTRALIA for over a month. We are short-staffed unfortunately, so couldn't get time off longer, never mind, next time lol, really cant wait. Thanks Jonathan! Enjoy your day!
great upload keep tubing
Nice resort more vlog or video
Thanks! I’ll keep them coming!
Awesome halo halo party
😂 yeahhhhh
Never been in Bohol and thank you for sharing this video 🙏
Nice place that you visited on the video. Im not sure if it's pricey but the peaceful place is priceless
you communicate with them well
Hey; great to see Panglao areas I hadn’t had chance to see.
Looked like Snack Bar2 you passed but I couldn’t see the sign out front anymore, has it now closed down? Was awesome place on weekends 🙂
Those side roads are soooo rocky on the scooters lol
yeah! I haven't seen any other videos exploring out this way, so I decided to show it! yeah, I drove past snack bar. It's still open and that area has a few other bars and restaurants now too. And some foreigners have chosen to live around there to get away from the crowds in Alona. Thanks for watching!
@@travelescapesOFFICIALyeah def great place to meet many friendly expats and locals that hang out. Awesome happy staff and food. 😊
Nice accommodation 😍
it is!!
That the things I like, natural full of life, not crowded and peaceful.
im in thailand now but just came from the philippines. el nido was cool but touristy. malapascua was too touristy & way too many motorbikes for a small island with non stop honking. cebu city was awesome, stayed in a high rise apt for $20 usd a night (unreal). siargao was pretty cool but, siquijor & bohol/panglao were my fav for sure. i loved just cruzin around bohol & panglao checking out places & meeting locals plus the beaches were right on & the prices in bohol/panglao were soooo cheap especially for a big plate of food with meat/veg/rice.loved it
Oh I'm surprised to hear that about Malapascua! I've never been there, but I thought it wasn't that well known. Did you visit Bantayan when you were up there? Out of those you mentioned Siquijor might be my favorite as well! El Nido town was definitely too touristy but if you get a motorbike and get out of town the scenery is beautiful around there! Enjoy Thailand!
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL next time bantayan for sure.i thought malapascua was only motorbike taxis but motorbike were everywhere & non stop honking was nuts bro.but i got a steak with garlic prawns rice & a small watermelon shake for $6 usd..blew my mind.b4 i left the usa i had a similar meal & it cost me $40. i always explore outside the tourist area on a bike.much more fun.will be back def. peace
That was quick- it’s quick quick 🤩
😂 I see what you did there with that joke haha
@@travelescapesOFFICIALCan’t resist 😅
I want some halohalo too, Jonathan 😋. You're very kind 😇 to those people, buying them halohalo, salamat 😋 kaayo. Stay safe Jon and God bless 🙌 🙏 ❤️ ♥️
That was really cool of you to treat everyone for some halo halo (Total pun intended 😁).
Also like the native Kubo (Jush) resort. It's clean and practical. Friendly and accommodating staff as well.
😅 thanks for watching and for your pun! 😅
