    Working in the garage when it's below 30 degrees outside and only 40 inside is "unpleasant" to say the least. I wanted to have something to make it more comfortable to work, that is energy-efficient didn't have an open flame due to fumes from gas, etc in my garage and by-products of combustion that would be harmful to me. With that in mind, I did an install of the Heat Storm HD-1000-WX-Wifi 1000watt Quartz infrared heater. Follow along and let me know what you think or if you have this or another solution to the cold shop problem.
    Install is crazy easy and this works decently for the small area that I have

    I've had 2 in my office for several years. Great little heaters, and about to come in handy in a few days when it gets down to 10 degrees here in Texas. I have mine automated based on outside temperatures & hours of the day.

    Awesome video! I'm in the market for a garage heather definitely might look into this one or the 6000 you did a video on

      Both good heater though If you have an area over 100 square or so I'd go with the 6000.

    Nice job, how did you make out with the few cold months you had with the heater? Will you be using it this winter. I’m in NY and want to take the bite out of an uninsulated Mud room for just a couple hours a day and the WiFi option makes this the perfect heater!

      This one ended up being a touch bit small for my garage. I went with the 6000watt one that they have and it's been wonderful in Central NY

      Thank you for the comment. Garage is about 400 square feet. It's pretty well insulated though I lose some heat around the overhead doors. I have since replaced that heater with a larger one from Heat Storm and have replaced or supplemented that with a mini split unit for heating and cooling as I do a lot of laser work and the garage gets a touch warm in thr summer

    What are you using to stay warm in your workshop when it's cold. Does it have an open flame?

    Hello, I am wondering if you can change it from Fahrenheit to Celsius is there an option for that via the app? Thank you.

    • @YourCouchsucks

      From what I've seen you can only change the temp setting between Fahrenheit to Celsius using the control, panel on the heater itself is

    How well do you think it would heat a 100sqft insulated shed? I’ve turned it into an office and need to find a way to heat it and not be loud.

    • @YourCouchsucks
      @YourCouchsucks  5 місяців тому

      In my opinion it would most likely work reasonable well if your insulation is good

    I have the 1500 watt heater and you hide the outlet behind the heater being plugged. I can’t find if this style has the same setup. I would like to mount and hide the cord on this the same as the 1500. Do you know? Nice videos

    How did it do heating up the garage from 40 degrees? How long did it take?

    • @YourCouchsucks
      @YourCouchsucks  Рік тому

      This particular heater didn't really work well for my garage it took the edge off but would be better suited for a smaller 200 square feet or less. I did another video on the Heat Storm HT6000 that worked a lot better. That said about a month ago I installed a Mr Cool minisplit for heating and cooling as I run a lot of laser projects. In the summer the temps get pretty high

    I don't think you ever told us how long it took to heat your space from 42° to 70°. maybe I just didn't hear it?

    • @YourCouchsucks
      @YourCouchsucks  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah that was a oversight when I posted thr video. What I found though is this heater is decent but I needed a bigger one for my garage 400 square foot workspace. This would be great for a smaller 100 or 200 area.
