I understand official timing ends at the end of the bike portion but last year aquabike athletes did the last bit of the run to get to the finish line. This allowed these athletes to "finish" and also return their timing chips. Is this the same procedure this year?

The aqua bike will finish when the athlete crosses the timing mat at the end of the bike portion (transition).

@@hh6790 You will exit out of transition via the "run out" but follow a separate route from the regular run course to get your medal.
