You should make a giant metal horn to put firecrackers in. The horn shape matches the impedance between small, high amplitude sources and the comparatively thin surrounding air, and it doesn't have to be a very good horn shape either. It can be a very rough approximation and you will still get pretty good impedance matching and it will be *_so loud._* Also, have you ever seen that two identical parabolic dishes can be used to transmit sound over "long" distances? It make me wonder if you could destroy things with remote sound by exploding a strong petard at the focal point of one dish, aiming the sound at the second dish, which focuses it on something you want to destroy. Wouldn't that be neat?
