Underdog is a staple of Hardcore music. "Vanishing Point" was an album I grew up on, and I still listen to it relatively often. For those of you who like this song, listen to the album--it's amazing. For that matter, check out the album "New York City Hardcore - The Way It Is". Lots of great tunes..."Sick People" is one of my favorties.
You, sir, are correct. It was a comment for the people who only know this song because of GTA4. I was trying to pose other great hardcore songs/bands, and think that the NYCHC album is a great compilation of groups. I used to have it on vinyl as well, but picked up a copy on CD.
Cool - I thought maybe I overlooked a hidden bonus track or something. Either way, that's a great recommendation. I especially like that Supertouch song; not sure if they ever released anything else. That whole era of hardcore was great. I visited NYC in the summer of '87 just to go to the matinees at CBGB; I feel lucky to have experienced it, especially since they shut the doors permanently.
Best Part! We stand and fight back to back We take no shit We stay tight, we stick together And deal with it We use our heads and not our fists Unless we're pushed As one we fight, and we win.
I got GTA 4 just after getting interested in hardcore, so I already knew things like agnostic front, black flag, siege, and fear, GTA just introduced me to more bands who were a part of the movement.
Not many comments on here that aren't mentioning GTA 4...truth be told, this is where I first heard it, however I was already listening to HC before it came out, by friends introducing me to it. And I don't mean any of that "i love her but she's into him, but he's into me" bullshit. Nah I'm not an HC Punk but I like the stuff. I'm happy that the NYHC scene got a lot of attention because of THAT game, bout time they got some recognition. UP THE PUNX!
Do these guys still play because last I heard when I went to fye and asked the cashier if they were still playing they discontinued the band. Thats why I want to know if they still play though?
