Huh idiot's who disrespect so called fake wrestlers... The storylines are fake they sell moves they fake punches they really get hurt & they're talented wrestler's not everyone can do what Shawn Michaels Jeff Hardy & Rey Mysterio can do so shut up please
Brock Lesnar is 44 years old, he’s made his money in the WWE & UFC, he’s achieved everything, he’s won in both companies, he’s now having fun, but since his return in 2012 he’s worked SMARTER, he doesn’t take the risks he used too in his first run. That’s a smart businessman.
Even when people now are saying how he's doing just suplexes and shit - He's still the biggest star out there whenever he comes back and outdraws anyone in the business. Maybe not Rock, Cena and Austin but in terms of the semi-active wrestlers, he's definitely the top dog.
He is a super athlete, he is an NCAA champion, he exploded on the pro wrestling scene, made an NFL roster (no he didn't make the main team or play in any games, but he got a lot further than most that try.), he is a multi time UFC champion, then came full circle in his pro wrestling career to be one the biggest stars in history. Love him or hate him, you still have to respect him.
Ok let's not get it twisted, Frank back in the day was a cocky asshole, and he did a MASSIVE amount of humiliating trash talk to Brock and to pro wrestling as a whole during the Brock vs Frank Rematch leadup. Frank got A LOT more humble after getting his ass kicked, and in essence it taught him to become a more well rounded martial artist and human being.

Mir is one of the most under appreciated fighters in the game. His ground game forced the HW’s to improve their guard and submission defense, and some of his highlights are classics.
Brock became an UFC champ early in his career. That’s impressive. Took the belt from Randy Couture a legit champ then took the undefeated record from Carwin.
@@petebagwell6666 don’t want to criticize Brock of course he knows how to fight but every mma fighter can come a day and take the win it’s just a Bet , and people are amazed because he took the championship defend it , leave for 1 year win again and lose It’s strange but I’m not super impressed (I only watch wrestling rarely UFC but there are tons of people with better win loss record and all that)
Yeah, Mir is kinda understating how unhinged he was for a while concerning Brock. Mir actually got to the point about talking about wanting to kill Brock, and the UFC had to step in and threaten to fire the guy if he didn't start watching what he was saying. That being said, Mir was never in a position to be fighting Brock again before Brock retired. After Brock lost the title, he only had the one more number 1 contender fight before he retired. If he had won that fight, Brock would have only had taken the one more title fight regardless of whether he won or lost. He was not in great health back then.
I could see why Mir wanted to kill Brock. Before and after the bike accident Mir was the poster boy of the heavyweight division and after UFC 100 Brock made him look like a dunce in the sport.
i started watching ufc bc of Brock and i hated Frank Mir with a fucking passion when i was in high school, but the headline made it seem like he was dogging Brock which I don’t think he did.
That about kill thing, Mir was just trying to promote the fight. Conor, khamzat, etc so many people have said it but unlike Conor, khamzat, etc Mir ain't Dana's boy while Brock Lesnar was Dana's boy.
Thank you, Frank Mir. For giving credit and respect to professional wrestling at the beginning. I know the majority of the MMA community are very smug and look down on it. Not everybody can put their body on the line 300 days out of the year. Same way not everybody can step foot in the octagon. Two completely different lifestyles. I respect both.
I don't know if you noticed but big props to Frank for also saying that Brock is more naturally a fighter than a pro wrestler. Because that's something that brock gets shit for more than anything. I still hear how oh Brock's not an MMA fighter he's not a real MMA fighter which is the dumbest thing you can say about Brock Lesnar LOL
I just don't believe most the mma community craps on pro wrestling. I think many a fan watched it growing up and loved it. What I do think happens is, many wrestling fans come over and legit used to talk like they were real fighters. I mean, many really didn't know how fake back in the day wrestling was. I mean these guys legit had a boxing tournament and it was god awful. As both sports have evolved I think there are far many people with your opinion who watch the sports. Wrestling certainly takes a toll on the body and requires some serious skills. We also know that these guys would get demolished in a real fight and people no longer even debate that wrestlers could beat up mma fighters.
@@Dejusticed 100%. I think the worst of it was when Brock came over to MMA and you heard it more from either people that weren't even fans of either sport but played sports so they would comment or would mainly be from MMA fans that didn't understand what wrestling was lol I don't know why they didn't into their MMA fans but they couldn't look past the fact that the guy came from WWE but then had this ridiculous wrestling pedigree just like some of their favorite mma fighters did

He’s over, because Vince has shoved him down the throats while, burying guys like Braun and Joe who would’ve beaten him. We can’t ignore that part, same with Roman. If you’re the only one given that treatment, of course that’s how it’s gonna be. Brock’s a HOFer for sure, and deserves the treatment, but let’s give nuance.
McMahan wants to make an Andre type out of him, doesn't want to overuse him . In a Stone Cold Podcast VM said that he doesn't want Brock to be just a week in week out guy, he only wants him for main events. Stone Cold looked at VM as if to say, what about payin his dues like everybody else.
I think this is why wrestling has survived with success for so long. They know wins/losses do not matter, its getting you over that matters that's it. Once you are over, no one cares about your losses. They will pay to see you read a book, or have opinions. When you are over, they just care that you are appearing. The same thing goes for ufc or boxing, but they still think losses matter alot. It's getting you over, getting people to care about you that sells.
Extremely humble and respectable dialogue from Mir. I only knew him from the Lesnar fight and brief post-retirement comments. Much respect to him. Seems like a great guy.
My Golden era for MMA was Strikeforce on Showtime UFC vets like GSP, Koscheck, Rampage, Machida, Silva, Ubereem,Jones emerging, Shogun becoming champ, Cain out cardioing Mfs, BJ Penn splitting open Diego, Brock v Shane Carwin, Ariel being a great instigator, Ultimate fighter on Spike, Karyn Bryant getting motorboated,Undisputed games online, Dana doing media scrums and giving away tickets in public. It just felt different then, much bigger and more exciting. Now its over saturated and full of no stars really. Started getting stale when they move to FOX and got with Reebok.
The "oversaturation and no stars" thing will always be weird to me. I love that there are fights every Saturday for over a month. I used to have no problem binge watching multi disc King of the Cage DVDs back in the day for hours at a time, and there were no big names or stars in those. MMA fans can be so confusing.
He deserved what he got. He was super arrogant against Wrestlers and I very much savored the flavor of him getting his face turned into hamburger meat. Frank is the single only person I flat out hate in all of MMA for his disgusting disrespect.
Frank got more humble later in life, but when he was champion in his prime, he had a HUGE ego and trash talked a lot of people. In the media leadup to Brock vs Mir 2, Frank and his camp ridiculed pro wrestling and constantly made fun of Brock and his accomplishments. That's why Brock had so much pent up anger and emotion on Frank even after the fight was over. Frank DID kind of deserve it at the time, lol, he was an asshole.
He’s always had a technical and intelligent approach to fighting. Like a GSP, they’re put the art in martial artist. It makes him cocky. But I rooted for him against Brock because it sold as brain vs brawn
You don't recognize him because he has changed. More chill respectful everyday guy type now. Back in the day a real piece of work. Good for the game was Frank Mir always battling. Getting old mellows you out thats where he is I think. Probably takes meds for various conditions(i know i would need a handful after that career). Hoping he stays fairly healthy and can enjoy life. @@rahamanawelenje9955 ??? Movies are not "authentic". The only difference between a movie and professional wrestling is that a movie has scenes and extensive editing to hide mistakes. Wrestling shows are live, which is why mistakes happen, and also why the people doing them must be professionals. No average joe could perform those moves without a much higher risk of injury. Both movies and wrestling require suspension of disbelief to be enjoyable. When you're watching an action film, you don't question why the main character has a seemingly infinite supply of ammo, or how his enemies all shoot like Stormtroopers. @Paul Blackman I’m sure the dude has taken some type of steroid throughout his career. He’s had plenty of injuries. And even if they were just for performance, do you think he’s the only guy to do it? Almost every fighter uses what they can to get better. I don’t agree with it, I think it rots your organs. But almost everybody is on some type of hormone
Frank was on his way to being the best heavyweight at the time but yea the accident destroyed his legs. That accident probably also led to increased drinking and probably opioid abuse.
I heard a pro wrestler once say, "If you think this is 'fake', then come and step into the ring with me. I will slam you with a 'fake' throw. I will slam my "fake" forearm into your 'fake' face. I will kick your 'fake' stomach with my 'fake' leg. You can then ride on the 'fake' ambulance, which will take you to the 'fake' hospital, and they will perform 'fake' surgery on you."
Also, Brock was a NCAA Div 1 heavyweight national champ. So, for those making the "fake wrestling" comments save it. These same people forget Severn also was a "pro wrestler" for a stint and so was Angle who won gold at the Olympics.
Frank in another interview mentioned how other UFC fighters were oblivious to that. They were saying "teach the phoney what real competition is all about".
Frank was a great heavyweight champ and an awesome fighter - striking and grappling. When a champion turns down the opportunity for a rubber match, especially against someone who made it look a bit easy in the first fight, something smells a little fishy. And let's remember, if it was anyone other than Lesnar (at the time the UFC's perceived cash cow) that Shane Carwin was pounding on for about 4 straight minutes, that fight would have been stopped.
I dunno, Shane blew himself up & Lesnar was still defending himself. I think round 2 proved that he wasn't nearly as damaged as people believed him to be.
Mir doesn't know anyone in the industry. He might talk to some indy guys that have never been in the wwe, but Brock's reputation as a worker is pretty great according to most wrestlers.
It's obvious the interviewer doesn't watch Brock in wwe nowadays because that man can cut a damn promo. He's been cutting damn good promos for a good while now. Before he used to be the quiet guy and paul Heyman would do all the talking. Now it's all him and he excels at it.

Probably still mad Brock beat his ass in the second fight he even did in the first fight but frank is just too good at submissions and in the minute and 30 seconds the fight went on he dominated the first minute and 20 seconds but ultimately the more experienced frank pulled one out
Watching Frank's face getting punched in on the second fight with Brock was very tough to watch. I've always liked Frank Mir regardless he's had some great victories but unfortunately a lot of losses too
I never watched MMA until I was living outside of the country about 20 years ago. I would watch WEC then because it was one of the few English speaking programs on there, and sometimes I would just crave hearing someone talking in clear English as much as anything. That was when Frank Mir was doing the commentary for WEC. I really enjoyed listening to his commentary. He seemed like such an intelligent, well-spoken student of the game to me. He was, to me, about like what John Madden is to football. If you were someone who didn't know shit about MMA, you could learn a lot from listening to Frank Mir. I imagine if you knew far more about MMA than I did, you could still learn a lot from Frank Mir's commentary, just like with John Madden's football commentary.
What most people don’t understand is Brock’s a 1 of 1 - A legitimate All-American and a National champion on two levels junior college and division 1, 6’3 295 pounds could bench 400 pounds, ran a 4.640, could throw 500 pounds around like nothing while simultaneously having the ability and agility to do a shooting star press, competed in 3 professional sports, that’s literally like unmatched
@@Xnovality What is it with internet MMA fans that they think they can refer to fighters as though they're bullying their little brothers? How your simile fits into the Frank Mir story, I have no idea at all.
From what I've read, he's got a pretty sweet deal $$-wise with WWE. I think he knows Vince will let him do how much he wants, whenever he feels like it, so that's why we get some "barn burner" 5 minute Main Event Wrestlemania matches from Brock.
Even to someone Frank has a clear distasteful history with able to give level headed answers. And even be complimentary about brock. True professional.
Yeah considering how bad this feud was at the time. Mir was pretty level headed about him, even somewhat complimentary. I think at the time Mir said he hoped to be the first person to kill someone in ring. and at end brock laughed and yelled at a bloody Mir when he was trying to shake hands. Id like to think if these guys sat down and had a beer together, theyd be friends. But its probhably more likely they'd fight again.
My biggest problem with Brock and his MMA career was his refusal to train striking and be hit in training. He could never ascend to the top without shoring up that aspect of his game. For all the God-given talent he had he simply never got comfortable taking strikes. This is the reason Kurt Angle never attempted to fight. When he and Lesnar legitimately rolled Kurt would dominate but he knew he didn't want to get punched in the face. If Brock would have came in five years earlier, and trained striking hard, he may have been the best ever. I 'm not saying he would have been an elite striker, but he could have become passable and more importantly not panic when he took heavy strikes.
@@jwatson181 Not when you have an issue taking strikes. He never got to a place where he was remotely comfortable taking strikes. He would go into panic mode way too fast
This is obviously stuff Frank heard 2nd/3rd hand as he isn't talking about his time in UFC at all. He's not really accusing Brock, he's essentially just saying the rumor he heard. All I know is there are guys like Goldberg who come in, barely cut promos, work 5 minutes and leave. Now THAT'S what I consider the bare minimum. When Brock is there he actually works like he's not watching the clock the whole time. He does plenty of long segments and works plenty of long matches. He may not be there every week but when he's there he's good to go.
I forgot who said this, I think it was one of the women but they said that Brock Lesnar watches every segment and match from gorilla position and gives feedback to wrestlers
Frank Mir was/is the greatest “heavyweight” Jiu-Jitsu/Submission fighter in UFC history. Dude literally broke multiple limbs in the octagon and has two wins over Nogueira.
I don't think he's being disrespectful to Brock, I think he does respect him. When he says "bare minimum" he was saying that's his understanding from talking to people in the industry since he doesn't really watch WWE. And to clarify why people would say that, it's because post-2012 Brock's move set in WWE became extremely limited and simple. My understanding is that he started doing that to reduce the risk of injury and his declining health due to his diverticulitis and substance abuse was taking a toll on him. But more recently over the past year or so Brock seems to have greatly improved his health and does put in huge effort into his work, he just doesn't take unnecessary risks to his health anymore by doing dangerous high spots. If you wanna see peak Lesnar in WWE check him out on Smackdown in 2002/2003 era. He was roided, on pills, on the vodka, and doing all kinds of wild shit in the ring 😄🤠 He said he learned to stop doing stupid shit in the ring after he damn near paralyzed himself with the shooting star press on Kurt Angle at Wrestlemania.
From everything I've heard since Brock returned, he has been doing anything but the minimum. I've heard plenty of younger stars talk about how he has sat in the gorilla position and offered advice to young up and comers. He apparently is very approachable and is having a great time helping others.

Brock a fucking creep
If he didn't wrestle way more often then cena be would draw a bigger crowd than cena that's fax
Such a click baiting title. Dude showed nothing but respect to Brock.
Thanks for saving my time.
Frank Mir was much more respectful of Lesnar then the title of the video suggests with that out of context quote.
No doubt, really cherry-picked the most click-baitey line possible. CVV gotta get those clicks though, and he got mine.
Thats been true of Mir's whole career really. He's always been pretty open and honest in answering questions and that leads to some clickbaity quotes.
Ok let's not get it twisted, Frank back in the day was a cocky asshole, and he did a MASSIVE amount of humiliating trash talk to Brock and to pro wrestling as a whole during the Brock vs Frank Rematch leadup.

I think this is why wrestling has survived with success for so long. They know wins/losses do not matter, its getting you over that matters that's it. I will kick your 'fake' stomach with my 'fake' leg. You can then ride on the 'fake' ambulance, which will take you to the 'fake' hospital, and they will perform 'fake' surgery on you."
*'It's pretty hard to un-scramble eggs'*
Also, Brock was a NCAA Div 1 heavyweight national champ.
So, for those making the "fake wrestling" comments save it.
These same people forget Severn also was a "pro wrestler" for a stint and so was Angle who won gold at the Olympics.
Frank in another interview mentioned how other UFC fighters were oblivious to that. They were saying "teach the phoney what real competition is all about".
damn Frank Mir looks so different now.
Met Frank a few years back at a seminar, really friendly and conversational. Took pictures and signed gloves for my son.
Mir doesn't know anyone in the industry. He might talk to some indy guys that have never been in the wwe, but Brock's reputation as a worker is pretty great according to most wrestlers.
I love me some Frank Mir; such a cool guy!
Imagine if brock went into training mma in 2000-01 instead of pro wrestling he would have been the best ever
Imagine if Frank Mir never got into the motorcycle accident, he would have been the best ever.
@@travism7856 Brock woulda still kicked his ass
It's obvious the interviewer doesn't watch Brock in wwe nowadays because that man can cut a damn promo. He's been cutting damn good promos for a good while now. Before he used to be the quiet guy and paul Heyman would do all the talking. Now it's all him and he excels at it.
Always enjoy watching fights and listening to FM
Always loved Frank mir new lvl of respect tho listening to him talk about pro wrestling cvv coming thru again man's smashing it last couple yrs much love from cross the pond brother
Frank Mir IS the bare minimum. He was the king of excuses in MMA.
Frank Mir is a very intelligent man to say the least, and a mixed-martial artists of the highest level. His honesty and experience with pro wrestling is succinct and informative in a way that makes me appreciate both sports even more.
One of the biggest MMA what ifs, what if Mir never had the motorcycle accident? I think he would have ended up on the Mt. Rushmore of heavyweights.
I think the same but it sure seems like no one here knows to much about that, he had it all when it came to MMA.
Yeah Mir would have been champ for a long time, I don't think anyone was on his level at that point.
This is how people need to learn to be educated like Frank Mir, he gives credit where it’s due and doesn’t try and take things away from someone
I wasn't a Frank Mir fan but hearing him in his interviews and how he carries himself, he is a professional and I have a lot of respect for him. Plus he has a lot of interesting and insightful things to say about his experience in MMA.
Respect for Frank Mir! He is a warrior in life and in the cage!
Probably still mad Brock beat his ass in the second fight he even did in the first fight but frank is just too good at submissions and in the minute and 30 seconds the fight went on he dominated the first minute and 20 seconds but ultimately the more experienced frank pulled one out
👀👀👀 redacted
If the ref didn't stand them up Mir would have lost.
I imagine if you knew far more about MMA than I did, you could still learn a lot from Frank Mir's commentary, just like with John Madden's football commentary.
not the first time someone said brock did the bare minimum for the check lol
Why does his right arm look so small?
I think it’s from a bad motorcycle accident he had several years ago
Obviously he uses his left hand to jerk off duh
What most people don’t understand is Brock’s a 1 of 1
- A legitimate All-American and a National champion on two levels junior college and division 1, 6’3 295 pounds could bench 400 pounds, ran a 4.640, could throw 500 pounds around like nothing while simultaneously having the ability and agility to do a shooting star press, competed in 3 professional sports, that’s literally like unmatched
What professional sports?
@@Wonderkid44 Football, UFC, Collegiate Wrestling
Does the bare minimum but yet he won the UFC heavyweight title in a few fights? Shut up Frank
Does anyone actually watch the videos these days? He was talking about what he'd heard people say about Brock's wrestling career.
Frank has always been a big headed guy I'm actually glad Brock pummeled him
Had it handed to him, he didn’t even beat anyone worth a shit, he got dominated than ram like a little girl.
@@Xnovality What is it with internet MMA fans that they think they can refer to fighters as though they're bullying their little brothers? Frank did what he needed to do for our entertainment and has now got CTE for his troubles. Maybe you have a little brother who runs like a little girl. How your simile fits into the Frank Mir story, I have no idea at all.
@@Xnovality do you mean Brock ?
thanks for the kind words about wrestling
Frank Mir is genuinely pretty open minded he doesn’t view pro wrestling as nonsense and jokes. He also is very respectful. I use to love him as a kid
He trashedtalk Brock about Wrestling Entertainment.
Maybe that's just for heat.
He can do the bare minimum cause he's always a draw and doesn't need to go all out and potentially injure himself. It's good for a longer career
Brock doesn't want to be like Mick Foley body wise and other guys who killed their bodies in their career.
From what I've read, he's got a pretty sweet deal $$-wise with WWE. I think he knows Vince will let him do how much he wants, whenever he feels like it, so that's why we get some "barn burner" 5 minute Main Event Wrestlemania matches from Brock.
All these haters talking crap about a guy that could literally throw you across a room through dry-wall in a cowboy outfit.
@@thenewyearsgrinch Yeah he said some outlandish stuff he had to walk back.
Them's fightin' words Frank
Always liked this man. My first UFC fighter I noticed and admired. He seems to be normal, humble and intelligent. All the best to you Mr. Mir 👍
It must feel horrible to know that the bare minimum was enough to defeat the mighty frank Mir
Hey dingus, Frank was referring to Brock's current WWE career, not his time in the UFC.
The bare minimum comment was about Lesnar in the WWE
You can train striking without getting punched. In fact, most people spar way to much.
What Mir did to Nogeiras arm was just insane!
Brock is my fav wrestler and frank vs brock in ufc was good

Brock was born to be an athlete 💯 WWE or UFC, doesn't matter! The man's a BEAST and constantly puts his health on the line to entertain us!
I can’t get over his right arm. I’ve watched the full interview. Every time he talks, I can’t help but stare at that arm.
