For some reason this reminds me of the John Saul book 'The Unloved' where the seemingly normal adult children start turning into the abusive parent. It's the only horror book I couldn't finish. There's nothing scarier in this world than toxic family dynamics. Good on OP for getting out! 💀

If the ex and her dad are signing off on their behavior, then whether they actually behave that way themselves, they suck, then they are also Asscon 1. Especially the ex: She blamed the "poor service," not her mother's behavior. Maybe the dad did as well, but we don't have confirmation of that.

This story HAS to be total fiction. It stretches any semblance of reality to the nth degree. No one that acts like that mil would live long enough to behave like that horrible woman without getting her lights punched out by several people in that restaurant.
Unfortunately, I can confirm that people like this exist and are so used to being human bulldozers that nobody wants to get in the way or deal with that self destructive drama. It's sooo much easier to pretend that they don't exist. They thrive on attention so take that power away 😂
