OP should have sadly hinted to babysitter that she had an STD and was afraid to tell her husband. Then stand back and observe some drama. I would use a stop watch and time how long it took for babysitter to confront OP's husband.

This is disgusting...regardless of if Ella was "coming onto him", it takes two to tango, and he did not have to respond, feed into it, etc. As someone who is older and MARRIED, he should be accountable and act respectfully regardless of Ella's actions. Especially with her young age, and she being the daughter of one of his friends, I imagine OP's husband is a good bit older and may have known Ella since she was a minor. This sounds like OP's husband is a predator who has been grooming this girl and much more the problem here.. so sad OP is planning to stay AND not telling Ella's dad - at very least, she should tell the dad so he can try to protect his daughter.

I find it odd that husband knew his wife was suspicious BEFORE he wanted to buy Ella a CAR for Christmas! The husband was just feeding OP's jealousy and insecurity whether or not he's cheating with the babysitter. The better move would have been if OP had seemingly ignored the behavior; I bet that would have shut it down really fast without her having to quit her job to be home. Kinda understand the need to bury it for awhile. She mentioned she had two toddlers. Depending on what type of toddlers they are, the idea of the help from her husband is more beneficial. My kiddo was a very easy going and independent kid when he was a toddler. My sister was a horror. A little nudist escape artist. I’ve seen absolute nightmares of children on Super Nanny. Maybe when they’re older and in school, she’ll rethink everything.

If OP tells dad it will also highlight several things: 1. Who actually told husband about Ella 2. By the reaction of the dad, OP will know a lot more about the dynamics (if Ella is a liar/hasnt told her dad that she isnt babysitting no more) and confirm the husband is lying and gaslighting) 3. When husband gets "beat up' by the Dad. When husband reacts to OP it will tell her everything about her husband and sadly if the husband has been up to more than one attempt of cheating since the 3month part. OP I know this hurts but you need to know the facts for your MH denying it or not wanting to know will make you feel like you are the one to blame (you're not), change your behaviours (which will give validity to your husband comments of gaslighting, to husbands POV) and make you miserable and poorly. If you want this to work (I think you'll be surprised by yourself if you divorced your husband) then you need to go to marriage counselling to sort this out and to protect your MH. 🌹💚

Okay, controversial comment time (cracks knuckles): ESH. Dusty's spot on here -- OP is a Pick-Me Girl who believes that being "picked" is more important than leaving a toxic relationship that WILL affect her children. She gave her husband carte blanche when she "forgave" him for cheating when they were first dating. Once a cheater, ALWAYS A CHEATER. Unfortunately, 90% of women, especially those who absolutely CAN do better and are in the rare cat-bird seat of being financially independent, will sacrifice their money, kids, and even lives for the sake of a man who too often views the relationship as transitory or on HIS terms. And too often, he's right because women like OP will give themselves every excuse in the book to avoid doing the healthy thing. Yeah, he's a loser, but she's sunk to his level by being so desperate to keep him. I bet he adds nothing to the relationship. I hope OP lets THAT sink in.

The reality is babysitters/nannies and other child minders are often hit on by fathers because it's SO easy to see them as a replacement for the wife. There's a huge risk of sexual harassment on the job. Her behavior suggests she's realized this and is utilizing the quid pro quo for herself. If you don't want the wife to be mad???? Shoot it down, discuss it with her. If you do not, iot looks like you WANT to become the wife and the wife is doing the 100% correct thing to remove the disruption from her family.

When’s he voice for pain and her concerns, he shut her down, without giving a f***. Once you are married! There no room to be giving a damn about another family, and taking on a financial responsibility! She’s getting paid, she could’ve saved that money and bought her own car! And so what her car is old! And it’s still a car! You just don’t buy random people cars. Just because they have money doesn’t mean they own anyone.
