This episode was insane! I don't know what else to even say about it. Bravo to all involved! MTFBWY //SOCIALS// Twitter: / kevinreactstv Instagram: / kevinreactstv
My interpretation is, once Mae realized her master was there, she knew her master would kill them all. So for Mae, surrendering to the Jedi became a death sentence, rather than an escape. Thus her trying to run from everyone.
Well that was shocking. They made it so obvious Qimir is the Master that we ended up dismissing the idea. Double twist. They also added all the nameless Jedi so we'd expect them to die, making the death of main characters even more shocking. I appreciate the real stakes, which we haven't seen since Rogue One. We know Mae screamed and then we heard the lantern break. I am so curious to learn what really happened on Brendok.
Right?! I almost thought it was too obvious. And we’ve just been conditioned to think that our main stars will make it through, especially mid season. The episode really did a great job of playing on that. Hopefully we get some more clarity on the Brendok situation next week.
Loved this episode. Came in expecting the nameless jedi to die and for the umbramoths to help all the heroes escape, but was horrifically surprised lol. Also, the malfunctions with the lightsabers were caused by Qimir's helmet and gauntlets being made of cortosis, which temporarily disables lightsabers. Also, did you notice the kylo ren leitmotif at the end? I'm wondering if qimir is the start of the knights of ren, hence the "call me a sith" and not "I'm a sith".
I just learned what Cortosis is and what a threatening metal for the Jedi. I saw someone post a side by side online of the Kylo theme, it would be really cool to see this be the birth of the Knights of Ren. Such a fantastic episode!
Great reaction! I have a theory on Mae's turning herself in. She knows her sister is alive, so she was lied to. She probably thought better about taking on a Wookiee Jedi, unarmed. Because she thought her master was nowhere near them, she figured that strength of a Wookiee Jedi, and all the other Jedi, would be her best defense...all knowing that if she failed to kill Kelnacca, she said her master will kill her. THEN, when she finds Kelnacca already dead without much of a struggle, extreme fear and panic set in and she didn't think any of them could protect her, so she gave up her plan entirely. And, impersonating Osha could get her back on her master's good side. Square one. Keep up the great work!
What's up dude! Yeah, it was almost too obvious that it was him, but I'm not mad about it lol feels like the show is really finding it's stride. Can't wait to see the rest.
Thanks, Kevin! 🌑 It's great to see the energy absorption metal *cortosis* brought into live-action. 🔸 Did you notice a bit of the 'Kylo Ren' theme played as 'Qimir' knelt and covered 'Osha' with his cloak, near the end?
I just learned about Cortosis this morning and it's so cool! It's like super-Beskar lol. I didn't catch the theme at the time, but I saw a side-by-side online and it's so cool. Definitely ties Qimir to the Knights of Ren, maybe the founder/initial member. Still so much to learn about him!
@@KevinReactsTV Sort of, beskar repels energy... while cortosis absorbs it. But it will be interesting to see if they expand upon it. I'm ready for more!!!
Totally get that, and it's smart. Especially for a show like HoTD. Didn't think that this show would go down that path too, it was a pleasant surprise. Completely raises the stakes!
She was being truthful to Kamir. Mae just does anything that will save her *ss so she doesn’t have consequences for any of her actions. The moment the Jedi say they are going to arrest her, she starts running again. Later she tries to get her sister to be on her side and when she doesn’t she betrays her sister, pretends to be her and continues to deceive. That seems it is all she knows. osha was right. Remember the last words Mae said to her sister was “I will kill you.” Because OSHA wouldn’t do what Mae wanted. Mae wants to control Osha and won’t accept consequences.
Yeah, she is quite the interesting character. What is her end game? I can't wait to see how both of their stories play out in the situations they're currently in.
Best episode so far. I have to ask though with a budget so high, and a decent cast of people, wouldn’t the show have been way better if they took their time with each episode, given more time for character development, the deaths would have been way more heartfelt. Qimir in one episode, despite how poorly they tried to conceal his truth, was leagues more menacing than kylo ren. There’s moments of brilliance here kind of ruined by underwhelming storytelling. 6/10 for this one. Qimir is top character, Sol in second. Jecki was also my favorite, I didn’t like Yord but his death was so brutal I felt so bad.
@@depressedutchmandid my response to this get deleted? I sure hope not considering I gave a sound response. In short, I gave a sound and honest response to the reply above. Basically I have to be honest when I see a show and give my thoughts and it’s been underwhelming, this episode being a highlight, but not saving the show. Please do not delete comments like this as it hurts the argument and blatantly shuts down honest discourse.
That's a fair criticism. I didn't delete any comment I see both of yours, not sure who you tagged in the second one though. I do agree that it would be nice to have these episodes run around 40-45 minutes. That hasn't affected my enjoyment though. I'm still waiting for the season to be over to judge the storytelling as a whole, because I think there is much more to tie this whole thing together. I appreciate the constructive criticism!
@@KevinReactsTV that’s the thing about the story is it’s been stretch out for a series when a movie would have been solid here. But yeah, same, overall review at the end, so far it’s at a 4/10 for me.
What an insane episode, how is everyone doing?

That's a good point! Totally makes sense
@@KevinReactsTV The threat of Death is a hell of a Game Changer Brother! 😬
Noooooo!!!! Can't believe we lost Jecki 😭. But super impressed with the saber fights & the cortosis!
That was shocking! But agree, that was one of the best lightsaber battles we've seen in live-action. It was so well done!
@@KevinReactsTV 100%! Thanks for your super reaction 🤗
Mae is fighting against being arrested because her master showed up and is intent on killing her for betraying him. She’s trying to flee
Yeah that makes a lot more sense!

That’s a good theory, and I’d bet that you’re right! It will be interesting to see how the Aniseya swap plays out!
What up brother! This was my favorite episode so far. I called who the master was by episode 2 but it was still a good reveal.

The material causing the sabers to short out is called Cortosis. It’s been mentioned in legends stories before
Sorry. I see someone else mentioned it below.
All good! It’s a cool material, I hope we see it used again!
I think Master Sol can’t tell it’s May right now because his mind is clouded with emotion and it’s blinding his force connection
That could be, his emotions were (understandably) running wild in this episode!
Finally someone pointing out to the Jedi that they bring children to battles lol
Love Manny and his portrayal of Qimir
He's been fantastic!
Best reaction I have seen yet!
Thank you so much, I’m glad you enjoyed it!!
