Why obey instructions coming from Allah? But there's no good reason to think they _are_ from Allah, is there? As far as I can tell, there seems to be no good evidence that Allah even _exists_ outside of believers' imaginations.
If an all-powerful god _did_ exist, and if he was going to torture me for eternity for not obeying him, then sure, it absolutely _would_ be wise to obey his instructions. What choice would I have?
But *what* instructions? Gods never give us instructions. Gods never tell us anything _themselves._ It's always human beings telling us contradictory things about gods - typically, about whichever god or gods they were taught to believe as a child.
Gods are supposed to be all-powerful, right? So why do they need _you_ to tell us what they think and what they want? Why do human beings peddle different gods for their own status and financial gain? They can't _all_ be right, because they contradict each other. (They _can_ all be wrong, though.) So, if there really _is_ an all-powerful god, why does he never show that?
Sure, I'll obey any god who threatens to torture me forever, if he's too powerful to fight. (And any god worth the name _would_ be too powerful for me to fight.) _Of course_ I would. That goes without question. But I'm not going to obey some human being just _claiming_ that his god wants me to do something. That would be silly, wouldn't it?
