I broke my rule of watching a review before getting a figure I plan on reviewing, but I absolutely couldn't stand it. Love it. But the face, you ever see the pic of old Harrison Ford where they've split it to show him doing two emotions at once? This face reminds me of that. The eyebrows don't match each other, neither do the eyes or the two halves of the mouth. You look at the left and he looks a bit angry. The right looks kind of relaxed. But I still can't wait, I need this. Maybe two, put the head on Hoth Han and then use the body for a ceremony Luke. Okay, maybe I need three. Or four.
I completely forgot about that 'split face' pic, good thought there. He's obviously the best Han we've gotten so far, I wish we had a face print OT Lando to go with him, and of course Bespin Leia is even more necessary now...hell now we need an updated Bespin Luke. It never ends.
We're getting the Skiff Guard Lando with photo real, but I don't think the hair matches his ESB look. So now I'm hoping Bandai is planning a big ESB 40th blow out and gives us a Lando. Yup, it never ends...ever ever....
The Fwoosh I agree with what you said about the face split picture. I was thinking the same thing. Also if you look at the Jaina Solo figure, she has the same sort of smirk. One more thing to add is that the "face split" pic we are referring to is Ford at a much older age than ESB. It's almost if his face sculpt here needs a face lift. His cheeks are a little too droopy. I feel like they tweaked the Force Awakens old man Han and forgot to de-age him enough.
I like the head sculpt but I think you guys are right in that the two halves don't come together properly . I think I might take some paint off the right side of the bottom lip . The bad news is its good enough that I'll want 4 for head swaps.
Finally got this figure today and I have to say that it's a home run!!! Personally, i think the headsculpt is an excellent likeness of a young Harrison! It looks far more like him when you have the figure in hand than it does in photos and video. Certainly better than anything that has been done in this scale or smaller to date (except for maybe SH Figuarts).
I think this is the best Harrison Ford head sculpt I've seen for a mass retail figure.I can't see anything wrong with it.You cant' judge these things against a real face ,shiny plastic doesn't show imperfections in the skin etc...Also Harrison has a slightly asymmetrical face anyway.I can't wait to own this.
One of the best lightnesses captured; and definitely the best (non 1/6 scale) action figure likeness of Harrison Ford ever. The eyes, eyebrows, mouth...perfection. So not sure what you and some of the commenters are talking about. Have you looked at their face lol? It's very asymmetrical. Half their face is pissed, the other half happy. It's not like that with every photograph of Ford, but it's definitely a face they make. So yeah, they nailed it perfectly.
I think its an outstanding fig...and I also think each individual profile are pretty spot on...however they look like 2 totally different profiles of same person put together to make one look from the front and it doesnt work perfectly...in curious how they made this sculpt...but over all its another $20 bargain as far as I'm concerned...but I do want the exclusive version instead of this one...ill get this one to open
In the 3.75 line Hasbro repainted the TFA Han in Beapin colors in a 2 pack with Boba Fett, and that head on the Black Series looks like Old Han with a brown hair piece on it.
That Han was actually a Re-release of their Standard 5 Poa Han from a few years before, Not a TFA Han. The biggest problems with him are the Face Paint/Eyes. I went through a Dozen before finding a Good one (but still not perfect) the other problem is his Neck, or Lack Thereof. I popped off the head and added a bit of paper towel in the Ball Socket until I got a result that Greatly improved the overall look of the figure.
Toy Bro You're right, that 3.75" Boba Fett is One of the Best 3.75" Boba Fett figures Ever produced. The Sculpt is Phenomenal. I only wish they had done some paint on the Jetpack.
2 questions. What angle does the arm come up to, is it only 90? You tend to run past that. Also, same question for the Rebel trooper. Thanks. This is def getting a custom head.
What the hell are you talking about? He totally looks like Harrison Ford. As for the proportions or aspects of his face. He is always loaded with sarcastic smirks, half smiles and facial expressions. Good review but he definitely looks like Ford. Nothing off about his face.
Very nice! They certainly nailed the proportions and the neck articulation is a great touch. I also appreciate how they’re dialing back on the shiny plastic. I see what you mean about the head though. It’s a little off... almost a little too soft or young looking. Great review!
Michael Zacher I'm just not a Figuarts Fan. I Love that Hasbro have Seriously Stepped Up their Game, and are So Much Better Looking, than They Have Ever Been, and that They're Still Improving Their Articulation, like Han's Double Dumbell Neck and Head articulation. Even Figuarts Face Sculpts aren't Perfect. I don't like their ANH Han and their TLJ Rey Looks almost Anime'ish. For Me, This is The Best Bespin Han I see us getting, and for $20, I'm Ecstatic.
Robert Bruffett completely understand and ever since the new face printing my interest for the human characters from Black Series has been reinvigorated.
Michael Zacher Yeah, I know what you mean. When you stand them side by side, like his comparison with the original Black Series ANH Han, and TFA, Old Man Han, they don't even look like the same company made them now. I thank Hasbro for listening to the fans and collectors. They asked us what we wanted almost 2 years ago, and it was pretty much unanimous that we wanted better paint apps, and improved articulation and better materials, and they have Definitely put forth the effort. Looking back at my very first Black Series figure, Rey Jakku with Bb-8, and standing her next to my Island Journey Rey, and even my Jedi Training Rey, it's like looking at 3 different brand of figures almost. It almost makes me want to display the New Figures on a shelf by themself. It would be Fantastic if We could get older figures redone with this new tech, but I'm a few thousand dollars into the line now, so I'm going to love what I've got and love the New Ones even more. Cheers.
SIX Han Solos but not ONE Battle Droid 5 years in. How would most of you feel if we had zero stormtroopers? We’re missing characters like grievous, dooku, padme, and mace. How would you feel (OT first fans) if we got four padmes and no Leia? Or six obi wans and one han?
TheMagicalMuffinDruid I definitely agree with Count Dooku i want him so bad. I also really wanted Mace but then i got the Shf figure arts Mace 'awesome figure $60 bucks but worth it along with Obiwan Episode 1 n 2 n Episode 2 Anakin. I just cudnt wait on Hasbro 'i wanted those characters to bad 'n Shf also revealed a Count Dooku that looks so good.
Surprised the figure is out before sdcc, but knew it was going to be released sometime. It just lacks the mask and the mynok, and how would you display the mynok if you took it out of the box anyways. Hasbro is missing out by not remaking older figs and not releasing the figs fans want.
How did you get it before being generally released? I agree with you, the overall figure looks great, but the face is a little off. I am now debating if I really want to get The SDCC exclusive. $35 is almost the price of 2 figs...and with so many good ones coming down the line...I don’t know...well...if I do get it at the end, I can always hide his face with the mask...lol. Great review, BTW!
This wave is somehow hitting local comic shops. I got the 3 new figures, Han / Rebel Trooper / Beckett, for retail price. Reviews of the other 2 coming this weekend.
I think he looks good. I see Harrison Ford MORE than I DON'T. It is good enough for me. I only look to Hot Toys and Figuarts to 100% nail the sculpt...Hot Toys, in particular. For Hasbro, I'm pleased. Was he still retailing for 19.99 or have they bumped up the cost yet?
Its certainly "good enough" for sure. I think this figure is going to be divisive. I just can't seem Harrison too well here. As far as price, I got this and the rest of the new figures in this wave for retail from my comic shop, they don't bump prices.
Really too bad about that head sculpt - it's too wide in the middle and looks too round as a result. It reminds me more of Henry Winkler head on, so I am dubbing this figure "Fonz Solo".
Eyebrows. That's what's throwing off the likeness. Harrison Ford's eyebrows sit very close to the top of his eyes. Plus, they need to be a lighter brown.
Ran across this one in Gamestop today & no different from my original comments on this disappointing fig. The face is Dan Akroyd rather then Harrison Ford & has little to no resemblance to Harrison Ford. Easy pass unfortunately (as been waiting for this version of Han to be issued for many Moons). Hasbro rep. in charge of approving face sculpts - get some glasses brah….
It's so weird, the right side of the face looks just like Ford but the left looks nothing like him. Our left and right I mean, and the lips look too big, eyebrows are too thick.
Agree, face likeness is not good at all. Looks more like Dan Akroyd than Harrison Ford IMO. As a result, major disappointment for a much anticipated fig. & no plans now to pick this one up. Not wasting money on Hasbro human fig.'s that r not close to screen likeness (a/k/a most human fig.'s Hasbro has previously issued). Was hoping they had their past human fig. face likeness issues fixed with new face print tech. but apparently not. Uugh….Thanks for a solid review.
Agree on Veers face likeness being very good. Not so sure on Piett, initial promo pics the likeness looked off some to me but saw a review earlier today & likeness seemed to be better. Will have to wait until I view that one in the box. Would have rather Hasbro missed on those guys rather than Han Bespin. Hopefully the misses will be few going forward with the new face print tech. they are using.
+VNISHPT 70 Piett with his hat on at least looks particularly great once you position the hat correctly, but the promos for him didn't do it justice. But yeah, Veers as a whole, 10/10 figure, even with some of the quirks with mine lol

The Fwoosh Ceremony Luke good idea
The reason I think it looks off is because his lips seem to be off to the side making him look a bit awkward when you look at him from the front.
planted prism That's what I thought too..the lower lip looks a little too pouty, and off to the left of his face.
Does that head fit on the New Hope Han Solo figure?
I think the sculpt is good. It's not that far off and leagues better than the ANH version
I like the head sculpt but I think you guys are right in that the two halves don't come together properly . I think I might take some paint off the right side of the bottom lip . The bad news is its good enough that I'll want 4 for head swaps.

the holster are glued to the leg...(young-bespin-old han) so that's why i still love my new hope han solo BS :D
Great review. Great presentation and above all I appreciate that you're a normal collector unlike others. Subscribed
Haha thanks dude. I'm not sure I'm "normal" but I catch your drift. I just collect what I like and talk about it. Thanks for watching.
Han Solo is my favorite of all time he'd look next to my Thor and White Ranger
Harrison Ford doesn't have Tom Selleck's eyebrows. SHF did not bother to give their ANH Han Solo eyebrows and it looks great. Nice video!

Love the neck articulation!!

The lip thing would be incredibly easy to fix. Just a drop of finger nail polish remover then add a bit of paint yourself.
Really like this fig!! Thanks for an incredibly early review!
Great review. Does the head sculpt on this fit the A New Hope figure?
In the 3.75 line Hasbro repainted the TFA Han in Beapin colors in a 2 pack with Boba Fett, and that head on the Black Series looks like Old Han with a brown hair piece on it.
That 3.75 Han, if its the one I think you're talking about, is ROUGH. The Boba on the other hand is absolutely amazing though, go figure.
Knight_of _Ren 789 the Absolute WORST Han Hasbro have done is their Star Killer Base, 3.75" Black Series figure. That figure is Horrible!
Nice first review on UA-cam
What the hell are you talking about? He totally looks like Harrison Ford. As for the proportions or aspects of his face. He is always loaded with sarcastic smirks, half smiles and facial expressions. Good review but he definitely looks like Ford. Nothing off about his face.
Bro when coming out to the public??
Good job men!
I'm thinking sometime after SDCC, but its hard to know for sure with Black Series sometimes.
Very nice! They certainly nailed the proportions and the neck articulation is a great touch. I also appreciate how they’re dialing back on the shiny plastic. I see what you mean about the head though. It’s a little off... almost a little too soft or young looking. Great review!
I had a discussion with a friend late last night and "young looking" is what came up when we tried to figure out why he looks off.
Agreed, too soft and “young looking”.
So Toy Bro, I guess you agree with Princess Leia that Han's a scruffy looking Nerfhearder? Ha,ha!
It's the lower lip too far off to the side that makes the face look off to me. I'm fine waiting for Figuarts to eventually do a Bespin Han.
Michael Zacher exactly, it's too pouty and off to the left of his face.
Robert Bruffett yup looks odd, not horrible, but like I said I'll wait for a Figuarts Bespin Han!
Michael Zacher I'm just not a Figuarts Fan. Man I'd kill for more prequel stuff, droids included.
A few I forgot to mention: Ahsoka but from CW, ventress, cad bane
TheMagicalMuffinDruid I definitely agree with Count Dooku i want him so bad. Hi! Great review, does it come with the finger hand? Greetings
No, thats unique to the SDCC exclusive version.
Ok, thanks so much!
Surprised the figure is out before sdcc, but knew it was going to be released sometime. It just lacks the mask and the mynok, and how would you display the mynok if you took it out of the box anyways. Hasbro is missing out by not remaking older figs and not releasing the figs fans want.
Yeah, I'm not really sure why it's out, but it definitely seems to be in a small capacity. I've only heard of comic shops getting it so far.
Where do you get those figures so quickly before they're in stores? regards
They, for some reason, hit comic shops last week. Bespin Han has been found in a Walmart though already from what I've heard.
THIS IS A MUST HAVE GET WHILE YOU CAN I WILL SAY THAT !!!
Toy Bro Cool.
To me he does look like Harrison Ford no complaints.
Hon solo looks like he had a stroke lol
AHHHH I need this HOW do you already have it?!?
Really too bad about that head sculpt - it's too wide in the middle and looks too round as a result. It reminds me more of Henry Winkler head on, so I am dubbing this figure "Fonz Solo".
THE PRICE ON THIS FIGURE IS GOING TO SKYROCKET !!
He looks like Dan Aykroyd 🤔
From The Weekly comment
How did you get it so fast
Local comic shop got this entire wave. Beckett and Rebel Trooper reviews coming this weekend too!
I got this last week in LA.... Pretty random!
The reveiw on the black series are cool but name one figure that is a human character that Hasbro has done justice too??????
What the hey? Nice early pick up bro!
His mouth is well off, but overall figure looks ok
Eyebrows. That's what's throwing off the likeness. Harrison Ford's eyebrows sit very close to the top of his eyes. Plus, they need to be a lighter brown.
the eyes...is lil bit too big, make it not resembling Harrison ford

I'm gonna vouch for General Veers and Admiral Piett because those two have spot on faces, especially with their respective headgear on.

Now THAT IS HAN SOLO not that very very very CHEAP IMITATION ONE FROM THE SOLO A STAR WARS STORY THAT FLEA MARKET SOLO FROM CHINA!!!
Bobro never go to details like a look at the blaster stupid toy bro
