I think what makes some figures overrated is not a problem with the figure but a lack of supporting characters to use in a diorama or to just enjoy playing with. Some many characters have been ignored in the modern lines you cant make a good representation of most scenes in the the shows.
For the next black series banger might I recommend Count Dooku. He has one of the best likenesses in the line, appropriate soft goods for the cape, movie accurate paint job and good articulation. Highly underrated figure in my opinion.

I have a huge soft spot for the Tartovsky CW cartoons so that helps alot with this fig. All critiques however are valid! Another excellent choice for an upgraded Archive version.
It is a nice looking figure and i dont really mind the wrong head. It is very expensive nowadays tho and as a customizer its not that hard to get a good obi wan head and just customize a nice new clone body. Getting the cape identical to the original figure would be hard but it doesnt have to be identical
This is one of those figures that I always wanted but could never find, even though I've never seen that version of the Clone Wars I still really like the look of it. It's such a shame that they used that outdated body for the figure and that they continue to use it to this day.
Since I own the 2D Clone Wars Walmart figures, I do want this figure; but I rather have one on the 2024 clone body. Love the new intro to the series, another great video.
This came out before I was into the line. I remember seeing the box and getting excited by the name be the 03 series is what got me into the franchise, immediately lost interest when I noticed there was no mullet lol
This is unfortunate. I really like the Tartakovsky CW show. Maybe I can kitbash this figure with the new clone and an old Kenobi head and cloak. It won’t be the same, but it would probably be cheaper. Plus this was one of my grails unfortunately. Emphasis on was.
It might just be cheaper! It's just hard to kitbash because you need the sculpted "puck" shaped things that hold the cloak in place on the front part of the torso. -Justin
I love it even tho it is a blunder. I found it when I first started getting into the line heavy. I watched a review and wondered if my walgreens had him. Found 4 that day and bought 2.
kinda happy somebody has finally admitted the obi-wan isn't too great. IMO, i feel everybody got hyped (including myself) about this figure due to the obi-wan head and the capabilities of using this head on perfecting an Ep 3 Obi-wan and somewhere the message of the greatness of the head got confused with the figure as a whole and now the community just loves a relatively bad figure.
Got this on eBay in a bundle with CW mace and Fordo for $65, and yeah it’s definitely not a great figure, but I’m happy to have it in the collection. Also not to be super nit picky but I don’t think the saber you showed in the video was the one that came with this figure, I don’t remember the hilt looking like that, or being quite that bendy. But my figure is packed up now so I can’t check, so I might be wrong.
I was wondering if someone would've noticed that! After we shot, took photos, edited, etc. I did realize that it isn't the original Obi saber. I have so many Obi-Wans that I actually gave him one of the better hilts/blades. -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement nice, yeah mine broke too so it’s definitely an issue, But that’s why I remember very specifically what that saber hilt looked like lol
@@OutOfTheBasement Update - I cancelled my preorder for this figure at BBTS today as soon as I saw the Obi-Wan and 212th clone trooper two pack drop. That Obi-Wan is just a rerelease of the 2021 figure and definitely seems like a much better figure to me than the Tartakovsky design. I'm glad it dropped before my BBTS order was fulfilled!
Great video fellas! People ain’t gonna like this one… but alas, it’s the truth! The old Clone body is terrible and those inaccurate details can’t be looked past. I feel like people are more in love with the idea of this figure rather than the figure itself. It’s really cool to see an Ewan McGregor likeness on a 2003 Clone Wars style Obi Wan, but that doesn’t make the figure good! While I do like this outfit more the 08 TCW Obi Wan is for sure an infinitely better figure!
Right but the point of that part of the video is that 3D Clone wars Obi is cheaper on the aftermarket and is a much better figure. Thanks for watching! -Nate
Not hating on you guys, actually agree with your opinion regarding articulation and accuracy but yet it remains one of my favorite figs in the black series. Always enjoy your content even when you’re shitting on one of my favorite figs 😂
That's the beauty of UA-cam, Brian! We can all disagree and still get along. It's just putting our opinion out there for the world to see. We all share our thoughts. Appreciate your support! -Justin
This is a Hasbro issue. They're not in the business of manufacturing high quality collectibles that so many adults buy. They are in the business of cost cutting, mass produced, cheaply made, low quality children's toys. You get what pay for, in that regard. It's why I no longer collect domestic brand figures, because they're made with materials ment for children to play with. And the manufacturing process is designed to save money, not produce a quality product.
Had I not lucked up on an eBay auction for $42 I would not own this. I agree out of all the figures I own this body is the worst for articulation but…..collecting 🤷🏼♂️
I didn't realise it was on the old clone body I haven't bought this bought been on my wanted list think I will just still with my other clone wars obi wan thanks guys
Outdated articulation Inaccurate but great head Still my favorite character and an okay version of the figure, I was lucky enough to find it in Walgreens after school in 2019.
I think the reason i like the look of- and never was able to get.. him. Is a good looking figure is because of the older 3.75 one.. which was dogshit AWFUL LOL I sold that off years ago because it just didn't match any of my other figures (clones)
You guys just don't understand why this is such a banger of a figure. You just gotta remember that these literal actual children's toys are actually 💥i n v e s t m e n t s💥 and provided hasbro never rereleases or releases an actual good version of this figure, then I'll be able to sell all 500 of these I bought and buy myself a beach house. (Just because there are actually people who genuinely act like this, this is a joke btw)
Overrated is so subjective. A figure can be wonderfully made and come at a decent price but it has no connection to the one rating it. Nevertheless all they hear about that figure is how great it is. It can then be overrated to the one who has no connection. The term is an overrated way of ranking. Rotten Tomatoes has made their own term up as they even know the term overrated is a problematic term. This Obi Wan with a good head sculpt and interesting soft goods is just not as fun as it could have been using the older body. Just as you said. I think the term overrated triggers people.
I don't really care if the term offends people, it's just a buzzword. Overrated from a lot of what I see from the Black Series community, meaning a lot of people in the community hold it in high regard. I definitely want a reaction out of those people, lol. -Justin
Hello Nate and Justin, to answer your question, yes you are both nuts. LoL 😂 I honestly have no opinion on this figure because I've never managed to get either of these versions of Obi-Wan from Clone Wars. Needs to be on a better body with an accurate head. -Justin
It is a nice looking figure and i dont really mind the wrong head. It is very expensive nowadays tho and as a customizer its not that hard to get a good obi wan head and just customize a nice new clone body. Getting the cape identical to the original figure would be hard but it doesnt have to be identical
Of course anyone can customize a figure and make it better, but that isn't the point. -Justin
This is one of those figures that I always wanted but could never find, even though I've never seen that version of the Clone Wars I still really like the look of it. It's such a shame that they used that outdated body for the figure and that they continue to use it to this day.
I really hope they redo this one! I love the design. Thanks for checking out the video, David! -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement No problem! I'd love a redo of this one on the 2023 Clone body it would actually be a good figure then.
is this the same body as gree and like wolffe
Yep, old clone body. -Justin
Since I own the 2D Clone Wars Walmart figures, I do want this figure; but I rather have one on the 2024 clone body. Love the new intro to the series, another great video.
I really do hope they put one on the new body! -Justin
The lightsaber is also the wrong hilt, he should have his TPM/AotC one, not the RotS one.
Good point! Thanks for watching! -Nate
"Bangers, Blunders, Midders...Overrated figures" Thats Bars right there 😂

@@OutOfTheBasement 😂🤣
To bad we did not get him in the clone wars Tartakovsky’s card back with totally updated parts
I'd get that! -Justin
This came out before I was into the line. I remember seeing the box and getting excited by the name be the 03 series is what got me into the franchise, immediately lost interest when I noticed there was no mullet lol
WE NEED THE MULLET
Hey you like what you like! Nothing wrong with that. -Justin
BUT I HAVE ( 2. ) OF THEM....and I could have had 3 but I didn't wanna overdo it..
Naw go for 3! -Justin
I was only moaning about obi-shinobi figures last night! I must have 11 of the barstards already and still need 5 more releases, including this.
Always room for more Obi! -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement J!! I love the background characters!!
Thanks for the heads up. This was a grail... now not so much.
You bet! You can still enjoy it and have it as a grail though. Don't let us ruin all the fun. -Justin
kinda happy somebody has finally admitted the obi-wan isn't too great.
Totally agreed! -Justin
I mean as inbox collector like most of the issues don't really apply to me but the price for incorrect piece fook that.
Even as an in-box collector, it's still a completely wrong figure with the head. -Justin
As usual great take and we'll done . Keep up the great work 🎉
Appreciate your support, Troy! -Justin
I'm guessing Hasbro had a bunch of 2013s left over and just swapped out the heads to get rid of them.
That's not how it works. They would've all been fresh production runs. -Justin
I think it’s a great fig for its time .. But I do remember you guys saying how great it was when you first picked him up lol ..
Yep, opinions can change! Thanks for watching! -Nate
This is so true ….
THEY'RE NOT READY FOR THE TRUTH! -Justin
But those clone wars Anakin and obi wan where impossible to find for most people including me
Right but the point of that part of the video is that 3D Clone wars Obi is cheaper on the aftermarket and is a much better figure. Thanks for watching! -Nate
@@OutOfTheBasement those two badly need a reissue because they never showed up near me but I didn't agree with you about the quality
-Justin
That is you guys opinion, not everyone feels and think like you do ..
Yep that’s how it works! Thanks for watching. -Nate
Never heard of an opinion? 😂 -Justin
I mean they had to use the shorter hair cut so his clone helmet that he doesn’t come with could fit.
I mean...if it actually came with the helmet I might buy this excuse. Lol! -Justin
That would be nice if they actually bothered to include a helmet.
They didn't.
You had your Record player on the wrong speed for the INTRO.......
'Sail Barge Dance' was actually not pitch-shifted at all!
Yeah naw we love tons of Black Series figures, lol. -Justin
Enjoy them. I'm happy for you.
18000 congratulations. You guys are great to watch.
Thanks so much! -Justin
Digging the intro, great job guys
Much appreciated! -Justin
Had I not lucked up on an eBay auction for $42 I would not own this. I agree out of all the figures I own this body is the worst for articulation but…..collecting 🤷🏼♂️
Thanks for watching, Jonathan! -Justin
Need this on the new body with the AotC head
100%! -Justin
I didn't realise it was on the old clone body I haven't bought this bought been on my wanted list think I will just still with my other clone wars obi wan thanks guys
Appreciate you! -Justin
I like to watch you guys together because it’s obvious you guys are BFF’s, Boyz, ridaz 4 life! 😂
Appreciate the support! -Justin
Outdated articulation
Inaccurate but great head
Still my favorite character and an okay version of the figure, I was lucky enough to find it in Walgreens after school in 2019.
Appreciate you checking out the video, Jordan! -Justin
I think the reason i like the look of- and never was able to get.. him.
Is a good looking figure is because of the older 3.75 one.. which was dogshit AWFUL LOL
I sold that off years ago because it just didn't match any of my other figures (clones)
Thanks for checking out the video! -Justin
I always love Nate's band shirts. Love Behemoth!
Thank you! They are one of my favorite bands! -Nate
Nice new intro guys‼️👌 Also can we please please stop reusing the 2013 body? Just get rid of it! Nothing older then 2020 on🙏
Throw that 2013 mold in the trash! -Justin
Lmaoooo you almost had me for a second there! -Nate
loving the new intro 🥛
Thanks dude! -Justin
Men, I always thought the exact same thing!!!!!
Great minds think alike! -Justin
I missed out on this figure when it was released and now I'm glad I did!
Nice! -Justin
-Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement You little Devil J!! 😈 Eliciting a reaction with a contentious word!!?? It's a fiendish ploy!!
Hello Nate and Justin, to answer your question, yes you are both nuts. LoL 😂
I honestly have no opinion on this figure because I've never managed to get either of these versions of Obi-Wan from Clone Wars. They are both too expensive at this time so I don't have to own them. I'd rather have the Target exclusive version if I could find him at a decent price.
Thanks for sharing your opinions on this version of Obi-Wan Kenobi and putting this video together for us, I appreciate it. I'll catch you guys later. Take care, Tom
PS: I'm sorry but that blue milk looks disgusting. 🤢
You wanna get nuts? Lets get nuts! -Batman
@@OutOfTheBasement Where does he get such wonderful toys ?-Joker 🃏
Oh that's right, from BBTS-Tom
Yes, this figure is grossly overrated. It’s only the clone trooper body, which is its biggest sin, in my opinion. Of course it was a Walgreens exclusive, and it’s availability issues really but the main reason it so sought after I think.
Thanks for watching, Jeremy! -Justin
This figure isn’t that bad. I sold it for the high price and bought two good figures.
Why'd you sell? -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement it was a joke. I never got this got this figure. I have the 3.75” version, it’s a solid figure for it’s time
I was just thinking how nice woud it be to own this and then you guys drop this .😂

Blue milk intro was so awesome!!! 👏
Thanks dude! -Justin
I think that Obi Wan is accurate to one of the comics, not sure which one, but it is inaccurate to the 2D Micro series!
For sure! -Justin
@OutOfTheBasement Star Wars Adventures Tales from Vader's Castle is what that figure is based from, but it's a nod to that Clone Wars Obiwan at least

This is fiddling with the Dark side of YT!!
