I honestly cannot believe that repair. You went out of your way to describe how it's fixed right then you just go and self tapper and caulk a aluminum sheet over the damage 😭
They make a living ripping people off in this terrible economy. Top dollar for salvage/rebuilt vehicles…cmon now.
@@reaver357 id argue that one of the reasons rebuilt titles are hard to sell is because of repairs like this. Its a butcher job.
It's cosmetic damage - the repair makes it watertight - there was no damage to the frame, so what's the big deal with this repair? This video will be available to any potential purchaser, and they can make an informed decision. This will be a good deal for somebody as all campers are crap anyway. I wouldn't be scared of it.
I think the chequer plate should have been painted the body colour of the caravan and not black and get a matching one on the other side just to balance the look of it....

I don't usually say anything about repairs, but really didn't like this repair. Anyone can place a patch over damage to hide the damage. That down graded the value of the camper.

If you don't have your jump box and the batteries are dead, just plug in your light cord and it should provide enough power to run the jack and lights. Plus it will charge your battery on the way home. Bonus!

Kind of a quick and dirty repair but i'd wager its more solid than anything else you could have done. Even if you buy a whole sheet of the SMC siding it'll never match right.
To be honest, it's a quick repair for a small collision damage. Some will say it's not 100%. Chances are, the patch would most probably hold up for a good amount of time. It's definitely better than what it was. I'm just surprised you didn't attempt to straighten out the bumper at the end.

Camp in it and sell it. Next! Repair job is good enough for a camp trailer-someone will buy that and go camping-that’s the test if repair job is ok. Fun to get a good deal.

personally would have put the diamond plate on the rear and the other side to make it match .. i also would have painted it with black single stage automotive paint its still a good deal but do it right or don't do it at all
Plug in to your truck and your jack will have power
All you have to do to use the jack with a dead battery is plug it into your truck

Could you tell me what products you used to prep the diamond plat? I see you used scotch bright pads to rough it up. What did you prime it with?
Enjoyed this episode and it seems to me the metal repair is more sturdy than any other repair way. Trailers like this are not that strong as it is.
Make sure you’re using a pressure regulator

When you put the tape over the damage I laughed because that's about where I would have stood back & said job DONE.
@@peterwaugh9416 That's not ordinary tape. It's a membrane tape. Looks can be deceiving. It's a quick repair for minor damage.

Seems very cheap to me. Repair is not OEM but certainly looks OK to me. Wouldn't bother me at all.

Yeah, that looks little tacky, black and brown. I would’ve painted it brown matched it up And when you’re hooking it up to the truck, it’s a use your battery pack why don’t you just plug it into the truck
"Looks factory" BRO you used self tappers and didn't even space them consistently.
This is Hibachi Auto Body RV edition all day long. Imagine buying a car, boat, plane or anything else and using self tappers to randomly screw a metal plate over the damage.
That is the worst repair in Australia no one would accept rubbish work like that absolutely awful
Ya kno, I don't generally as a rule do comments as I get each person does things the way they best see fit!! As a craftsmen and one who takes more then just a fair amount of pride in my work and ability when I see what I feel is a Frankenstein job, sorry my friend I am gonna call em as I see em!! Yes you feel you did a good job however anyone who knows anything about rv's will surely know u el-cheapoed and butchered this repair!! Perfect example is in that u didn't even attempt to remove the stripe behind ur diamond plate or match the tan paint...oh and robbing the strip from the rv in the yard...I mean c'mon, how lazy can one get!! I also know u got this rig at a bargain basement price and I'm sure u didn't have a wish to sink too much into a repair...but...my friend u show us in ur videos and tell us to do things rite yet we just witnessed u cut corners huge!! So now I wonder what happens when the You Tube camera ain't rollin!! Granted u may have had a bit more then the few hundred bucks u did have into this repair but u could have gotten it for not much more then that!! Lets be clear tho..I get it..the idea is to not spend a small fortune on repairs...but by the same token..if ur gonna show and be a mentor to others...do it rite man..become the Holme's of homes..jus sayin!!!!!!! WTF it's not OEM or anything near professional. I was hoping for an invisible repair, in the UK we call this a bodge job. Sorry but that is bad bodges repair and has devalued the camper even more.
Not happy with this repair you should have used flat aluminum and painted it the same color as the camper or even got some fiber glass sheet and glued it with a seam at the top not a happy camper

Back panel needs relaminating a new piece / panel and side shoudl have been replaces to the slide, with a relief cut atop top right corner of slide, epoxying together and relaminated factory.
