always liked this one even for an RTS is pretty unique where you can control a character rather then clicking on everything. plus having co-op in a game like this was impressive

Bravo general Teddy, you really put up a fight for that base up North. It looks like a very solid game, based on initial impressions the game doesn’t look as complex as Ages of Empires or something similar. Thanks for that solid guide👍
Roger that first mate technician MashUP! Herzog is simple but still competitive. Matches are 20 - 30 minute bouts that remain engaging and balanced with a twangy audio and unique mech system. It’s definitely a classic favorite of mine and I’m so glad SEGA Ages brought it to the modern console.
Some interesting things I do with other units. - Armored cars are actually pretty good for defending against infantry, in my opinion. They can't take as much of a beating as tanks, but they are cheap to make and if you need a unit fast to defend against Infantry trying to walk into a small base, they do the trick. You can place a couple of them in front of those gaps and they block the entrance. - Bikes are pretty awful, but one use I found for them is the attack command against a base primarily guarded by Anti-Air units, mostly the ones that can only shoot planes, no turrets. They move to the base quicker than the other player can discover them most of the time and if you aren't paying attention, they can run through those units fast. Again, cheap to make, so works nicely there. - Boats are preferable for main base attacks in any level the water comes close to an enemy base. Especially against the AI. Ground units posted to defend have a harder time reaching the boat, so sometimes it comes down to the enemy fighter having to go back and destroy it. Otherwise, Tanks, Turrets, Infantry, and Anti-Air are the best units in game. This video does a good job highlighting that. Really enjoyed your take.
Some solid tips and tricks! Yeah boats are a must for water levels it’s a total pain dealing with endless spawns of enemy boats. I’m a pretty safe player so my commands are usually either the stationary or base attack commands. I also dislike investing in supply units if I don’t have to do the stationary command helps alleviate the need to refuel. I also prefer to invest upwards so like instead of armored car, go tank or instead of anti air missile, go anti air turret. Really appreciate your insights! Thank you :)
Yup! It plays well too. It has Online Battle which I haven't tried but is admittedly pretty cool. I'm not sure if it's just a ROM, M2 handled the port / remake and they have a solid track record when it comes to SEGA conversions.
@@Majora_T gonna have to give it a look once my Analogue system comes through, I have the original game, but it might be more convenient as a ROM. Solid video btw. 👍
@@Majora_T It’s really good, but at the same time not perfect. The PowKiddy RGB 30 has a large square 4” 720p screen, which is almost 1:1, so it’s really nice for playing GameBoy, GameBoy Color & Neo Geo Pocket Color games. Also plays all the 8Bit and 16Bit consoles very well because of their respective aspect ratios, and plays PlayStaion 1 very well too. GameBoy Advance is good, but it only utilises approx 65% of the screen because of the wider aspect ratio, so pretty much looks same as the original, so it doesn’t seem so impressive. It is perfect for playing PICO 8 games! Well worth the price 👌🏻

@retrobrahhh you only really need to generate infantry (with the base capture command), tanks and anti-air units. Cover those units with your fighter pilot and you should see progress in most matches.

Original doesn’t have a constant visible mini-map. You need to press c to see it while. C is the button you press to build units

Agreed! I enjoy going against the CPU but I imagine playing wireless with the Switch update would also be a blast.
