    Hi @heidi! I'm a hair specialist too and I use this Igora highlighter to do highlights and keep the hair healthy. I recommend you use a plastic cap next time and heat with a blow dryer every 10 minutes. The heat will help you to get the brightness faster.

    I completely understand your resistance and hesitation towards bleach now. So sorry that all happened. It's important to remember that a low volume bleach can be safer than a high volume high lift colour. Bleach does not have to be the devil. Watch out for the double 40 volume that is required with high lift; it can be very damaging as well. Thanks for sharing all of your experiences and products.

      Permanent color, including high lift shades, are a completely different chemical make up than bleach. They react differently to high developers than lightener because their properties are different. The lift from color isn’t based on developer but on the strength of the lifting agent in the the tube of color. Two color lines can give different levels of lift even if both mixed with the same developer because of this. Also, because permanent color has a lower ph, doesn’t light as much as bleach and only processes for a limited time (lightener works for as long as it’s wet) it is not as damaging as bleach. But that doesn’t mean bleach is evil! I love both 😅

    • @clipinqueen
      @clipinqueen 11 місяців тому +2

      @@bettylouis795 Very true - good points. But the fact you have to leave the double 30/40 mixture on your hair for an hour is quite damaging and will become more so over time if you overlap. Still, I agree with you.

    Hi Heidi, i also have a tip for the parts of your hair that are to blond/broken and ashy. Put a good hair mask on those parts before coloring. You could also put a toner/gloss on the whitest/greyest parts with golden tones for a few minutes so it fills the hair again with pigments. Something like the 10.03 from the kevin murphy gloss line

    Looking good 🌞. For a root smudge there are hire a few videos on UA-cam using Redken shades EQ. They are not traditional numbering tone system so need to know exactly which one would work and really look at the swatches. Also Guy Tang's range has something similar. It might be safer to go to an experienced hairdresser who knows how it will interact with your base colour/s and not overlap on the sections you cannot see! With multiple half head applications and nape left virgin, the hair cut tends to steer towards a mullet due the the trims needed on the front processed sections. You may be able to circumvent some of this with rich oil masks on the processed areas and keeping heat to a bare minimum 😀

  • @timschulze4162
    @timschulze4162 11 місяців тому +4

    So far so good with maintaining your blonde hair and get it a better condition.
    However I would advise you to overlap only once on the already orange band and that’s it. Further down will create more damage than I would suggest and also gives the blonde a muddy color - especially on fine hairline hair.
    You can also switch things up and use Igora highlift 12-0 around your hairline if you really have first greys so they remain a beige blonde color and not turn blue😅
    Second I would not process the color for longer than 50-60mins it should be done by that because if you overlap the alkalinity will be on the hair for so long one hour should usually give you time for lift AND deposit.
    I would honestly just use one hair mask and then a leave in and an oil. That’s it not two or three but just because the hair after coloring should be conditioned and then dried not washed and washed and washed. It is still fragile so rather use the treatments after 3 days each time you need to wash.
    Also I would use the Igora royal developer 30vol because this one was formulated for the use of the color. The blonde me is not wrong but formulated for the blonde me range so it’s ph level might be optimized for that line within Schwarzkopf. Other than that pretty good work 👍🏼

    Hi Heidi, it’s great to see you. Always great spirited . Omg, Heidi this reminded me of what happened to my hair in 2021. A bleach breakage really bad . I was literally traumatized. I purchased all the Olaplex complete line and used a year . Also hair mask vitamins like biotin . It’s a tough journey but you will see . Also I learned to blow out the top of my hair where the breakage is more visible, take some of the breakage and some of the long hair . Then blow out together . The breakage hair will blend in and less noticeable. You look amazing.

    kerastase has very good violet toning hair mask that is also very hydrating. Their purple shampoo is little bit drying but the clear shampoo for blondes is the best ever to brighten your hair and hydrate it at the same time. The condiotioner and leave in that range are very very good too (cica smth) :)

    Hey! Nice video. My advice would be to use 40V developer (it will lift better and is not any more damaging than 30V) and starting lightening from the back of the head, because there the hair is thicker and needs more time to process❤
    P.S Oh, and also it is advised not to use a cap because you will prohibit the chemical reaction from happening, because you are blocking the oxygen from interacting with the lightening mixture.

      Hi! I didn’t do my own hair before it was damaged. I went to professionals.

      @@heidiguttenberg did they do a test on a small part of your hair? If not then that's the fault there should have tested it to see if you had a reaction to it, sorry to hear bout that,

    It looks very brassy to me though, orange roots, yellow and some white spots on rest of the hair? Doesn’t look like an expensive blonde Heidi. I still think your hair would look so much better and healthier AND high quality color if you would put some lowlights in when your roots come in. Still beautiful blonde but more dimensional, expensive looking blonde ❤️😘

      A little empathy for the damage done to my hair, would be too much to ask huh?

      I’m sorry I didn’t mean to sound harsh but you used have beautiful hair , am just curious what’s happened, I haven’t watched ur videos. Having said that I would not use some no bleach products because they make your color look weird , almost green , regrow your natural hair please ❤

      @@beatowska It’s not that easy to go back to bleach or even go darker with the damage that was done. I’m trying to figure things out on my own, as an expert did this to me. You have no idea how difficult it has been for me and the level of resilience and courage it takes to still put out videos.

    But it looks very patchy and not good. It now looks as if you had three hair colors. One at the roots, another at the mids (where you applied your mixture) and one at the ends where you didn't do anything

      It’s a little tricky because of the damage that was done before, once it’s in better shape it’ll be easier. It’ll even out after a few washes

      @@brooke86 oh ok. But isn't "lifting" the same thing as bleaching?

    • @brooke86
      @brooke86 11 місяців тому

      @@cozyrosie no she used a high lift colour, it’s not as damaging as bleach but you can’t lighten coloured hair with it. Only on virgin hair basically. If your hair is coloured dark it won’t change anything so in those cases you need the bleach lightener

      @@brooke86 Hello! I had been waiting on this video from Heidi. I have had her same experience. My dark roots have grown out now, and like her I didn't want to go back for bleach. I ordered everything she's using here. Question: My roots are dark, about 2 inches now, from that point my hair is still blonde (now a faded blonde/yellowish). Can I apply the dye to my entire hair? Will it also lift the blondish/yellowish lengths? Thank you, Becca in Texas
