Buying Japanese Pokemon cards is a lot of fun - until you lose all your money.
Collecting Pokemon cards in 2021 became an extremely expensive hobby, largely due to rampant Pokemon card investing, Pokemon card flipping and Pokemon card scalping. For many collectors and TCG players, buying Pokemon Booster Boxes and Blister Packs was no longer affordable, and so many collectors started buying Single cards - Pokemon pack openings became a thing of the past. This was especially true for Japanese Pokemon card collectors, due to the extremely expensive Special Art, Alternate Art and Full Art Trainer chase cards.

So what happens when you spend 6 months buying Japanese Pokemon cards directly from Japan? Well, you end up with a lot of Singles from sets like Eevee Heroes, Skyscraping Perfect, Blue Sky Stream and Shiny Star V. And in some cases, you end up even further back, and before you know it you’re opening up Pokemon packs from the XY Era and Japanese Concept Packs.
That’s why today I decided to show you how much money you can make or lose from buying Pokemon cards in just a few short months. Let my mistakes be your lessons!

This was great to understand how much you payed and lost.
I don't buy singles myself, I prefer to try and get the card myself which I know costs a lot more money but it's the enjoyment out of opening them than anything else.
I have managed to accumulate a few Shiny Charizard Vmax's from Shiny Star V set which I'm keeping locked away hoping the prices will go up after they stop printing them, but I will always keep at least one of every card for my own personal collection.

A refreshing video and i hope you do more. I won a PSA 9 Eevee on the ball for $88USD in August 2021 and a recent sold slab sold for $40-50USD. I took a huge L in this particular purchase but I thought I share my L that not everything goes to the moon.
Ouch! Yeah it is a little bit like that. But honestly, a 40% loss that’s only $30 dollars isn’t too painful. Annoying, but doesn’t sting too much. Appreciate you as always mate!

We all learn the hard way as we collect more cards. If I waited 1 month from when I started to purchase celebrations I would probably save like $400-500? I remember buying a full set of the Japanese amazing rare for like $150, and now we can get em for much lower, but hey they all came back as PSA 10 so I'm pretty happy about that.

I've been trying to make a Mimikyu Master set of every Mimikyu card... unfortunately, there is one card which I will NEVER be able to afford, unless I win the lottery xD. The Scream series Mimikyu is that one card. Thus, I am collecting every ENGLISH Mimikyu because of that xD
