Selling Japanese Pokémon Card Singles - Pokémon Business

  • This week is a little different because I'm primarily selling Japanese Pokémon card singles. If you know me, you know that I specialise more in sealed product such as booster boxes, decks or sealed packs, so this is a little new to me. Usually when I get pokemon cards in, they're from people online in Japan and they're more often than not in terrible condition. This time, I went through my supplier who had contacts at a local store and bought in "bulk". Now we can talk about the definition of bulk all day long, but for this scenario I considered it bulk.
    In this video I wanted to talk about why buying in bulk is better for your business. If I bought only one card, I would be paying $20 on that one card for shipping, and quite obviously lose money. However, I bought 102 cards and that brought the shipping down to $0.83 per card, which isn't too bad. It isn't GREAT but it isn't bad either.
    Furthermore, this is a more relatable video for a lot of you. I know a lot of my videos talk about buying booster boxes and such from suppliers, and it quite simply isn't feasible to you. This one is more tailored to people who have less cash to spend. I spent just over $250 for all of those cards, which includes 3 day shipping from Japan (remember you can cut costs quite significantly by doing airmail which is 2-3 weeks longer but much cheaper).
    Thanks for watching as always!

    So, I love your videos but I would love a video that showed the process. Start with you sourcing the cards, packs, boxes. Then the shipping process. Following my how you organize them and list them. Finally the profit and loss of what you listed. Like, a month in your shoes with actual numbers.

    Do cards become worth more once PSA rated? I bought a few japanese booster boxes and got some cards that i see selling for 100s or more in a PSA 10, how difficult is it to sell them, am i doing the right thing buying a box, getting the nice cards then reselling them?

    • @PokeJebel
      @PokeJebel  3 роки тому

      It’s not guaranteed but generally PSA 9-10s are worth more than ungraded cards. Usually you have to be picky choosing the cards to get graded. Not every hyper rare is worth something. Cards which are inherently rare are usually worth more. So be careful what you grade

    Read the comments and liked your IG suggestion to look for contacts.
    I found some stores, but their prices are very close to ebay prices. I presume you don't buy from such stores?
    How do you determine if seller is overprices and good priced? I bet many these days are focused on wester market and price accordingly. So forth not much margin left after postage, tax etc.
