Whether the vehicle was stolen or not became moot the moment he drove off with cops hanging on his truck and ignoring warnings that he would be shot if he didn't stop.

They *confirmed* it was stolen, and then approached it.
Believed to be stolen, means it was reported stolen, listed a stolen in the system. Whether or not it was indeed stolen is something different. They confirmed it was the suspected stolen vehicle. So it is believed to be stolen and that is the reason for the interaction.
Oh? Were you on the force? Were you dispatch?
Were you at the station?
Were you the district attorney?
How do you know they confirmed it before killing him?
I think if he was white your comment would have been worded differently.
Rental vehicles are often falsely reported stolen for various reasons. Sometimes the report isn't rescinded after being returned late.
People shouldn't die without trial .

If the suspect takes off with them in the car (as was the case here), partially in the car or in front of the car, then said suspect risks the lives of the police. The right to trial is irrelevant because he wasn't killed as punishment, he was killed because he endangered the lives of the police.

@@frankcastle5737 No rights were violated. The truck was suspected of being stolen. The driver was required to comply with the officers orders. He didn’t. He kidnapped and assaulted two cops instead.

According to other reports, the cops attacked him without giving a reason and then tased him. For some reason that seems to have been censored out of the video, or the reporting is wrong.

If only he had gotten out and listened to the cops, he would still be alive. Even if the cops were wrong and he had the U-Haul legally, it could have been resolved and he would have been on his way or arrested for whatever, but at least alive. It's an ancient Smith and Wesson from the early 1900 era, nickel plated, featuring breach loading, above the hammer you lift up the cylindrical looking latch across the top and the whole barrel along with the cylinder is hinged at the front pin, some were single and some were double action, they came in various different calibers with some rounds not in production today, you'd be lucky to shoot it without getting yourself injured or killed.

His online obituary says he was a college graduate who at one point worked for the postal service.
As of today, I can't find a single report confirming whether this was the Uhaul they were searching for. If this was the stolen Uhaul, you think the police would have confirmed it already.
Ohio bureau of investigation opened an in inquiry, and his surviving family are suing for wrongful death, perhaps they aren't releasing anymore details because of this investigation and/or the litigation.

I don't know and since the suspect is dead, the police may not even do a criminal investigation of it because there is no one to charge anyway. What I do know however is that the suspect undid his seat belt, asked seemingly reasonable questions, but kept his right foot on a suspicious position that is probably the gas. With that in mind, the suspect was more likely than not up to something not good, but we can't tell for sure. Regardless, even if he was just late returning the truck, he was not shot for being black, he was shot for taking off with the police in the truck, therefore risking their lives.

How is it faulty?? A picture says more than a thousand words, and a video tells the whole story. See, if the dude did not steal it, he could have just simply show the police his rental contract. Right? But he took off with the 2 officers in the truck fighting with them... so do you still have doubt that the dude stole the uHaul?

The gun has no relevance to the case. It's unlikely that the cops planted it because in this case, there is no way for them to benefit from doing so. The police didn't see the gun until after they already shot him, meaning it cannot be used as a justification to shoot him.
what i didn't like about this, is the officers reaching into the vehicles putting their hands on.. they don't have privileged rights to lay their hands on the public whenever they say so...
