    In the winter I do cilantro pesto because my basil goes kaput, I'm too busy to bring it in and out the house lol. You should try it, if you like cilantro, I know not everyone does.

    Everyone makes pesto in a food processor. But the texture is better with a mortar and pestle, and it's just as fast. Seeing believing :-) Cheers Domenico.

    Celery leaf makes good pesto. Mild. Best with almonds. Save the pine nuts for basil.

    What can I substitute the nuts with. ? We are allergic To all nuts

      In that case, I think it's totally ok just to leave them out and maybe add in some more cheese.
