Back when cars were CARS, and people actually had choices when they went to dealerships! Glad to see these beautiful classics preserved, restored and appreciated! Congrats to the buyer/owner of this one-of-a-kind beauty!
@@martinshields5673 Totally won’t disagree with you, and don’t dispute the fact that the 70’s were a really bleak period for automobiles. Poor build quality, workmanship, and defects were quite common and it wasn’t just the U.S. but many European brands as well. There were plenty of people that bought brand new lemons, many of them beautiful mind you, but still lemons and yes, it seemed that most domestic cars self detonated right around the 60K mile mark...loose or broken motor mounts, worn suspension components, knocking rods and engine noises, rattles and more. But proper maintenance, restorative repairs, and the survivors owned by those that cared kept a handful of these beauties around for us to appreciate and admire today.
@@carlm8821 a lot of them weren’t made with high quality but some of them were and the ones that were made well are still around and obviously worth something today. I daily drive a very nice 1977 Buick LeSabre Sport Coupe and it’s one of the rare examples of an American made car of the late 70s which was given good attention to quality and detail. Buick really did a good job with them especially for 1977 (which is the most rare and desired year for them since they offered a V8 and performance suspension and handling) But usually the expensive well made American cars like the LeSabre Sport Coupe just didn’t sell as well because something cheaply priced with good gas mileage and mass production was more appealing to your average person. Well the cars from that era that sold by the boatloads usually sucked and aren’t around today, because it was quantity over quality. Only about 4 thousand Sport Coupes were made in 1977, people thought it was too reminiscent of 1960s coupes and they were eager to jump into the mess that was the 80s with their compact hatchbacks and junk. The guy I bought it from was the original owner and he used to do hot rods in the 50s so he wanted something new that was as far removed from what cars were becoming as he could find.
Lamp monitors, NOT turn signals. My dad had the very same 1 in '76. His had Astroroof ,& right hand mirror, every option 'cept Cruise Control, he chose the Speed Alert. His was pewter gray. He adored Buicks since the mid '60s. Every 2/3 years he buy em brand new. This was his LAST JOY, after that he chose Caddies because of the non shared engines & the fact that Caddies still could be had w/a V8. Beautiful car on video. Beautiful wheel/tyres combo.
Buick had some exceptions in the late 70’s that are still to this day very good quality cars. Finding quality cars from that era is harder than it is easy, but there are some that were well made and make for awesome classics today. I’d actually keep my 1977 Buick LeSabre Sport Coupe over say a 1963 Buick Riviera, because it’s much more rare and very unique. Sure it isn’t worth as much but I’m not selling it anyway. Not to mention with an engine rebuild it makes for a much better street car than a riviera can. These sport coupes were light and had awesome performance suspension and handling that made it well ahead of it’s time compared to its peers, and especially compared to a 60’s coupe.
I had the exact wheel and tyres combo on my '76 Electra LANDAU coupe brand new, mine was pewter grey w / ASTROROOF, full equipped. These BUICKS were NEVER DUPLICATED. They road like a cloud. Naturally aspirated 455CID 4bbl, sure did the trick! My dad bought the same car in late '75, it was white, he loved BUICKS since mid '60's Riviera G.S was always his choice. NJOY nice car.♡
Wow that is a kick-ass car your friend should be proud and the only thing I wish it had the 375 horsepower they used to have back in probably 7170 but that's okay what it has in the hood under the hood still move those 5000 pounds with ease
Never saw a full shot of the dashboard except for a one second super close up of the speedometer and AC vents. ALso never heard the engine run. Who would by a car without hearing the engine startup? WORST PRESENTATION I EVER SAW!
I got a 76 SR. Full package. Floor shifter. Bucket seats. Moonroof. French stitch top. Only 1300 or so made. I like this color better though. Mines got red interior.
To all the younger kids , who like and can afford to buy one of these gorgeous machines. . . This is how it should be dressed !!!! Tru's and vogue's only !!!! They are correct dress attire for a vintage beauty !!!! 22 inch or 24 Inch rims or whatever oversize rim that these kids like these days insults what these cars are all about , luxury !!!! Those huge tires upset the ride quality that these beauties deliver and just destroys the car inside and out with harsh riding ghetto rims . . . Equally as bad, is putting huge speakers In the trunk, banging and destorting loud noises down the avenue !!!! All these things will have these beauties rattling and falling apart rapidly !!! In so many words, you might as well just take the car to a demolition derby!!!!! And that would be very disturbing . . . Ikr !!!!!
Very classy, the colors are impeccable on that car that was the last rate Riviera after that and 78-77 there were a totally different boxy more cumbersome looking car I like the 67 I like the 71 through 73 and as late as 76 they still put out a beautiful product love the Vogues

Very cool. My first car at age 17, in 1987. Same color, but I had the original rims and blue leather seats. I loved that car.
