I used to mock floaty, chrome dinosaurs like this when I was a teen. But now that most cars are tiny plastic toys (that look like Darth Vader's helmet) I miss these big 2-door Personal Luxury cars.
LAST OF THE 455CID 4BBL.WOW! Looks like it just rolled out the dealer '76. It could have had a bit more power options. ASTROROOF , fiber optic lamp monitors, ....never the less, NICE CAR. Very quiet, great long distance traveler.
My father had one bought it only had a 350-165hp 4bbl V8.. he always complained it was slow off the line. I told him it was his choice of engine! He said he got a deal on it because it was a California emission car that was shipped to pennysviana by mistake.. my father always wanted a "Deal" on everything 😂
Seems hard to believe there was once a time when you could buy this car from a dealer, even order it with the color and options you desired. Times have changed along with the cars we drive.
One of my favorites, from 1963-78,2nd to the boatails 1974-76 were just as sporty and just as rich interior, throw in the 455V8 and you've got a classic no less.
Magnificient!........It has all the goodies....S/R equipment bucket seats, power seat, console ,armrest in backseat, landou vinyl top with tiara....wider than usual WSW tires.....nice.....top. Could be had with floorshift as well, as far as I know. This is a beautiful S/R equipped Riv!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had one with white vinyl interior. When I drove to Aspen Colorado I put it in cruise control and climbed like a fast goat, passing everyone else like they were sitting still. ZOOM ZOOM UP THE MOUNTAIN.
Everyday was like a sunday drive in those cars, I once had a chance to drive the 1974, first of that body style, BLVD smooth ride and responsive performance
This is a special edition Riviera called the S/R. It had the console and buckets in cloth. A '76 Riv with white leather interior was my first new car. Sticker was $9600.00. Times have changed.
One of my favorites, first the boatails 1971-73 and the whale tails from 1974-76, followed up by 1963-70 fastback models,a pleasure to own and drive, malaise my ass.
When American cars had style! Even today's Cadillacs have no great distinction (other than the Escalade) over other "luxury" cars. This has to be the finest 1976 Riviera on the planet. They are just that rare.
Not really....GM has turned out thousands of these and similar models, like Chevy Monte Carlo, Pontiac Grand Prix, Oldsmobile Cutlas Supreme. This one is one in unusually clean and nearly new condition......that is what's amazing!
My mother had this exact model picked out only it was lime green with white leather seats and lime green dashboard, carpet, and seat belts. I was so bummed when her financing didn't go through. From what I remember it was about $6,400
My favorite Buick Riviera’s are the 1974-76 because of it’s own style it looks like a Century Regal because of the conventional style and 77-78 because it’s looks before it switched to FWD in 1979-99
If I had the I,ve had loot, I,d gladly take it off your, what an incredible piece of machinery, that car should be in the smithsonian as a reminder to the big 3 of what they used to do.
When I graduated from high school, I wanted a Buick Riviera like this but it was way out of my price range. They were about $6,000 brand new. Crazy expensive then.
New cars are so lame. Too bad average folk like myself will never get a chance to own such a magnificent piece of rolling art like this Buick.....but easy as pie I can run down to the dealership and pick up a new whatever for $50K on credit and never truly enjoy the driving experience. I would choose your Riviera over a new corvette. That is real...
I saw an advert in my local paper for one of these July 7th! I WILL be getting my hands on it. It has 83k miles and super clean. Watch for auctions....cars like these are out there just have to search. Good luck!
Beautiful car and great condition. Very unfortunate that the urethane bumper filler has cracked below the right rear tail lamp. That is surly a IMPOSSIBLE part to try and replace!
Awesome car, I have a ‘77 LeSabre Sport Coupe in 99% similar condition, only fault is a dented bumper and cracked grill thanks to a drunk dumb ass at parking lot. Well and mines got more miles but the 350 was rebuilt.
I got 2 68 rivieras i got a 455 of a 75 riviera and installed it in one of them the other is a gs with a 73 455 cu engine i bet this car has a 455 in it
It doesn't get any more pristine than this. Masterfully taken care, stunningly beautiful.
The most stunning example of this model and period I have ever seen. I am very impressed. What a jewel.
I once had a hopeless crush on this car when I was growing up!
These cars and that lawn.
I'd just sit on the porch and drink cold beers and look at both.....
When people knew luxury. Even luxury cars from the thirties were more luxurious than those of today.
Gorgeous " Rivi ".
Now, is that a beautiful car, or what! Stunning!
Man I am really taking back by the Beauty and condition of this very special car!!! Definitely the nicest one ive ever seen! "Outstanding"
High point of Automobile Design. Stunning
Delusional? "High Point?"

A simply gorgeous 1976 Buick Riviera.Unbelievable Mileage.
This one, the '76 Electra 225 2-door, and the '76 - '77 Pontiac Grand Prix were among my favorite " Big Ones" of that era.
Stunning Riviera. Just Stunning.
The most classiest car I have ever seen😍
Seems hard to believe there was once a time when you could buy this car from a dealer, even order it with the color and options you desired. Times have changed along with the cars we drive.
That red interior is over the top. But I am no fan of black interiors seen on so many cars today. Even grey or blue is better than black.
New cars aren’t like these cars anymore. They are appliances. No styling or character. Very sad.
Beautiful car. I'm glad it was preserved. One of the last great buick. They got too boxy after 76.
A real cruiser! That is of "Golden age" of America...a real coach , unlike today, when even expensive cars are just cars.
the car is a work of art
This was my first car in 1978 as a senior in HS. Paid $ 4200 . I would love to buy this car and roll the Riv 455! One mo time!

me parece perfecto el buick riviera 1976 con 8000 millas
I had one with white vinyl interior. When I drove to Aspen Colorado I put it in cruise control and climbed like a fast goat, passing everyone else like they were sitting still. ZOOM ZOOM UP THE MOUNTAIN.
S/R...Rare Bird! Beautiful Buick!
I own a 76 s/r - identical seats but with floor shifter and moonroof.- I wish I could get my hands on this one to feed it to mine!!!
Everyday was like a sunday drive in those cars, I once had a chance to drive the 1974, first of that body style, BLVD smooth ride and responsive performance
Oh yeaaa .. flip top ashtrays in the back. Yet we always managed to put a few burn holes in the upholstery from a single cigarette.
It should be in a museum...
When they still made cars.....
Really would love to find a car like this And most definitely as Clean as this
As I get older these land yacht works of art get more appealing. Plus the money to run one and living in rural steamy Louisiana. The big easy!
This is a special edition Riviera called the S/R. It had the console and buckets in cloth. A '76 Riv with white leather interior was my first new car. Sticker was $9600.00. Times have changed.
It's still here and rolling, worth every penny.
After living 42 years of my life overseas man I freaking love these old american cars over any European Automobiles...
Those S/R seats look VERY comfy!
Happy Memories My Dad had a ‘76 Riveria . I took my road test in this same car only it was black with white leather interior.😊☺️.
Immaculate condition for a forty five year old sedan not many of these left they get rarer every day.
One of my favorites, first the boatails 1971-73 and the whale tails from 1974-76, followed up by 1963-70 fastback models,a pleasure to own and drive, malaise my ass.
What a car !!! My dad had the same on GS . I cried when he sold it
My brother in law had one of these one of the best riding cars I’ve ever been in super comfortable 👍
This is one of one!
my all-time favorite Car
When American cars had style! Even today's Cadillacs have no great distinction (other than the Escalade) over other "luxury" cars. This has to be the finest 1976 Riviera on the planet. They are just that rare.
Stunning ❤️🔥
the 1976 model is my favorite year for these
Beautiful car
What a beauty...
Awesome give us some history on the car.
Loved that color, I believe it was called Firethorn Metallic. We had a 1977 LeSabre that color.
It's a time capsule! Wow!
Absolutely Beautiful
beautiful car.
My mom's boyfriend had this when i was little. He took me to a lot of places like he was my dad. We even went to the javitz center car show in 77.
A most magnificent automobile the equal of any car on the planet at the time! Oh dear what went wrong😢
Beautiful '76 Riviera. How much did she sell for?
The showroom can't be too far away, it looks just came out of it!
This is a beautiful car!
....in the words of the awesome admiral James Tiberius Kirk, "oh my".
That’s GORGEOUS!!
❤️❤️❤️🏆
Fantastic survivor, never understand why these cars are mostly neglected, 1974-1976 riv and the 1977-1978 are fine too.
Beautiful example. Why does the right rear section of bumper filler appears to be repaired/sectioned?
Very unusual car. Even new, there were very (very!) few of these around...
Not really....GM has turned out thousands of these and similar models, like Chevy Monte Carlo, Pontiac Grand Prix, Oldsmobile Cutlas Supreme. This one is one in unusually clean and nearly new condition......that is what's amazing!
Who owns this red Riviera? How much is it?
amazing!
Restyle of the boattail. Nice.
She's beautiful looking so fresh cat daddy 🤘👍

Very nicely done video - I am now reacquainted with the design masterpiece that the ‘76 Riviera is.
Thanks
Beautiful car - WOW
Look good. I had this same model car that was triple candy apple red.
I had the same with a White leather? interior. Anyway it was smooth and not furry like this one.
My uncle had one that he let my mom use when it was old by the time i came around. it was white and white leather seats with everything else red.

...Couldn't agree more with you! I F'ing hate "today's" garbage.
There was so much luxury in these cars 40 years ago that look so beautiful and gorgeous today! Once a beautiful car, always a beautiful car!!
I recently watched a video of a showroom condition Cougar that was parked in this same driveway. Now this gorgeous car. Where do you find them?
Sweet!
Beautiful car and great condition. Very unfortunate that the urethane bumper filler has cracked below the right rear tail lamp. That is surly a IMPOSSIBLE part to try and replace!
CHRIS K there are several companies that reproduce these parts.
If I'm dreaming don't wake me, the owner of this vehicle should be commended.
