Thanks Just bought one, hope it helps with my Ioniq 5 2022 SEL with 95,000 miles. I'm having trouble charging with a Level 2 Charger at home. I'm going to the Dealer tomorrow with a sheet I got online that addresses the issue. Thanks to you and others for sharing your finding with us. I'll be sure to make a video about my troubles and upload once I have all the information. Peace and Love be with you and yours.
This will come in very handy for us 2022 RWD owners with no battery heater…that unfortunately have to use the yo-yo regen technique in I-Pedal to heat the battery.
Very useful video. Thanks. Do you leave the OBD2 connect plugged in or do you only plug it in when in use? Curious of there are concerns that it will drain the 12v if left in.
Great content! From NH, just picked up my 2023 SEL AWD in Lucid Blue down in Mass yesterday. Thank you for all your helpful videos preparing me for my brand new HI5!
I’have seen this clip when originally posted and I’ve using the car scanner / Veepeak since then. My ioniq 5 2022 is now up to 56,000 km and I started to get concerned about battery degradation. I then realized that the “State of health” SOH is available through Car Scanner. Not sure how accurate this is and I would appreciate your input on this but mine was still at 100% which is very good news. Just wanted to share this.
In addition to power drain concerns, keeping any OBDII plugged in for longer periods of time exposes the vehicle to hacking risks. I have the same unit, which works wonderfully, but I find myself unplugging it when I’m not on a road trip where these metrics really matter.
I recently bought an OBD dongle and used car scanner app today. Have you thought about doing a video explaining all the different fields the app shows with a detailed explanation? An example is it shows 2 coolant temps but I don't know which is which. Plus there are also other readings displayed that I have no clue what they mean. I have tried searching online but haven't found anything that does a good job going thru all the different data fields.
REALLY useful video, thanks! I'm going to get one of these. I've always hesitated in case I buy the wrong one, so good to have precise information. Now, let's hope they're still available ;-)
Thanks great video, have wanted to see something like this for quite a while. Finally used your info to get back to the default screen, had created screens myself which were not as good as what it has.

Great video. I just bought the Veepeak OBDCheck BLE OBD-II and tried it out today. It connected on the first try and displays almost everything you described. But the 12V battery voltage and SOC cells on the phone screen are blank. I was in Park in my driveway trying it out, obviously with my 2023 IONIQ5 AWD Limited running. Any explanation?

Wish this worked. Unfortunately the latest version of Veepeak seems a bit different, and won't connect to the ECU. It connects to the device, but not the ECU so it won't read anything from the car.
Interesting. Do you have a link to the version you have?
@@TheIoniqGuy The connection instructions were different than you showed. No password required, and it was clear it was connected to Bluetooth, just not the ECU. The unit was labeled OBD-II Scan Tool "OBDCheck BLE"
But you cant see degradation of your batery and how many % is useble now(meaning how many % of bat is dead)
Is it possible to change the password?
Couldn't get the device to consistantly connect. Very disaapointed and returned.
Can you leave the OBD-11 in permanently?
No, that can drain your 12V battery
They are all 1234 from Veepeek
