Greetings from Nixa and happy 4th of July. Thank you for sharing this video. I had no idea on how to build a bar, and now I know exactly how and what to do. Thank you.
Definitely all the two by fours you can use pressure treated moisture rated. I would still use the cedar to add to the face of the moisture rated wood so it has a nice finish reveal which I’m sure you’re going to do. We appreciate the comment and glad you like the video Your daughter is going to love that bar man right on. 👍
Well done. I’m looking to build an L-shaped bar in order to store a mini fridge, so this is the perfect template for me to get started. Great work, man!

I'm from Colombia and I don't know English but your video is the one that makes my job easier for me and if you give me the measurements of the boards and the puldas, and the screws, it would be very useful. Greetings from Colombia
Absolutely you got this. The measurements are 48 inches wide by approximately 42 inches tall. You can make it as tall as you want depending on barstools or your height preference. We made hours 42 inches tall, because we added wheels casters to the bottom, which gave an extra 2 inches to the height. We used two by fours for the frame and we used one by six cedar for the planks. And 2 x 12 for the bar top. The bar top is 60 inches wide Let me know if that answers your questions 👍
We can definitely build you the bar cost to build a bar 7 foot long will run you $3000 As far as shipping guesstimation, another $1500 If you’re serious and would like to move forward, you can find our email on the about section of the channel and send us a email and we can get this going. 👍
Hello, how are you, what a good video, I am a woman, but that does not limit me to do what I want, but I don't know about carpentry, and if you could give the measurements of the tables, it would be very good
Hi Dave, we do not have a material list currently in the about section of the video. We will definitely put a list together and get it up soon. Basically all Douglas fir 2x4s and 2 x 12 for the bar top and 1x 6 x 6’ cedar dogeared fence planks, 15 gauge galvanized nails with 16 gauge galvanized nails, 3 inch coated screws, and 3/8 wood dowels, 2 inch casters, one bottle, opener, one empty paint, can, sandpaper 80 through 320, Bear gloss clear coat and the stain I believe is a dark walnut.👍😎
About $1,500 / 1,800 not including shipping if you are interested then send a email to us directly. Email in the about section of our channel. Thanks for watching glad you like the video 👍😎
So me and my wife built this last night. I followed your blueprint and it seems to be top heavy? I haven't added the actual shelf yet but it seems as if I add the shelf then it will tip 🤔
have you added the casters yet? If so, you may want to bring those a little bit further away from the front edge of the bar set them the furthest you can from the front edge of the bar. that should help and as far as the shelf if you referring to the bar top, that should help keep it from tipping because it will give it more weight, pushing down in the center of mass. The inside shelf as well will help give weight to the inner part which will keep it centered. not sure why yours is top-heavy. I have not had that issue with the ones that I have built. This is the only thing I can think of. Let me know how that works out once you finish. if it ends up being top-heavy, no matter what you do, you can put it in a fixed location and add two clips and anchor it to the floor on the inside of the returns then you’ll be good. It won’t go anywhere. let me know how it comes out 👍
Just wanted to confirm the dimensions 42 in high 48 in wide? Looks like the height and width are the same exact length...Thanks will be making this today
I really appreciate that you showed the finished product before starting the build. Sooo many channels don't do that. Beautiful bar, just what I'm looking for.
Absolutely the dimensions are in the description of this video. Hope you liked and subscribed thanks for watching 👍 o and don’t forget to share this video if you can 😊
On the body itself, we added about two coats of the clear. We definitely apply the clearcoat as well to the inside of the bar. You want to seal all the raw wood as best as possible minimum two coats. Great question thanks for watching. Let us know if you have anymore questions. 👍
We would love to build you one it’s about aprox amount 900 bucks to ship out to Texas. We’re selling them for $2,500 but I’ll give you a break. Let us know either way all good and appreciate you watching and leaving that awesome comment.
1x6 by 46-1/2in on the front and on the sides the planks are 1x6 23-1/4in plus the face trim brings out to about 48wide by 42in tall with 24in on the sides. 👍
Can you please give me a quick suggestion? I want to do round edges using a roundover bit and then use super glaze as a top coat? Will super glaze work on the rounded edge? Or should I simply stick to the square edge? Thanks in advance....
Super glaze, regardless of round edge or straight square edge will pour over the edge and most likely drip so try to control how much super glaze pours over the edge and keep an eye on it as it’s curing and settles. Once it dries you will have to go through and sand off the drips that are left behind, then lightly coat with a thin coat of super glaze. And you can brush it on if you do it really fast before it starts to activate. Hope that helps
You mean treated wood treated wood would last very long time. Pressure treated wood is not a good finished product and very very unsightly has a lot of holes when they inject the chemicals when it’s under pressure that’s only for really rough framing work. But definitely treated wood will be good I wouldn’t use pressure treated just treated. Thanks for the comment and for watching👍
Very very true but that is why I mention you can build this bar without a table planner. The Lumber does not need to be planned it’s just one extra step that we did thanks for the comment. 👍😎
