Would love to do something like this. I upgraded my PC and used all the older parts to make a living room PC. Debating spending the extra money just to get it into a smaller case. Would need a new mobo, case and an SFF power supply. Kinda hard to justify when everything already works and it would mostly be for aesthetics. Especially because it's an older system, Ryzen 1000 series. Great video, loved it.
Excellent presentation thank you. Only issue i have is that every one building a htpc care about video but never consider the requirement to play high end music. I will be building a new htpc in june and i will need a high end audio to connect the htpc to my amp
Awww... Thats S10e. Such a great phone. Compact, with good performance and such a fun and unique to have. I was such an idiot for selling mine and getting new one.
Hey I hope you check comments (on old videos). What is the model number of the bigger silver stone case you show at the end ? It is exactly what I am looking for but cannot find it.
@@JosephKim not going to lie it was kind of a pain. It was my first mini itx build though. Also fitting an Arctic 120mm AIO was probably more of a pain than a traditional air cooler mainly because the ASRock motherboard CPU cooler 4 pin actually impeded the coolers mounting bracket. I ended up having to take tin snips and take a quarter inch off the bracket to make it fit. Overall it was but a pain in certain parts. Loving that I can do everything from my HTPC now though. 😃
why did the left some space on top ? would be good a smaller version with less space, and without ssd space. Because with m2... but still without GPU and still with SFX PSU. Any alternative ? I've been looking cannot find anything...
I was gonna build something like this in the Silver Stone MLO4B mATX case. Not sure if I wanna use some older Ryzen parts or the new Ryzen 5 7600 65watt, MSI MAG B650M Mortar with a RTX A2000 low profile video card for some gaming. Looking at the BeQuiet 100w LP cooler and 4- 80mm BeQuiet fans for the side for exhaust.
Loved the build! Without a GPU in it, did you think it was enough to play some simple games? If you wanted to play some heavier games did you stream it from your main machine? If so, what did you use for the streaming? Thank you!
We don't really play games other than arcade for kids in living room. So, only the less graphic intensive games. I have not used streaming. I'd imagine it will have some delays.
So, I ordered one from ebay. (one that has the correct cutout) But it did not have any printing of what each ports are. So, I found best picture of it and printed it on to the plate. (I had blank shields ordered just in case) :)
It would be even cheaper to just get an old small form facter office PC and upgrade with an SSD and a 4 TB hardrive for storage. and what about the program to run the HTPC?
@@JosephKim I see that you can just plug a GPU card right in to the PCI slot did not see that first correct me if I'm wrong. So what is the max length for a GPU card ?? thanks
As someone considering this case because I'm gonna be moving around a lot soon, this was HUGELY helpful for my own build. Thanks a ton for this video!
My pleasure!

Lol. Thanks for recognizing. I have 3 in the house. 🤣
Really enjoyed this!

Good job on the video!

My first time being here, it was a very nice video I liked it.
Thank you!

It's not really bigger. It is Sg13. They have different versions and this one is solid front.
no configuration of the build os/plex/nas options?
I think you can mount plenty of 2.5" drives if you are into those sort of things.
Would have been great to see how you used it in a home theater with software and streaming app functionality.
Just Netflix and Disney for kids :)
Nice video. I recently just built a mini HTPC computer myself using the Silverstone Sugo 16 and an Intel i5 12400.
That also is a nice case! Had not built one in yet, but was tempting!

I was left with the same thoughts. But because of the PSU, that is pretty much the shape you have. Otherwise, SG13 is the alternative shape.

The new gens would be better for sourcing parts unless you have them already.
Yes

Friend of mine years ago built a htpc in an old Sony there system looked amazing someone want minimalist pc builds not alienware looking space ceafts
Yeah! We don't always need those spaceships as my PC 😂

Will this work with HDMI 2.1 TV? I have a GTX 970 laying around but that didnt pick up signal from my tv like my 3080 ti did..
I don't think GTX 970 would have had HDMI 2.1. But it should be backwards compatible. How did you fit such card in this kind of build?
You 3d printed that IO shield? did you create the file or did you find it somewhere?

Unfortunately, no.

That's true :) I just run most of the things via browser.
can you mount a gfx card and an optical drive or do you have to pick either one ?
I don't think they conflict. But it doesn't fit standard size GPU either way.

Would you be able to play games such as beam ng?
What's beam NG? You can only play light games :)
Hi would you say this setup would be good for an office pc?
I suppose it depends on what you do at office. It would not suite my office ;)
@@JosephKim nothing crazy, just Amazon business and such
it would be even cheaper to go get a lenovo sff m93p..... widely available for around 100 dollars
IMO, not as modifiable.
What OS are you using?
Windows 10 for now!
@@JosephKim thanks
Will this be able to stream live sports games in 1080p ?
Unfortunately, I don't think so. It may struggle to run games at 1080p.
Build is overkill for video playback can be built for Sub 300 easily alot of these parts just aren't necessary although the case is sweet
Yep! You can go lower.
This cpu can handle 4k hdr 50-70gb mkvs?
No I don't think so.
How you gonna not show the thing working. bro..
Haha, sorry. You are gonna have to trust me. It works well!
Great video. Can I ask why you went for a 2200G vs a 5600G?
Because it was cheaper to get it as used :)
