I enjoy the theory that people have about why the origin forms look the way they do. It's Dialga and Palkia trying to mimic their creator's power, hence why they look similar to Arceus, but also being punished for attempting to mimic his power by losing what they use for their signature attacks. Spacial Rend is Palkia clawing through space, so it loses it's arms, while Roar of Time is Dialga roaring through time, so it blocks it's throat. Makes me like the designs a little more, thinking there's a reason behind them.

idk if its true, but I saw a comment somewhere that the reason palkia and dialga look so boofy, is because they were trying to be more like arceus, he punished them. Dialga's throat was blocked so he couldn't use roar of time, and palkia's arms were taken to hinder use of spacial rend.

The fact the dex mentions the origin form loses it's legs makes me think that in the distortion world, Giratina can move freely throughout the space in it's origin form, but when in the human realm we see it in it's altered form. Giratina can come to the human realm whenever it so chooses as we see in PLA and DPP, I think that it doesn't want to due to Arceus' punishment of grounding it, making it slower and it's wings smaller, not being able to fly with them OR using it's signature move, Shadow Force, to the maximum potential. We actually see this with the animation for it changing in PLA when in it's Origin Form.
I like to think these are the first physical forms they took, though where they were made by Arceus or by themselves is up in the air. Also these forms are canonically VASTLY more powerful than their altered forms and Dialga’s Roar of Time and Palkia’s Spacial Rend are shown to be more powerful in game. Dialga’s diamond, which is the source of its power, has expanded and moved closer to its mouth which would make it easier to use Roar of Time. Also the diamond resembles the hands on a clock and in Legends while using Roar of Time a bunch of plates circle around it with the diamonds jutting outwards last to make the clock resemblance more striking. Palkia’s power source, its pearls, have now completely engulfed its shoulders(?) and have grown so powerful that it doesn’t its arms which have become its forlegs. When it uses Spacial Rend in Legends, the ring on its waist expands and resembles ripples on the water’s surface. Simply by running it can shatter space.

I didn't think The Pokemon Company would figure out ways to add more to the Sinnoh region's lore, but here we are. They did what I thought was impossible. And I applaud them for it.

The presence of the creation trio having origin forms suggests Arceus has an altered form, seperate from its change with the multitype ability, and probably in the shape of a terrestrial being, since the creation trio are shaped like dragons in their altered forms
well, I could be wrong, but from what I heard, these forms are a form of punishment from Arceus, like these 2 wanted to be him or like him too much, and he took Palkias arms so he cant use space rend, and put that big bulge on Dialgas throat so he cant use roar of time. In a way, horses are used in a lot of biblical scenarios like the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse for example and the horses they ride. Palkia losing arms but still having a centaur like build makes sense for the unconventional and out there design like how biblically accurate angels also have looks that feel out of place in the natural world.
@@Forged4War206Makes sense, and with biblical terms, serpents are usually portrayed with demons like the serpent that manipulated Adam and Eve to eat the fruit they were forbidden to eat from and even how during the end times, the demon is portrayed as a Dragon like beasts which are usually serpent like creatures. So the origin form being a wyrm/serpent makes sense.
All these poketubers going 'you threw the wrong ball' somehow missing that, the ball you threw wasn't to CATCH the legendary, you were sending out the other one to protect you (if you look really closely just as the explosion happens you can see it protecting you) that's why it's out after the dust settles, b/c you sent it out.
Kinda odd that Origin Giratina has no ring... We could almost call it a "Halo" at this point, and that could really emphasize that Giratina, lacking one (either got it removed or never had one) is the symbolism of Giratina being the God of Hell.

Sorta like it’s halo was destroyed when it was banished to the distortion realm which would be like the fall of Lucifer, further connecting it to Satan or a ruler or god of hell in which case the distortion world is HELL. So in platinum Giratina dragged Cyrus into HELL like people say demons can do if you summon them.

It makes sense how Dialga and Palkia are in similar forms to Arceus, like how God created Humans in his image, Arceus made these two pokemon in his image.
Reactions aside I did find it really cool that we got to see how Spear pillar became ruins. Also crazy they remained in that state all the way up to the events of Gen 4.

The only thing im not a fan of in palkia's design is the front legs being so "organic", with the kneecaps and malleoluses bones looking like a real horse, without any darkish purple detail or decoration like the upper part of the body. But i also think it's cool af, and super regal

Honestly I guess I just understood now why they're designed like that: Dialga loses his throat to get the power needed to be like Arceus (no more throat means no more ROAR of Time) and Palkia loses his arms (no more Spacial REND). On the other hand, if Palkia and Dialga sacrifice something of themself, Origin Giratina's design underline that if you want a stronger Shadow Force, a move that let you sneak behind the target, you do not only need a world of yours, but you need to adapt to that move, and that's because Origin Giratina is based off Genesis' primordial sin snake
I really like the origin forms and i dislike people saying they copied Arceus. They look like how they do because Arceus made them.... Could they look better? Maybe, but im glad they still got something when Giratina's had one since 2009.
@@RoyArkon Together the rings around Palkia and Dialga make up the ring around Arceus. Dialga has the 4 points while Palkia's is rounded and they both together make Arceus' complete ring.

They could look cooler than the originals but you would have to change a few things. Dialga looks like it has something stuck in his throat so remove that or make it smaller, the front legs look silly make them slim like his back pair. Palkia though oof where do I start. Those hooves look stupid so make his legs bigger, give him an extra pair of arms or remove those shoulder pads because it makes him look like he has no arms. Actually five him a lance that would look sick af and maybe make the wings bigger or give them a different shape like they did with his tail.
Theory, the reason why the origine formes are so demented, is cuz the opposing legendary interupts the entire transformation with their attacks in the cut scenes
For whatever reason, I never wondered where its arms went. I guess in my mind, its arms became legs. I dunno, I was just in awe... I managed to go in completely blind and the origin formes caught me off-guard.

Arceus doesn't have an upper torso attached to its horse body like some sort of incomplete centaur. This wasn't even close to the checkmate you clearly thought this was.

I love how there is an equal split on whether Palkia/Dialga Origin forms are either a punishment or them becoming closer to Arceus. In my opinion, it feels like both. They managed to attain the power that their creator holds but at the cost of their original purpose. Palkia rending space with its claws while Dialga allowed time to flow through it's breath. In Origin form, the former lost those important arms and the latter has its neck choked by a blinding. What's more interesting is the jewel, Lustrous and Adament, are gone. Only faded markings of the items that represent their previous forms
Oh boy... while I've always preferred Dialga's design over Palkia's, here is the opposite. Moreover, I can now relate Origin Palkia to the god "Poseidon" (God of sea, storms, earthquakes, and HORSES) So the design is fitting imo.

Am I the only one who understood at the start that the protagonist wasn’t throwing an empty Pokéball an attempt to catch Dialga/Palkia because I knew it wouldn’t be that easy? And am I also the only who understood that Palkia’s Origin Form isn’t supposed to be a Centaur but a horse? Some of these content creators know more about Pokémon than me and but I picked up on things quickly than they did
I feel like I'm the only one who prefers all the Origin Forms to their original looks. Can't understand why people think they're bad designs. Origin Palkia is my favorite by far. Like it went from a vague bipedal dinosaur guy to a PEGASUS and people are MAD? Wild.
I actually like both their origin- form designs over their normal designs. I find them to be a huge improvement. While their original forms did make them feel like legendary pokemon, they always seemed less aesthetically pleasing than the other legendary pokemon that they were associated with. In their origin forms not only do they look like legendary pokemon, but they also look very ethereal.
Origin Palkia's design actually grew on me quite a bit. Only thing that still irks me is its lack of arms, which I get! It went from bipedal to quadrupedal-those front two legs had to come from somewhere-I just wish they would have made it look more seamless. Because it looks way too much like it's supposed to have arms, and instead an armless torso has just been stitched to the body of a horse, lol. Beyond the arm thing, I really do like Palkia's origin design. I love how majestic the whole pegasus/centaur vibe is. That's how I see it, anyway. Oh, oh, and I love the little detail of Palkia shaking its head and snorting like an angry horse during its cutscene, lol.
I like how most of them captured their legendary in a Ultra ball meanwhile Hoodlum & Ttar tube caught theirs in a regular Pokéball. But I mean legendaries since Gen4 have been easier to catch with higher rates, so it's not insane to believe that they did that. If I missed some1 else who also managed to do this then lmk.

Kinda odd that Origin Giratina has no ring... We could almost call it a "Halo" at this point, and that could really emphasize that Giratina, lacking one (either got it removed or never had one) is the symbolism of Giratina being the God of Hell.

Sorta like it’s halo was destroyed when it was banished to the distortion realm which would be like the fall of Lucifer, further connecting it to Satan or a ruler or god of hell in which case the distortion world is HELL. So in platinum Giratina dragged Cyrus into HELL like people say demons can do if you summon them.

Also because dialga is theoretically the stronger one, Dragon/Steel is a pretty powerful combination.
Dragon/water is actually a pretty good typing as well it only has two weaknesses

Also in the Plakia vs Dialga match up Dialga has the type advantage for that exact reason.

It makes sense how Dialga and Palkia are in similar forms to Arceus, like how God created Humans in his image, Arceus made these two pokemon in his image.
Reactions aside I did find it really cool that we got to see how Spear pillar became ruins. Also crazy they remained in that state all the way up to the events of Gen 4.

The only thing im not a fan of in palkia's design is the front legs being so "organic", with the kneecaps and malleoluses bones looking like a real horse, without any darkish purple detail or decoration like the upper part of the body. But i also think it's cool af, and super regal

Honestly I guess I just understood now why they're designed like that: Dialga loses his throat to get the power needed to be like Arceus (no more throat means no more ROAR of Time) and Palkia loses his arms (no more Spacial REND). On the other hand, if Palkia and Dialga sacrifice something of themself, Origin Giratina's design underline that if you want a stronger Shadow Force, a move that let you sneak behind the target, you do not only need a world of yours, but you need to adapt to that move, and that's because Origin Giratina is based off Genesis' primordial sin snake
People hated these designs, but i personally loved the way Origin Palkia and Dialga looked. They look like Aeceus, rhat was the whole point.

I don't hate the designs either but to me they are objectively worse. They could look cooler than the originals but you would have to change a few things. Dialga looks like it has something stuck in his throat so remove that or make it smaller, the front legs look silly make them slim like his back pair.
Palkia though oof where do I start. Those hooves look stupid so make his legs bigger, give him an extra pair of arms or remove those shoulder pads because it makes him look like he has no arms. Actually five him a lance that would look sick af and maybe make the wings bigger or give them a different shape like they did with his tail.

Arceus doesn't have an upper torso attached to its horse body like some sort of incomplete centaur. This wasn't even close to the checkmate you clearly thought this was.

I love how there is an equal split on whether Palkia/Dialga Origin forms are either a punishment or them becoming closer to Arceus.
In my opinion, it feels like both. They managed to attain the power that their creator holds but at the cost of their original purpose. Palkia rending space with its claws while Dialga allowed time to flow through it's breath.
In Origin form, the former lost those important arms and the latter has its neck choked by a blinding.
What's more interesting is the jewel, Lustrous and Adament, are gone. Only faded markings of the items that represent their previous forms

I actually like both their origin- form designs over their normal designs. I find them to be a huge improvement. While their original forms did make them feel like legendary pokemon, they always seemed less aesthetically pleasing than the other legendary pokemon that they were associated with. In their origin forms not only do they look like legendary pokemon, but they also look very ethereal.
I almost feel like Arceus was being summoned through them and we stopped the transfer mid-summon, and now it's half arceus and half summoner.

Origin Palkia's design actually grew on me quite a bit. Only thing that still irks me is its lack of arms, which I get! It went from bipedal to quadrupedal-those front two legs had to come from somewhere-I just wish they would have made it look more seamless. Because it looks way too much like it's supposed to have arms, and instead an armless torso has just been stitched to the body of a horse, lol. Beyond the arm thing, I really do like Palkia's origin design. I love how majestic the whole pegasus/centaur vibe is. That's how I see it, anyway. Oh, oh, and I love the little detail of Palkia shaking its head and snorting like an angry horse during its cutscene, lol.
