Hey Craig about five months ago I left a comment thanking you for inspiring me. At that time I lost 36 pounds and I said at the end of my comment I would check back once I’ve lost 100. Here I am. In mid August I was standing at 280 pounds. I sit here drinking the first soda I’ve had since last July at 179.9 pounds. Thanks Craig I probably couldn’t have done it without you.
I feel the say way. I don't like being too full and feeling inflamed, puffy face and bloated all over. I feel quite confident and handsome feeling light and lean.
IF helped me A LOT with my binge eating. I haven't binged ate in almost a year now! and I'm down 100 lbs! Still got more lbs to lose but I'm going strong!
Wow! Are you serious? I was waiting for someone to tell me this would happen! I have started IF recently and I began this with hope of losing fat, being energetic and to stop binge eating. I'm happy for you. I hope it'll work out for me too!
I’ve used this for around 7 or 8 months this year and I’ve lost 33 pounds. I was 50 pounds overweight when I started. Thought I would mention this since the video didn’t.. int fasting does not have a gun to your head the more you use it the easier it gets, but if there is a special occasion with family or friends once, twice, three times a month freakin drop it and pick it up the next day. One word.. SUSTAINABLE! Don’t burn out. It’s a great tool for weight loss and healthy living. 👍🏼 “always stay humble and kind” ❤️
Yep! I find that if I get hungry past my 7pm cut-off and I've tried for a couple of hours drinking lots of water, it's best to just give in and have a little something (nothing too heavy). I found a handful of pistachios and/or some peanut butter helps. Then I try to eat later in the day if possible to keep the same fasting window. It makes for a shorter eating window, but usually works. The other thing is, sometimes it's best not to get too hung up on one day that you had to do things differently. I actually enjoy IF and remind myself that I don't HAVE to do it every day... so if one day is messed up, I just get back on it asap.
i agree.. thats was really the only thing in this video i disagreed with was when they said if your going out to dinner or something to just change your fasting time for the day.. I disagree.. because you dont wanna mess up that time you start back.. id just dont even count that in on your fast at all.. its one meal.. and you dont gotta eat a ton ..
Also maybe you should update us on the habits that you have continued beyond the 30 day challenges. (Guys could you all like this so wheezy sees this pls)
I'm still intermittent fasting! I still pay attention to my posture. I'm not still getting up early. My schedule was thrown off when I went to Japan for a week. I'd like to get back to it though. I probably eat less meat and dairy because of Vegan month. But I still eat it. I don't eat much sugar and I'm VERY aware of it when I do. I use less internet, probably because of the month off. Oh yeah! And I still meditate. It REALLY helps me when I can't sleep.
@@wheezywaiter that sounds great man, maybe you also could do some sort of video on it to give us more insights into how you go about your about your life and stuff. Thx for replying so fast and thx to everyone that liked this.
@@wheezywaiter after 2 month or so i stoped this kind of fasting/diet, because i realy suffered in brainpotential. it was more like a count calories/low carb fast, but i realy noticed how i couldn't concentrate on stuff like engineer maths as long as before. its quite okay for normal life activities, but when u realy need your brain, i highly recommend sugar and breaking this kind of fasting. i still eat less nowadays and more healthy stuff, but when i want i eat what i want like a pelican :D
@@TheValinov have you heard of the keto diet? It's basically a very low carb, high fat diet. You will get into ketosis, the brain will not have enough glucose and it will switch to using ketones, made from your dietary fat or body fat (actually we also get into a mild ketosis when fasting). The brain works a lot better on ketones once it os adapted. I feel a lot more focused and can think much clearer, no brain fog. You can watch some videos on the keto diet if you like. I can really recommend it! :)
I’m enjoying intermittent fasting. First of all, I love the feeling of having discipline and self control. And even the hunger feels good. It keeps me sharp. And when I’m really hungry and don’t cave in, I mentally speak to my mind/body, “You’re hungry? Good. If you need energy, well, you know where to find it. Go and melt down some more fat from around the waist where you’ve been storing it for years. Go ahead and take all the energy you need. It’s right there!” And anyway, before long, the hunger subsides. The discipline feels great. And watching my abdominal fat and love handles slowly melt away over the weeks is satisfying.
No one talks about the best part of intermittent fasting, LESS COOKING. I cook and eat one meal a day in a 2 hour period and it makes life so much easier.
Nutritionist telling him to eat when he’s hungry. Problem is 1st world people don’t know what hunger actually feels like. It’s more psychological than physical.
And the problem is that the more you eat, the faster you get hungrier, which means that you eat more and more frequent, so you end up eating more than you need to. I can last a very long time without eating but some friends of mine (who are quite overweight) gets hungry just 2 hours after they had dinner. I was just like them a few years ago but after losing weight and doing the intermittent fasting for a while I just got less and less hungry overall.
@@HDitzzDH yeah its basically a case of eating feels awesome and its a nice thing to do.....lets do it more often atleast thats my grossly simple way to look at how your body handles that sorta stuff where it likes something so ofcourse its gonna make you do it more often
There is also the other direction where people with dysfunctional relationships with food have taught themselves to not recognize hunger. I guess what I mean is if you’ve been anorexic, eating when hungry is not something that ever really comes back in a normal way.
I’ve been doing 16/8 for about 3 weeks and I took a break yesterday. My stomach is a mess and I’m going to go right back on! It’s amazing how much better I feel and how much less sensitive I am to ambient temperature and discomfort associated with exercise! Those are positives in addition to weight loss I didn’t anticipate. Really enjoyed this video- excited to check out more!
Turns out I've been intermittent fasting without realising, I always eat breakfast at 11am, lunch at 3pm and dinner at 6pm, sometimes snack between meals but not after dinner.
Yeah, I've been doing this for years until I found out it's actually called intermittent fasting. I am just not hungry in the morning nor late in the evening. I've also found that I gain weight when I break this habbit for longer periods of time or if I overeat. Lowering the intake of sugar and pasteries also helps a lot. Now only if I could force myself to exercise more...
Me too! I actual have this exact same eating schedule! Lol! I will have some dairy before bed! Like yogurt, cheese or milk! (I crave dairy in the evenings for some reason)
I had the same thought. I used to eat after school but before my 5pm dance classes. However, I ended up very sick with anemia, and fainted in school and fell down the stairs. Then I got mono and didn’t get better for a year. So, it was not a good plan for me.
Lol same. Also playing video games when I was younger helped remove those hunger pangs since I was doing some long sessions and just drinking water. Little did I know I was intermittent fasting already and so, as I got older, doing this wasn’t terrible at all.
I intermittent fasted and calorie counted because I was just snacking all day long and eating more than what I needed. Fasting helped me realize when I am ACTUALLY hungry and not bored. It’s been working great. I lost 8lbs.
@Hardinfardin In my transition to OMAD, I started to only eat when I was really hungry. Im not sure on what kind of fasting you are up to, but that was my experience and I lost 45lbs(?)/23kg during the lockdown.
I'm doing 20:4 and gonna say is the best. I cook less time, i wash less dishes, i have more energy during the day, i control better what i eat and the best is that when I eat I just ENJOY SO MUCH the food and not just eating with no sense like before doing this. I wanna do this forever.
My cousin did the four hours eating window from 4pm to 8pm so they could go out with friends, family for dinner, if they wanted, and lost 90 pounds in eight months. He looks AMAZING and is now off all medications for high blood pressure, type II diabetes etc.
I'm on day 11 of intermittent fasting (8/16) and I find that it really helps to eat a big and healthy breakfast, a medium lunch, and a small dinner. Also water therapy. I don't get so hungry when I drink a lot of water and the cravings are gone as well. Hope to do this permanently.
"Back in my day we ate everything, all the time, didn't even make sense." Please tell your dad that I laughed far too long at that. Your mom killed it to, really just fantastic job from everyone involved with that whole skit.
OMG the parents are hilarious...😆 Dad: Mmmm table Mom: Don’t you dare eat the table Dad: Well I can’t eat your disappointment Mom: I wish you could 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hey Craig I wanted to come back to this video to thank you. In mid-August I had weighed 280 pounds. I started intermittent fasting then and have stayed on it other than a few window extensions. Not only has it been working like it did for you in the video. It helped me get much more health conscious in general and shrunk my stomach so I don’t have full meals at 1am. I don’t get hungry until 11 anymore and I’m not hungry after 7. After several weeks I paired the fasting with the Atkins diet and cutting back on carbs and sugars. I can safely say that it has been doing wonders and I no sit at 244lbs. I’ve been getting compliments left and right on my weight loss and I had to buy a new belt because it didn’t fit me anymore. Thanks Craig, I couldn’t have lost 36 pounds without you. I’ll check back when I’ve lost my goal of 100.
You can do it! I was 280lbs too, and now I sit around 135-140lbs!! Intermittent fasting is EPIC. And consistency is key. Do not give up!!! You got this!
Congratulations!! That's amazing. I encourage you to take the next step and try full keto, especially if you eat the Atkins brand packaged food. I've had amazing success on keto and fasting (my fasting schedule is a little more intense).
I’ve been doing IF for 6 weeks and I’ve had so many incredible changes. I told my doctor and she’s going to look into it more for other patients! I lost 12 lbs, so much energy, I don’t fatigue, I don’t have asthma anymore because fasting decreases inflammation. My seasonal allergies are also better. My skin has cleared up, my head is so clear, I’m going to start to wean off my depression meds (PPD). I started with alternate day fasting but I switched to 20:4 and I’m having the same results!
arith morales great questions! I don’t exercise much besides going on a walk (for mindfulness not to raise my heart rate too much). The longer I’ve been doing IF, the easier it’s been to make better food choices! It’s crazy! Like fast food, soda, and sugars stuff make me fell yucky! I think yesterday was the first day I ate all whole foods and nothing ultra processed (totally on accident!) I would recommend not changing your eating or exercising habits until you’ve done IF for at least a month. Let your body get used to the switchover from blood sugar to stored fat! I have an Instagram account called if.living that I just started! I’m going to post my progress and give tips and such!
Having little to no money certainly makes this challenge easy to do... going even 2 days or more without food. 16/8 and 12/12. 24/0 is when it really sucks. In used to do the 30 hour famine all the time which was sparked by the 30 hr famine chairty and awareness for 3rd world countries so frankly I did in the past. But when you are hungry and straight up have nothing and don't know when your next meal is going to be and when. Those are the toughest tines. It was a struggle on a daily basis and I don't wish it on anyone.
No because you need to make sure you eat an Appropriate amount of calories during the day for instance someone of my weight and height needs to have a minimum of 1200 cal
The benefits of fasting come from not eating beginning at 24 hours - the benefits begin after that point, the longer you go, the better the benefits. You can o it once a week, or more often, its up to you. But fasting is good for clearing out dead cells so its worth doing often. It's also far easier on a diet like keto because you don't have crashes with sugar and carbs that make you hungry, being on an even level means you don't get really hungry.. I've managed over 36 hours totally accidentally before while on keto because I just wasn't hungry.
Slot Addict Slots Obviously you are the triggered stupid “snowflake” 😂😂😂 Why are you so offended? This guy is doing the IF, knowing or unknowingly, who the hell are you to tell people they are wrong or whatever? You are such a prick.
I started intermittent fasting on August 27. I started at 308lbs. This is the most I've ever weighed and I decided that I needed to get this under control. After one month I now weigh 286lbs.
first off congrats! major props!! If you dont mind can i ask what meals you eat and if you exercise at all? I've been doing IF for a few months have dropped some weight but have been at a plateau a bit lately. Any tips or best practices
@@yonh5350 Losing weight is all about calories out calories in, CICO, go on reddit fitness wikia. Use TDEE calc. eat around. 500 calories less than it shows you, if you still want to follow IF, do it anyway and eyeball the calories you are eating or eat 80% clean to restric calories that way. You can use app like MyFitnessPall to track calories. IF is essentially just method of caloric restriction, it has few other benefits. But otherwise if you will be consuming more calories than what your body burns then at some point you will hit plateau. It's simple math, your body needs X calories just to live, then adds Y to that for calries for walking/exercises etc and if you eat more than that you gain weight, (even if you exercise and/or train like an athlete) if you eat less than that you lose weight. If you do IF and during those 8hours you will eat ultra processed caloric dense food, like fast foods for all meals and stuff yourself, then you can even expect to gain weight. If you don't control calories at all, you can just eat above maintenance in IF and therefore you hit plateau. IF is like someone giving you a fish and teaching you basics concept of fishing, Calories IN Calories Out (CICO) is basically giving you a fishing rod and teaching you advanced usage of it. If you want to lose more weight and mainly fat and keep more muscle, start some bodyweight strength training/exercises and eyeball calories with IF or CICO with no IF. What IF is good for, it's good for people who have love to binge eat to get their disorder in order and listen to their bodies when they are actually hungry, it gets your stomach smaller. It's very intuitive and efficient for starters that are overweight, fat or obese to get around their correct BMI, with no calories counting. Thereafter you want to count calories or eyeball calories or eat healthy 80% and less junk food for it be still efficient. Usually Athletes or people who have advanced physique that advertise IF, burn just way much more calories, cause they have much more muscles and do way more activities, than a normal person who has a beginner physique or doesn't train at all and therefore they can just stuff themselves during those 8 hours.
@@yonh5350 Congrats on all your progress!! Go on a 1 or 2 day splurge. I dont know why it works, but if you go straight back to the diet routine you should start losing weight again. I try to pair this with a holiday if I can, or a family gathering etc. It must reset your internal counter haha. I havent done this with IF just a regular diet on a 12hr fast, but its worked for me.
Chyna’s seems really cool and supportive. Reminds me a lot of my girlfriend. I’ll ask her to marry me at some point when I’m financially ready. My girlfriend, not Chyna. Anyways, I don’t know why I’m sharing so much to internet strangers. Thanks for the videos. I’ll definitely subscribe.
I do a type of intermittent fasting where I just dont eat for a whole day every once and a while, and my main tip if you're doing something similar: don't do heavy exercise the day before, during or after the fast, it's a great way to get sick, get really sore and just in general have a bad time.
I love it too! It’s been two yrs this August and I’ve lost 130lbs. I like to change things up, but OMAD is my favorite. Since we’ve been in quarantine I keep things between 16/8 and “Warrior” (20/4). I workout 3-4 times a week. Congratulations on your weight loss and finding what works for you!
If you need medicine, talk to a doctor. If you need a diagnosis, talk to a doctor. If you need surgery, talk to a doctor. But if you need diet advice, talk to a dietitian/nutritionist. Very few western doctors are knowledgeable on nutrition/diet, it's not what they're trained for. But, in my experience, they've pretended to know anyway.
Dr here to say that this is true, nutrition always seemed like a pillar of medicine to me so I studied on the side and can confirm that my professors and colleagues probably don't know the half of it. Still, check if people are adequately certified and get some bloodwork from a doctor to make sure the diet will/is working for you.
Better than what that IF chick knows about. She seems to talk about whats trending and not what actually happens to the body. IF is quite different to how you did it. please do some reaserch
@@TreasureForeverOfficial You can do that if you like. In the west, the average doctor receives less than 30 hours of training in nutrition. A large minority are not trained at all. Bloodwork isn't a bad idea, but unless you get lucky, I think it would be a waste of your time to seek their advice.
@DATING HARLEY QUINN I'm also a newly-graduated medical doctor and completely agree that you should 100% speak to a dietician about diet and not a doctor! Nutrition is a field that is always changing and you're absolutely right that doctors tend not to keep up with the nutrition research. Make sure you speak to a registered dietician, like this commenter's sister, "nutritionist" is an unregulated title (anybody can call themselves a nutritionist). That said, doctors do get basic education in nutrition, and especially for those of us who graduated more recently, our information is still pretty up-to-date. You are correct in saying that cholesterol has not been found to be as harmful in recent years as we used to think. Cholesterol is necessary for cell function, but it's not actually necessary to ingest because your body can make its own cholesterol without you having to get it from your diet. So don't feel like you have to start eating more cholesterol. I would also like to add, doctors and pharmacists are the experts in medications, not dieticians/nutritionists and we absolutely do have to keep up with the research in clinical medicine, including prescribing medications. Good doctors will not give you outdated advice on medications. Statins are extremely important for people who have hyperlipidemia. Hyperlipidemia essentially means high LDLs and non-HDL cholesterol. Unfortunately, in medicine we use "cholesterol" to refer to 2 different things: 1) the cholesterol molecule (this is the same as dietary cholesterol), which we no longer tell patients to avoid; and 2) lipoproteins - these are what we are actually referring to when we say "good cholesterol" or "bad cholesterol" and they're not actually cholesterol at all. Statins lower LDL ("bad cholesterol"). The mechanism by which they work is by decreasing the body's production of the cholesterol molecule, but the main benefit is that this reduces LDL because your cells have to use up more LDLs in order to get the cholesterol they're missing. Many doctors and pharmacists I know agree that statins are one of the most effective and helpful medications we have today. Finding out that dietary cholesterol is not harmful does not mean that statins are bad. Please take your doctor and pharmacist's advice on which medications to take or not to take, not a dietician/nutritionist.
😂I laughed so much - you and your parents are so funny. The humour in your videos helps me digest your information and your anecdotes ( but only between 11 am- 7 pm) 😁 I have started IF 16/8 after gaining weight from chemo ( they don’t tell you about gaining weight on the chemo journey) … anyway I like the fasting routine… so I’m looking forward to the benefits that you have described with such humour and in such an interesting way. Thanks 👍🏼 From a new IMMFer ( is that right ?!?)
I tried this for a month after this vid came out. I also started strength training at the same time -- 5 days per week I alternate between upper and lower body work outs. For fasting I eat from 2pm to 12am (I usually goto bed around 2 or 3am). The biggest difference I noticed with I.F. was that I ended up with tons of energy and motivation all day. It really hit me hard and was quite noticeable. I started flying at work and getting a lot accomplished. Not sure if it was the working out or I.F. or both.. but it was pretty obvious something was different - I felt medicated! oh and I also eat a whole foods, vegan diet for a few years now (not crazy strict though, weekends I eat a little more relaxed - not meat though, completely lost taste for it).
@@janettemartel9643 I was doing a 12 hour fast, now its about 14 hours but I don't always do it. I have found over the years that not doing it every single day helps...otherwise it really screws up my eating and how I overall feel - and I end up feeling the need (extreme hunger) to make up calories which is not something I like feeling.
Hez I’ve done CICO before and have been thinking about trying IF and with Wheezy reading my mind and putting it this video I think I’ll try it out. I might just do IF to start to track results then add CICO after because losing 24 lbs and seeing abs sounds amaze balls.
@@2pugs2many As long as you see positive results it's worth it whatever you may do. I didn't mention it in the original post but it's usually obvious but I also cut sugar intake down as much as possible. Sugary drinks used to be big weakness for me.
I've been doing IF and the ketogenic lifestyle and I'm loving it. I'm down 10 lbs in 2 weeks. I have more energy, I'm less tired. It's soooooo healthy for you. My acid reflux is gone and I feel full more often. The whole family is doing it and my son has gained more muscle mass since switching to this lifestyle.
For a loooooong time nobody knew what intermittent fasting was, and I just happened to follow a 16/8 eating pattern instinctively but was constantly told by family and doctors that it wasn't healthy, that you should eat first thing in the morning etc although my health was insanely good and I felt great, and now people are discovering it and doing it and even doctors are saying it's good, and some people seem to really struggle with it, so that just tells me that intuitive eating is probably the best solution ;) follow what feels right to you, sometimes in spite of everyone's advice...
I did IF pretty much the exact same way you did. However, I know Autumn says its not best to calorie count, but doing that really helped me stop snacking and eating junk. I started looking at the back of the boxes and seeing how much sugar and junk is in what i was snacking. It started pushing me to eat healthier snacks. In term, made me finally lose the weight I was trying to lose!
It has been a month and 2 or 3 weeks since i started interminnemt fasting. It really was hard in the first week but it eventually gets easier and easier. What i love the most about the fasting is that, i got used to not eating after 5-7 pm (depends when is my last meal) and i usually go to bed at 1 am. Also, when i started fasting, i was getting lightheaded in the morning because of no carbohydrate intake, but now i can go on past noon without feeling huge drop in energy and tbh, i dont get hungry in the morning at all after my cup of coffee, and i think i would not eat if not energy drop in couple of hours after waking up and being active physically or phsycologicaly. Also, i have been doing some 30 min. Cardio for amonth for 3-4 times a week, and probably what you are wondering the most, i have lost 6 kg in a month and 2 weeks. So far my routine matches my diet and i will keep doing it. Remember do not overeat in that 8 hour window, try to cancel out 1 meal and only have 2 meals but with the same calorie intake you would have when havin 3 meals. Good luck!
I’m on my 2.5 weeks on fasting, I’ve learned so much just by watching this video. I noticed the stomach pain and skin dryness! I would later layers of moisturizer 🧴 and still be dry. These are great tips-Thank you so much!!! Drink lots of water clean everyone!!!!
I went on intermittent fasting starting about 3 years ago. I started with a 10 hour eating period and stayed with that for two months. Then a 9 hour period for a month. Then an 8.5 hour eating period for a month, and finally and permanently an 8 hour eating period. Since I'm older (I'm retired now) I thought this gradual approach would help me stay on track. Anyway, I couldn't be happier that I did it. I did NOT do it to lose weight; I carry a few extra pounds but was much more focused in being healthy. What I found was that it has become almost difficult for me to get adequate calories to maintain my weight (I weight myself every morning at the same time) given the 8 hour window. That means I'm NEVER worried about over eating. In fact, I haven't felt substantial hunger for over a year. Another great side effect for me is that I'm sleeping much better. I go to bed about 7 hours after my last meal (which is the smallest of the 3 meals I eat), so I never have any digestive issues at night any more. I exercise in the early morning, having not eaten anything in about 14 hours, and my exercise has become more consistent. I find it so much easier not to eat garbage foods because I'm bascially never hungry during the 8 hours and it immediately occurs to me that I would be messing up my next meal. One little negative is that others who don't know me well can be confused when I don't eat when everyone else is, but frankly I just tell them why and they never have a problem. I will never go back.
I've been trying IF for the past two or three weeks, and the results have been awesome! I wasn't overweight to begin with, but IF has helped reduce stress and the changes in my body make me feel so confident. :)
I’m loving these videos of first experiences with IF. I’m 8 days into my first experience with it and I’m 4 pounds down! I’m sleeping better, not eating mindlessly and trying to fill the void with food, and I’m sleeping much better as well. I am loving it! My eating window is 12-5p it seems to work really well for me
I've been doing IF since February. I did great for a while then got stuck. For the last couple of weeks, I've been doing rolling 48s from Sunday through Friday. I break my final fast of the week on Friday at noon and allow myself to eat however much I want on that day and Saturday. Not to be confused with "whatever I want." I still eat ketovore, but if I want to eat a full pound of burger, I eat it. I feel amazing! I've lost 3 pant sizes since February. I currently weigh 146 pounds from 168. I havent been in the 140s in 25 years. I have about 15 to go before my wedding 🙌
As an adult I've always skipped breakfast because I'm not hungry. I started IF when I didn't realize it was IF. I did OMAD for about a month and got rid of that stubborn 20 lbs I needed to lose. I still do the 16/8 except on weekends when I might be going out to dinner or lunch.
I did the intermittent fasting for 8-9 months exactly a year ago. Also, cut out the bread and buns, drastically cut down on sugar intake. Went from 185 lbs to 154 lbs. Feel good, with less, joint pain. Ate within a 4-6 hour window. Just can't seem to kick the flavoured yogurt, though!
I've come across your videos from time to time and I just love them every time. And I really love how you get your parents involved, it's so great lol.
Intermittent fasting regulated my energy throughout the day, helped me think more clearly, and allowed me to focus for longer periods of time. Because of this I was able to step off my A.D.D medication!
@@dsiz9421 Are you kidding me?? It has been scientifically proven, there is no correlation between soy intake and testosterone levels. Also, in your view, what do you think testosterone levels actually do? It's not magic juice that makes you a manly man, you know that right?
Great advice and work. Can see the change in your face. I’m IFing now myself and have gone from 108kg to 93kg in just under six weeks. Am calorie counting and working out for 1-2hrs a day too. Mentally am laser sharp.... feels great. Amazing how we normalise the routine and act of eating as a ritual/habit to just fill in time
This video got me into intermittent fasting, and I still have cravings sometimes, but I feel great and I've lost a considerable amount of weight in the last couple of months. Much love Craig!!
"I've been drinking lots of water and the things I noticed are number 1... 3: Listen to your body" LOL That was a good one, definitely made me do a double-take there.
@@angerock49 "number 1" is another name for pee, so he made the joke that he's been peeing more, but he did it like he was going to start a list as he is known for doing. A bit of clever misdirection there.
Looooove your parents humor! Oh, and you and your wife's too. I did IF in 2019 and lost 35 pounds. Covid hit in 2020 and "I could die next week." rationalization set in, and I ate too much and all of the wrong things and gained it back, plus 5 more. I am going back to IF to let it go again. Thanks for the encouragement and the laughs. A+ video! Thank you!
Wheezy: I'm getting used to the hunger, it feels.. I kind of enjoy it in a sick way. Me having suffered from an eating disorder before: It be like that sometimes
Great video! I have been intermittent fasting for about seven weeks and noticed a big difference in my appearance. But more importantly, my blood sugar has gone down and my doctor has prescribed half the medication that I usually take. I eat a meal at about 12:30 and again at 6:00 because it fits my schedule. It was always a chore to try and develop the habit of breakfast in the past. So now, I don't bother. I make sure that I always have salad with my meals. I make a big pot of ratatouille and have that during the week with a varied menu. Lots of beans and brown rice as well. I was always famished eating three tiny meals and a snack trying to maintain a calorie deficit on previous diets. I would always give up. With two meals a day, when I have a meal, it feels substantial and I have enough energy to work. So far, I haven't felt deprived and feel motivated to continue.
I have been doing IF for about 5 months down 32lbs , and I’m honestly still shocked at how much my appetite has gone down. Actually after one week I thought something was wrong because even when I ate, I couldn’t eat much. This somehow let me to OMAD (one meal a day). I honestly would have never thought this was possible because I love to eat haha but somehow this has been the only thing I’ve tried where I was able to stick to it and loose weight. I personally don’t count calories and like he said if I feel hungry I will eat but usually I’m not. People who are skeptical should try for at least one month. You will be shocked at the results.🙂
I've been doing this all my adult life as I don't like breakfast and lunch. It's too early for me to eat before evening, and I don't even think about food till then. Sometimes I even skip the evening meal too. I don't lose weight but don't gain either. If I ate 3 meals a day I assume I'd pile weight on.
@@bibibratx when following any diet or exercise regime always ‘make it your own’ - otherwise you set yourself up to fail. After 4 weeks of intermittent fasting (with my sinful coffee + milk) I can maintain a 7-10 lb weight loss. Works for me.
Thanks! You introduced me to intermittent fasting and it’s been the only diet that’s worked well for me, because it’s dead simple: if if’s not noon yet, I just don’t eat! Lost 20 lbs in 8 months without really trying or increasing exercise levels. I figured it would probably work for me since I’ve had days where I skipped breakfast and didn’t really get hungry til noon anyway. Definitely a good dieting tool for anybody with a mostly normal metabolism (people with metabolic disorders such as thyroid, pre-diabetes, etc. should check with their physician first). Thanks again! UPDATE FOR 2023: still working great! At least in my case, eating this way brought me down to goal weight, relatively painlessly losing 40 lbs...and lets me stay at goal weight easily. I was worried I might get underweight but once I got to the goal the weight loss slowed and stopped. I've also implemented other dietary improvements, such as reducing sugar, eating mostly whole foods, and using Dr. Jessie Inchaupe's advice on minimizing glucose spikes (eg: eat your veggies first, savory breakfast, drink dilute vinegar before eating, etc.).
i did IF 20/4 for 4 months recently and i lost 20gk aprox 44lbs, i am currently doing 14/10. You see, from a physiological standpoint, the reason why you feel sharp and motivated is because of ketone bodies (a bioproduct of fat breakdown) in your bloodstream. IF makes it possible for fat to breakdown more efficiently by keeping insulin levels low , the thing is, ketone bodies act on the central nervous system , making the bonds between neurons better and optimizing impulse conductivity. From an evolutionary standpoint its said that we develope this mechanism so that when our body started burning fat it was usually time to go find more food (hunt gather), and thats just one of IFs health benefits.
Eat fruits! Fresh fruits! Itll fill your sweet tooth but wont be quite as bad for you. Eventually you should start limiting as much fruit you eat as well. Even though its better for you its still sugar 😘
I sighed so hard when I processed Mr Wheeze's reply, that "you *don't* eat whatever you find inside of a mitten" ...because it's in-the-mitten't fasting mitten't being the contraction for "mitten-not" -_- truly awful :'D
I've lost 35 lbs in under 4 months using IF. It works wonders for me especially since I had a massive problem with self-discipline when it came to junk food and timing of meals.
Hey Craig about five months ago I left a comment thanking you for inspiring me. At that time I lost 36 pounds and I said at the end of my comment I would check back once I’ve lost 100. Here I am.
Thanks for the kind reminder

Love your self talk!
hahaha , love it.
I love this!! I also really like what you said about practicing discipline and self control. People rarely mention that.

The fattest people in the world are also the ones who complain most often about feeling hungry.
There is also the other direction where people with dysfunctional relationships with food have taught themselves to not recognize hunger. I guess what I mean is if you’ve been anorexic, eating when hungry is not something that ever really comes back in a normal way.

Just got done with my 29 days of intermittent fasting (Ramadan)!
So basically......skip breakfast and don’t snack after dinner
No because you need to make sure you eat an Appropriate amount of calories during the day for instance someone of my weight and height needs to have a minimum of 1200 cal
Also don't eat food out of mittens, but that's about it.
Nobody said anything about skipping meals.
Tom Walter I went 3,491 hours once. It cleared out so many dead cells that I turned into a ghost.

Losing weight is all about calories out calories in, CICO, go on reddit fitness wikia.
I do a type of intermittent fasting where I just dont eat for a whole day every once and a while, and my main tip if you're doing something similar: don't do heavy exercise the day before, during or after the fast, it's a great way to get sick, get really sore and just in general have a bad time.

HIGH FIVE I would say talk to a few doctors not just one. Second third fourth fifth opinions.
The humour in your videos helps me digest your information and your anecdotes ( but only between 11 am- 7 pm) 😁 I have started IF 16/8 after gaining weight from chemo ( they don’t tell you about gaining weight on the chemo journey) … anyway I like the fasting routine… so I’m
looking forward to the benefits that you have described with such humour and in such an interesting way. Thanks 👍🏼 From a new IMMFer ( is that right ?!?)
I warms my heart that you still call the description box the dooblydoo. ❤️
You eat for during a 10 hour window only? So only 12 hours of Fasting? Not very long, no?
@@janettemartel9643 I was doing a 12 hour fast, now its about 14 hours but I don't always do it. I have found over the years that not doing it every single day helps...otherwise it really screws up my eating and how I overall feel - and I end up feeling the need (extreme hunger) to make up calories which is not something I like feeling.
I started Keto and IF two years ago. I lost 83 pounds in four months. Honestly changed my life.
Have you seen Dr. Bergs channel?
My favorite part was his dad reading the calendar 😂
I first thought it was a seed catalog at first because of the flower on the front. But then, my dad actually DOES read seed catalogs! ;-D
Sideways.

I've been doing IF with a low carb diet and I've lost 24lbs since the start of June. I've found I actually have abs.
I did intermittent fasting, and got down to 80lbs. They called it Anorexia Nervosa, but I called it dedication.
@@katherinehartman4770 That's fantastic. Well done!
"Coffee, water, and my tears of regret"😂
For a loooooong time nobody knew what intermittent fasting was, and I just happened to follow a 16/8 eating pattern instinctively but was constantly told by family and doctors that it wasn't healthy, that you should eat first thing in the morning etc although my health was insanely good and I felt great, and now people are discovering it and doing it and even doctors are saying it's good, and some people seem to really struggle with it, so that just tells me that intuitive eating is probably the best solution ;) follow what feels right to you, sometimes in spite of everyone's advice...
Some people are too disconnected from their bodies to "feel" something
Your parents are the best thing on the internet.
That bit with his parents was hysterical.
“Well can’t eat your disappointment! I wish you could. I bet I’d be delicious”! Hahahaha
Fasting is just awesome ! i have take this life habit for about 6-7 months, results, - 33kg ! \m/
Good luck!
*each time
Hey I tried the same as you mentioned for 2 weeks and I barely lost 1 pound. So it sucks and I feel so demotivated to do this
Shift working can be a mandatory intermittent fast.
I popped a google and now the FBI is here Craig. Again.
🤣🤣🤣😎
I've been trying IF for the past two or three weeks, and the results have been awesome! I wasn't overweight to begin with, but IF has helped reduce stress and the changes in my body make me feel so confident. :)
I’m loving these videos of first experiences with IF. I’m 8 days into my first experience with it and I’m 4 pounds down! I’m sleeping better, not eating mindlessly and trying to fill the void with food, and I’m sleeping much better as well. I am loving it! My eating window is 12-5p it seems to work really well for me
I started last Monday and I am not sure if I have lost any weight but I am liking how I feel lately 😌 too much weight to tell anyway
Oh crap his parents are just as crazy as he is, lol
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
I love them....🤣🤣🤣
Hi Wheezy, just wanted to thank you for always making me laugh. Been following you for years now and appreciate your work. :)
I used to skip breakfast before it was cool. Usually because I was too lazy to cook something. Now it's the latest and greatest diet trend
@@wintersolstice4793 Cereal. Sell more cereal.
Intermittent fasting is not a diet nor is it a trend.
I do plain Greek yogurt or the 0% fage yogurt, drizzle a tiny bit of honey on it and throw in my fresh blueberries and strawberries in !!
@@18wheelaffair48 That's exactly what I do but sometimes add in some almond flakes.
I've come across your videos from time to time and I just love them every time. And I really love how you get your parents involved, it's so great lol.
I have had my nose buried in intermittent fasting material for well over 18 months now, and I have to say, I think you covered it great, good job man
Love a good calendar read. "I can't eat your disappointment!" 😂😂😂
Intermittent fasting regulated my energy throughout the day, helped me think more clearly, and allowed me to focus for longer periods of time. Because of this I was able to step off my A.D.D medication!
I mentioned this to my husband. My mind is noticeably more clear and my thoughts are more organized. Its great.
$39 for some powdered drink?! I'd rather just, I don't know, eat real food.
There are situations where I would either eat shit food or just no food. I'd rather have a smoothie-in-a-bag in a situation like that.

Great advice and work. Can see the change in your face. I’m IFing now myself and have gone from 108kg to 93kg in just under six weeks. Am calorie counting and working out for 1-2hrs a day too. Mentally am laser sharp.... feels great. Amazing how we normalise the routine and act of eating as a ritual/habit to just fill in time
There’s a big difference between a nutritionist and a dietitian, look it up!
I love how your parents go along with your crazy videos hahaha
This video got me into intermittent fasting, and I still have cravings sometimes, but I feel great and I've lost a considerable amount of weight in the last couple of months. Much love Craig!!
Are you drinking water/tea/black coffee while fasting? These things help you feel full and get you through.
Your parents are so naturally hilarious, how do you manage to hold all that power as their first born son?

Covid hit in 2020 and "I could die next week." rationalization set in, and I ate too much and all of the wrong things and gained it back, plus 5 more. I am going back to IF to let it go again. Thanks for the encouragement and the laughs. A+ video! Thank you!
Wheezy: I'm getting used to the hunger, it feels.. I kind of enjoy it in a sick way.
Me having suffered from an eating disorder before: It be like that sometimes
Yeah it do be like that
We miss eating out of “ritual and boredom.” Big facts.
So far, I haven't felt deprived and feel motivated to continue.
your parents need their own channel, like a video a month or every couple months or something, it would be epic.
You look noticeably more healthy in the “after” video.
I stopped eating breakfast a long time ago, so I guess I've been intermittently fasting for years by accident!? lol
Not if your last meal was at 3am!
factoredpuppy me too. Worked for me!
I'm fasting for 5 days. This is my first day wish me luck
Don’t over complicate intermittent fasting.
Just look at it as skipping breakfast. But allowing yourself coffee (milk, no sugar) and water.
@@tomthomassony8607 Milk will break the fast too. Only water, or black coffee (no sugar, no milk) or plain herbal tea.

"Listen to your body." My body is telling me that I should eat the sweets instead of the vegetables.
Eat fruits! Fresh fruits! Itll fill your sweet tooth but wont be quite as bad for you. Eventually you should start limiting as much fruit you eat as well. Even though its better for you its still sugar 😘
That's your brain, eat too many sweets and your body will "speak up"
Start with sweeter fruits like pineapple, oranges, grapes,&strawberries. Bananas too! The taste really sweet but have vitamins and fiber to nourish you.
