      Yup I love that they not only fixed IG but also brought back the extracts effects like Earplugs and aerial damage scaling like in Rise, cannot wait!

      ​@@Trenchfunn I think that's fine, tbh. Kinda reinforces the idea that you need a good opening to use it effectively. Besides, iirc you can still shortcut straight to SAED after a guard point, so it's not like it's impossible to pull out quickly as a punish for those a bit more proficient with the weapon.

      @ imo it’s like doing the first two charge slashes for great sword, then having to do a horizontal slash and then you can do the final tcs.
      It’s like making the dual blades have to sheath to swap between demon mode and base mode.
      Or telling SnS they have to holster their weapons to use consumables.
      It interrupts the flow, world had it right because the aed was an option… A part of a tool kit, now it’s just an unfortunately stair that’s been placed on a handicap ramp.

      ​@@Trenchfunn omg can yall give it a rest already...Charge Blade is still an incredibly good weapon with many options to compensate and adapt to. If you cant bother to work SAED into your gameplay other than spamming Shield Thrust combos then I dont know what else to tell you

    YES, the reducing frequency of monster movement to diff areas is such a big change for weapons like switch axe that need to maximize their charged up state.

      As really wanting to try the insect glaive in the beta, whenever I got all my charges and was ready for an attack, they were running away, partially due to a very slow kinsect but still! So excited for all the changes they made and I will retake my place above the monsters's heads

      Agreed. This long form discussion of the beta feedback is appreciated for its bravery. This takes guts to publicly commit to these changes even with disclaimer that things are still subject to change. I just don't see this very often from big studios. They really care.

      Can you pls pls make a full beginner player detailed guide. So that even the most difficult mechanics and items can be clearly understood and pls don't chop it up and make it short, like many youtubers do thus causing people like me to be left, still confused and not any better at the game. The guide can last 4 hours idc. But pls make a thorough guide❤

    Another open beta test is being considered, but it would only be a chance for players who missed it the first time around with maybe some new additions. It would not include all these new changes.
    Looking forward to all the changes that they're going to go over.
    Assuming they'll talk about the hitstop first and foremost (which has already been shown off by different media outlets)
    Hoping they'll give any news about any kind of second open beta or a demo!

      The lack of hitstop feels like something that detracts rather than adds to the game, currently. I haven't watched all of the video yet, but I hope they decide to do something about it. Edit: they did and it looks much improved. I hope this is added to air attacks as well.

      I was personally fine with the way counters worked in the open beta test, as long as we can still do it like that (which seems to be the case) then I have no problems with the old counter stance returning. It does seem like the counter attack comes out much quicker when using the old counter stance at least, but if you try it on a multi-hit attack you're still kinda screwed like in the old games. I'm still hoping that they make perfect guarding more beneficial in some way, and it'd be better if they added some kind of perfect timing mechanic to the counter stance as well, unless that's one of the ways they're going to differentiate between the two counter styles.
      The most surprising bit to me was the addition of a brand new attack. That takes new animations and everything, and this late in development I never would have imagined they'd be doing something like that.

      There's an old clip from World of a Hammer and a GS fighting Kulve Taroth and the hammer hits the GS player into the air to allow the GS to hit the horns and it ends up breaking them. We will never have cool clips like that again if they don't bring it back

      A lot of people talking about doing the launching and nobody wanting to be launched, i wonder why lol. because makes so much sense a random interruping your entire combo or big move just to make you do a single air hit :) . "oh but the clips", there are clips of Kinsects breaking horns and tall stuff, and thats no reason for you to spam it

      The key Is communication and collaboration, upswings and cool moments are awesome when both parties are trying to do it, it sucks when its one-sided and disruptive.
      (Like during carves for example.)
      I do think replacing it with flinches won’t stop the issue but I can understand the attempt

    It is a bit unfortunate that the launching potential for combos and strategies seen to have been replaced by more flinching, id hoped flinching would have been the removal while launching stayed but that being said I’m happy to see the changes being made elsewhere and I deeply appreciate the communication to the fans.
    Hope the next few months of development go smoothly!

      I agree, how is adding a knockdown better than a launch into a possible mount or break or tail cut that would be an amazing moment.

      I'm kinda hoping for a deco skill that lets you get launched by those attacks instead of merely being flinched. So the deco overrides any flinch free or natural stagger and launches you instead.
      There were times when i was saved by a random SOS person from an attack by getting launched (intentionally or accidentally).

      @@LodestarLogado is the community really that toxic to not let people carve? never had that happen to me. only battle after looting and its been a staple since MH1 greatsword launch fights or last hits. idk I mainly play with friends only since world so maybe people suck way more now. I always thought it was fun to get launched into a mount or cut a tail mid air on a flying monster

    IG mains, we are soooooooooooooo up!!!! I loved the changes that were made to the IG in wilds but was bummed that they removed bounce. Now that it back the weapon is perfect (my opinion) the combo potential is insane!

    I adore that the monster hunter team always listens to their players. They hear our feedback, and then make sure to walk through their thoughts with either changing something, or not changing something. And I really, really respect that. Thank you monster hunter team! We love how much you guys value our input. It is very refreshing in a world where a lot of video game devs don't care what their players want.

    friendly fire should be an option in gameplay settings, one to do it and other to recieve it, the decoration in sunbreak was a nice option but some people like the fun of trying to upswing your teammate when the quest ends, or even use it as a means to do aerial attacks

      I'd rather just have an in-game decoration to enable it (or disable it). I'm a little pissed that they're removing interactions just because people are sick of randos griefing.

      I used to uppercut my IG friend all the time with the switch axe. That move is now an offset now so I can understand it might be too powerful for it to do both.

    They made the Full Release Slash do... more damage? Alright. Switch Axe it is. I was already leaning that way, but that has decided it. Such a badass move. Also very happy to see IG changes. Particularly the triple buff immunity to roars and tremors if that's for all strengths of roars, that is INSANE.

      Insect Glaive always had that roar wind ignore feature on Triple Buff since its debut --- it only affects weak roar and weak wind though.
      I'm surprised that it was removed in Wilds Beta.

      @czairkolmoslink5952 The first guard in the little demo is the cancel that we saw in the Wilds Beta. You can tell there's no counter thrust prepped because they do a shield bash immediately after guarding.

      @@czairkolmoslink5952 Maybe. It sounds and looks like both are available to use, which is awesome. Would offer two different playstyles: charge and wait to counter, or stick like glue and never stop poking. Or even a blend of those two styles.

    24:59 Maybe make knock up effect of friendly fire attacks on a hidden cooldown. Give more weapons friendly fire attack that can knock you up into the air. Make Wyvern Fire knock people into the air and also Large barrel bombs too. Make Wyvern Fire into an offset attack.

    We don't get these kinds of updates from an open beta basically anywhere outside of *maybe* MMOs sometimes. I didn't think I could be even more stoked about Wilds. Everything here's great!
    P.S.: I love how Tokuda-san pushes his glasses up.

      too bad that's the one move they gave it to that ig players were already incentivized to spam over every other move because of its damage speed mobility and no setup required 😂 that weapon is cooked and will be hold one button down over and over the weapon

    So glad that Capcom listened to most of our feedbacks, especially on hitstop and Insect Glaive. The aerial vault returning is very much appreciated. There’s only one last thing about IG that is really bothering, the button scheme. I can understand the decision regarding the Descending Slash, since it is a powerful move that now has an offset effect too, charging is required otherwise it would be OP, but not with the aerial Diving Thrust, I don’t think it needs to be charged.
    And last but not least, the kinsect aiming. First, having a different button to aim the kinsect is redundant, it could be easily done with the same Focus aiming mode, all other ranged weapons do this, so I don’t see any reason why it shouldn’t be for kinsect aiming.
    Also, aiming while Charging the Kinsect is so awkward, claw grip is never enjoyable.
    L2 = Focus mode + aiming kinsect
    L2 + R2 = send Kinsect
    this way right thumb is free to aim the camera while charging the move
    L2 + △ = shoot marker
    L2 + O = recall Kinsect
    △ while midair = vertical slash
    O while midair = advancing slash
    R2 while midair = diving thrust
    Then it will be perfect.

      Got to get that controller with paddles I guess. But their reasoning for leaving the current button scheme the way it is, is a problem though. Just like Rurikahn stated, it can't be about the devs liking the idea of IG having some sort of "Skill expression" because if that was the case then what do they have to say about people that use paddles to map buttons, or people that use Keyboard and mouse with re-mapped buttons?
      That reasoning for keeping the scheme the way it is falls apart when a large portion of players won't have to deal with that at all. Hopefully they realize the flawed nature of that reason and just allow some kind of alternate button scheme at least.

So there is a posibility that specific complain about it hasn't reached the Dev yet. So we need to be more vocal about it, because Capcom actually listened.
