I had a male cockatiel that had a broken flight feather lodged in its stalk hole deep in the wing and he pecked at it with his beak no matter what I did until he died of a raging infection and only after he passed did I finally do the research that showed the mistakes I made. All need diet plastic water & food feeders metal toys very little time out of the cage because he was blind in one eye and less than partially in the other and I cried uncontrollably for 3 days. The big mistake I made was bonding to him to the point I depended on him for everything I wasn't getting from society and when he died I faced unimaginable loss
Uhh lots of confliction on the bird cage liner. I heard people saying that pine shavings are okay if they are dust free and scentless, is that true? Also, I heard people saying that puppypads are worrying because they may have scents or chemicals that are bad for birds...
Are paper towels safe to use? Such as Bounty, and other top-selling products? Because we cancelled our newspaper subscription and we don't want to subscribe again.
That's a good idea. I'm about to get my first bird. Kraft paper seems to bit cheaper but lining paper is much thicker. Do you think it's good to use a thicker paper?
Excellent tutorial, nice job! Spraying the paper before changing---brilliant!
Excellent! Thank you for posting this!

Also I remember hearing from one person that newspaper is technically bad because of the ink but I dunno

That's what I use...
I live on a needs based income and I could not afford hundreds of dollars in bills and weeks of treatment
So far it’s not 100s of dollars. But we haven’t been to the vet yet, soon tho. And that will likely increase his overall expenses big time.
I just use lining paper. Can get a 20 metre roll for £3

Can I use sand
sand is not recommended to be used as a bird cage lining. The primary reason is that it is very dangerous when ingested
@@Jazz-rc7qw ok bro thnx for the reply.
@@Jazz-rc7qw I just got sand and was looking for comments if it is indeed safe. Thank you.
