We have always had a generator as a standby measure. We have a ton of solar panels and batteries but there are always those times when the sun won't shine for days on end and the batteries start to look a little sick. Probably 95%+ of the time we don't need a gennie but when we do it is so nice to have it available. The modified square wave is a bit of a shocker, I don't think I would like to run the laptop on that :)
Same idea, I will use solar when available. I have an oversupply of panels, but I run out of battery capacity when fredges are on freeze, and I am not on the move daily. I'm waiting for my battery to die and I will move to all lithium, that will help.
I have one of these and I do like to use it camping. The only thing that bugs me is the electronics are unserviceable if a component goes bad. The inverter's capacitors, resistors, transistors, ect, are covered in a thick resin. I cannot get the probes through this stuff. To buy a new invertor unit costs almost as much as a new generator. Informative video, cheers mate.
Fair demonstration mate, the genset would be a fair, stable power supply for all the average type appliances you would need to run, given its output Watt capacity. Thanks

I will ask Mick how much.. but you are right, they are potted.. stops or helps with vibration..
