Hakeem is a top 10 player all time. One of only four players in NBA history to have a quadruple double. Could do it all at a high level. I used to have a book called Basketball Almanac where it listed the strengths and weaknesses of almost every nba player. Hakeem had like half a page under strengths and like one sentence for weaknesses. He didn’t take a lot of 3s. That was it. Criminally underrated.

I agree with being the most skilled center ever, but I would still pick prime Wilt over prime Hakeem. Just my preference. Wilt dominated like no one in points, rebound and blocks. Even assists, late in his career when he decided to stop scoring.
Most guys look to pass out of the double team but they didn't really affect hakeem he just got creative. Incredible talent and work ethic as he was a raw ex soccer player who mainly dunked.High IQ player.

Embiid -- the closest player we have to Hakeem -- does not have that move. i have yet to see anybody else in today's game add that to their game. they have the moves, the fakes, or the spins; but none of them acquired the ability to attack and spin as soon as you land on two feet. this isn't a knock on the other players. I'm sure this particular move requires you to scan the floor and react accordingly if the spacing in the paint will allow for a quick spin. it's just mesmerizing to me that no one has yet to inherit Hakeem's ~complete arsenal. he was that good

A lots of kids today will say that was not the case anymore in modern basketball but they don't really know how the game works. Shooting 3s is always not a practical options so if you have a skillful big men in your team then that's a big plus!

Such a shame big men today no longer develop a back-to-the-basket post game. With his length, Wembanyama should develop a go-to post move for easy, reliable points and kick-outs.
Rule changes. Shaq was dominating so much in the low post that they made a 3 second defensive paint rule that prevented low post big men from staying dow low. And they passed a post up rule having players posting up for like 5 seconds before calling a violation. That made the role of low post big men irrelevant and prevented them from dominating.

And they passed a post up rule having players posting up for like 5 seconds before calling a violation.
