I have taken about a year on the engine build meow, and when i get home going to start on taking the old 2.2 out get it a paint job and looking spiffey, Or would you recommend fitting the engine in first so i can see whats going to have to be banged in for the tranny and then get it painted?

      I just got the hood back from paint shop yesterday. I installed it last night. But forgot to paint the latch. I had to get an engine in a car I bought to make some $$ on tonight. Should have video of finished hood Friday if all goes as planned.
      My summer has been crazy busy. Haven't taken as single car down the drag strip this year. YET! I have another Xtreme that I plan to do a detailed video on how to swap an ls into S-10. I want to take a weeks vacation to do it and stay on it till it's done, after it cools down. But I really need to hit 1,000 subs so I can get a few $$ for the video. I get a lot of ?'s regarding ls swap on this thing.

    Just a quick question. I'm getting back to. My s10 swap with ls. Was wondering do I use a return less style fuel. Regulator like the vette. I'm using an ls1 from an 05 gto. It was originally a 2.2 4 cyl. Was hoping I can get away with just some braid from the regulator to the motor for. Now to start it up. Appreciate if you get back to me

      The best source of pre written and researched advice is on the LS s10 forum. www.s10forum.com/forum/f213/lsx-conversion-information-390967/ Look at the stickies. That is where I chose what route to go. You can go cheap junkyard stuff or the nice Current Performance parts and harness. I did the Current Performance route. They are by far the easiest but definitely not the cheapest.

      The original cost with ls1 was probably in the 7 grand range. I have no real idea what I have in it now with the ls7, 9 inch rear and other goodies. You can do cheapie build for probably 4 or 5 grand. I used current performance wiring for all the parts to make it work easily. Their stuff isnt exactly cheap but worth it to me. The s10 forum in the ls section made it easy to figure out how to navigate the swap.

With the purchase price of truck with blown engine and everything I have done I think I have around 16k in it. What is the offset on your wheels, Front and rear?

    • @finalcallracing
      @finalcallracing  7 років тому

      Johnny B rears in this pic are 15x8 with 3.5 bs. Front I think are 15x4 with 1.625 bs. Rear end was narrowed. I nomally run 15x10 with 4.5 bs

    • @johnnyb5247
      @johnnyb5247 7 років тому

      Final Call Racing oh.. I didnt think about the different rear end, i got a sonoma with the factory 7.625 and i found the wheels i want 15x8 rear and 15x4 on front but i dont know what back spacing or offset to get...😕

    • @finalcallracing
      @finalcallracing  7 років тому

      I think my rear is only narrowed an inch each side but cant remember. S10s normally have no offset. so a 15x8 with 4.0 bs would be correct for stock s10 look. Take away .5 bs and that would put it at 3.5" and that would push the wheel closer to the outside.

      I bought a twin filter setup then bought some aluminum tubing same size as throttle body. I slightly smashed it oval to clear fans welded tubing to air filter setup and bought and 90 degree elbow and clamped it together.
