  • How to hit driver straight? How do you strike your irons solid? One thing that can really help is learning how to start the downswing correctly. How many times have you found yourself coming over the top, slicing the golf ball with your driver or striking the ground before the ball with your irons.
In this weeks golf lesson Danny Maude gives you what his students have called a game changer golf drill. It's a game changer because just one simple change in the way you move your feet can change everything

    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On UA-cam and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

This little freaky and implausible move has given me a feeling of using the ground I never believed possible. As with most things related to golf, everything ends up feeling the opposite of what it appears to be. Keep it up, Danny. You are my number one UA-camr for golf-related content.

Although it is early days, this drill has given me hope after years of golfing disasters. I have been pushing instead of pulling! I used to have a good long game but abismal short game, and trying to develop my short game, reduced my long game to being abismal as I grew older (75) and less agile. Just going through this drill has made everything much more effortless, even the short game, and I hope I can get back to enjoying playing. I don't need to be good, I just want to stop embarrasing mysellf. Thanks.

Danny I went to the driving range today and worked on tempo moving my feet , rocking myself and hitting easy shots. The ball rocketed off all my clubs straight as an arrow.
It was the best practice I ever had using all the irons and my hybrid.
I was taking such an easy swing and relaxing drills before the shot.
Your relax routine really works Danny and hitting easy shots
Feeling good where I am heading

This is a great drill that I’ve been employing for a couple of months with very good results. My ball-striking has improved and my standard flight is now a nice draw. The other advantage is that thinking only about the movement of my heels is a great, simple swing thought. Thanks Danny you’re a terrific teacher.

This winter I watched Rotary Swing on UA-cam and for the first time really dug into my swing and transformed it, but what you covered in this video was something I still wasn't doing correctly. I've integrated this movement into my new swing and it feels even better. I can't wait to get out to the course. I've only been hitting balls into a net in my detached garage, so who knows, but I think this year will be a breakthrough year for me! Thanks for this great video, it will help big time!

Been practicing using the Down Under Board, as my footwork was sloppy. That gave me ten yards on my irons as I stayed centered and did not sway off the ball. It also helped with early extension. The instructional video with the board really didn't explain the why's of how it works very well. So I hit the net on your early extension videos, which helped me understand the footwork aspect much better. Then I came across this puppy. This may add up to another ten yards. 8 iron carry for me has gone up from 140 to close to 150 with the board. I have a tendency for a pull as my miss large due to a lack of rotation. Using these two things, my rotation is so much more effective in translating into better contact and smash factor. Just hit a few balls on SkyTrak and this is sick awesome ! Ball is starting to the right of the target line with a draw. Carry is approaching 160. P.S. Shiels is good, but you are a little better. :-O

Another great dynamic drill with great presentation. I have never seen this one before. Great powers of observation on McIlroy. The drill was a big help along with the balance board drills that you showed in a previous video. Interestingly, when I was doing the less exaggerated version of the heel drill maintainedGreat drill!

Excellence is par fo your instructing Danny,I have only been playing a couple of years and during my first summer was able to strike my irons very well for a beginner but that changed when playing partners kept telling me I had too much weight on my front foot at the top of my swing causing my front knee to go forward as the club reached the top. I listened, and changed to how they felt my weight should be moving and proceeded to play terrible golf for months.something clicked after one of your lessons a couple of weeks ago,and thankfully I returned to my old ways .
Now hitting irons sweetly again.thanks so much Danny.

Hi Danny. I bought a couple of cheap waist twist boards which really got me used to the feel. Your drill really reinforces the feel which I can more readily take to the course. Just hit a few balls into the net and whow. This is the year I am not going to be hitting the ball with my weight in my trail leg !!! Thanks and as ever stay safe

@@dementus420 thanks!! I am very tall and have always come over the top and some of the videos just make it so simple!
Really wish I could go and actually hit a golf ball to try some!
This video clicked (as in made complete sense) straight away, also one on keeping the right shoulder back on the downswing really clicked too.
When it’s so simply explained it annoys me I haven’t done any of this sooner!! 😂😂

You are ABSOLUTLEY RIGHT Gregory. The "mind visual" thoughts he's giving us are so valuable. My thought here is back swing--left toes to right heal (left heal actually comes up!), down swing is left heal GOES BACK DOWN, weight in right heal goes to right toes into left heal!!! This felt so great!

I read you should pick one UA-cam channel only when working on your swing. Your videos make sense to me and help me a lot. Made the mistake this week of watching someone else’s online lesson and foolishly modified my swing. Made a mess of it until I reverted back and did some Danny Maude drills. Your videos are excellent. Thank you.

Super interesting video Danny. I have always struggled with getting a good balanced finish. Presently I’m working on getting my weight on my trail heel in the backswing and then getting my weight into my lead heel on my through swing. It has worked wonders for my balance. This is very similar.
