- Discord has finally done it, well maybe. Because they are working on a potential feature where you can get a discount on Discord nitro for either 1 month or 3 months.
How big is the discount? Well I can't tell you because I can't time travel. However I can tell you that Discord now allows you to log into your banned account. Why would you do that? To see what you got banned for silly (and to appeal). But the good from Discord don't stop there. Because we got a wackton of experiments that get a chronically online Discord mod like myself happy.
And for the Discord drama seekers, yes... of course there are dumb things Discord did. Like making Discord nitro more expensive for certain currencies or outright blocking you from buying nitro. Billy Mays here, but wait there's more. Discord also nuked a server and all the hardcore Discord sweats are going to be a little upsetti.

I am Argentinian and I consider that these adjustments were due to people using VPN to buy nitro cheaper.
However, I don't blame those people, even I myself have helped foreigners who came to my Argentine server to ask for someone to help them get the cheap nitro. It's nobody's fault but Discord's. it's obvious that they implemented their system terribly because they were not interested in Argentine pesos and never saw it as a long-term business, they were simply waiting for the right moment to earn dollars and fuck all us Argentines.

the logging into banned accounts saved my ass, automated discord support didnt let me appeal (clyde responded) but appealing within the account standing feature let me get my suspension reviewed and eventually undone!

their support doesnt go nowhere at all, try getting a warning on your account for sending a mp4 of memes and then contacting them about it and getting ignored, then ask why they are ignoring you but then they end the ticket pretty quickly cause they dont wanna deal with you but open the ticket back up then they block you from sending anything at all in that ticket cause they know they are in the wrong and refuse to offer you any support

my brothers previous account was a partnered server owner, and it got hacked one day. he came to discord for help on twitter, yet no response. multiple of his friends who were hacked before got helped quickly, but he didn't. he eventually got it back as the hacker sold it to someone who did the right thing and gave it back. after a while, his account was set for self destruction as he apparently "broke TOS". when he went to the support page and asked what he did wrong, they didn't specify. all they said was "you broke terms of service" his account was terminated a week later.
TLDR, Discords support team is absolute shit
Had a similar thing happen to me only I wasn't hacked, I was banned for 'spam' and 'breaking discord tos' with no prior warnings or suspensions.
My account got terminated despite my constant appeals all of which were met back with the same automated response and no response from their twitter or forum page.
The kicker? I never even spammed.

7:36 As an argentinian, that's the conversion from pesos to the official dollar, which is not so used, here in Argentina, there's different types of dollars, the official one (the one you buy at the bank, its cheaper but you can only buy 200 every month), the unofficial/blue one, which is kinda like an illegal dollar which is more expensive but you can buy those without the 200 dollar limit, there's other types of dollars but those aren't important in this situation.
TL;DR: NTTS showed the wrong type of dollar, a cheaper dollar type, so the conversion of 1 peso to dollars is kinda like half the price in dollars of what he showed in that graph.
I don't blame ntts for making that mistake since having different types of dollars in a single country is kind of confusing , also the official dollar is the first one that appears when you google it , so it was predictable that he would make that mistake (as many other did)

I will calculate for monthly nitro. The original price of a monthly nitro is 10 dollars, and it's currently 100 lira for us (Turkey). However they earning only ~3 dollars with that price. I was already expecting this with that economy but I hope it won't increase more because otherwise people won't be able to buy nitro.
100 liras is actually a lot for a digital subscription for most turks, I know it’s makes sense but mosts turks wouldn’t be willing to spend that much on a subscription. Also ten dollars is 300 liras not 100.

in argintina there's multiple forms of currency. most employers that aren't part of argentina pay in grey market pesos or through an american card, because their taxes are so high, if you pay via white market on something from an foreign company, you can lose upward of 50% of your money through taxes. most businesses accept grey market money because they're all poor and their grey market money is worth a whole lot more because it's less taxable.
so yea no wonder the peso is not worth anything nobody uses it.
everybody in Argentina uses it, it's still the country's official currency...

Neither of you state any sources but your comment sounds like you just said that because people in your country use the national currency. Just locking at the currencys value you can see there is something wrong over there so thinks working different is to be expected.
@@user-to7ds6sc3p reread my comment, "everybody in Argentina", not outside the country, and the country still doesn't let people to use other currencies for legal transactions, so if you want to trade with anyone inside of Argentina, you have to use the national currency.
+ the peso not being used outside of Argentina is not the reason of why it isn't worth anything, it has to be with extremely poor management from the government and corruption inside over the last 70 years (this part is not related to what you said, but more to the last part of what op said)

Turk here. I can tell you with the way things are going right now, Discord might stop accepting TRY as payements neither. Just like how Steam rolled back on their reigonal pricing too

I actually agree that. I contected them in a ticket once in my life for an issue, yeah i know i'm the one who is guilty. But they just replied with a solid, rude voice. I feel like there's another platform will pop up just like discord, and discord is gonna be less users (just an opinion).
Here is a person who lives in Argentina, I was going to spend a year buying nitro but the elimination of my currency and putting the price in dollars again was a tremendous blow in the balls knowing how expensive it will become with so little to offer.
If you want to see it in a way, before the nitro would cost us in dollars about one dollar (Yes, too cheap), now with this change we would have to have almost 10,000 Argentine pesos for the nitro.
I am seriously thinking whether to continue paying or cancel it, although it is a bit impossible because the page is down and does not let us cancel it.
When you can, cancel it. There have been two moments in my entire time on discord that I've wanted to use nitro features, and cancelling doesn't mean you can't use discord anymore.
I dont think the reason for the price increase in regards to specifically the argintinian peso is because of inflation, but because they have 2 exchange rates to the USD (yes this is very confusing and has crashed the argintinian economy 3 times) view the video made by HAI for more info, it’s super interesting
hello ntts!! also a reason that they deprecated Nitro in Pesos Argentinos, is because people in the US started using VPNs to make accounts in argentina to pay for cheaper nitro (As an Argentinian it hurts, because now a month of Nitro is 5 dollar when it used to be 50 cents for us which is still kind of a lot)

The discord banned accounts thing is not new, about 2 months ago when they falsely banned my account and i tried to login out of curiosity, they "permanently" banned my account without the option to appeal (according them, which i seen on this exact site.) but the next day i got my account back from support, not even a sorry or anything, just "i unlocked your account". Interestingly enough, the way they unlock your account is by forcing you to change your password.

actually, appeals do work. my brother had been open about getting banned on discord and he had tricked discord into unbanning him. these were circumstances that would never be considered with other people. it's cool to see a suspended page but it's difficult to wage how much positive impact it'll make apart from an email and form to appeal, maybe im missing something

Since phone services are mentioned. If your initial phone contract term runs out go to your provider and renegotiate. Assuming your contract is with a decent company you can either reduce your monthly costs without a contract duration or get a new phone extending your contract duration(Usually 2 years here). Personally I did not need a new phone when my contract ran out and I am paying half price from what it was before at a bit over 7€ per month now for my phone contract no questions asked.
If you do not go to your service provider they will just keep the current contract costs expecting you to take action. So if your contract term has ended get your ass there and save a bunch of money.

The price of Nitro in Turkey is still the same, example if 1$ = 1euro you sell nitro for 10$ but if 1$ goes to 0.5euro then you sell it for 20$, still same price.

Does the login into banned accounts apply to deleted accounts (banned accounts that were banned for more than a month already?) or are they completely deleted? I know discord will not actually ever delete my data they want to keep it but can i log in at least? I still don't know what i've been banned for........ In the email i got the reason was VERY broad
Nah I don't think so, deleted means it doesn't exist at all anymore, i.e. they don't even know your email address anymore...
