It's funny how some people think calling them Blackpink 2.0 is an insult. These girls love Blackpink and became idols at YG because of that love of BP. That is like trying to insult a rookie NFL quarterback by saying he looks and plays like Tom Brady. Not an insut. The success of YG with these girl groups is not just the style of music. There are things YG does with his girl groups that sets them apart (and way above) others.
1. Totally different vocal color, texture, and feel in all members. Most groups any single girl could sing the entire song and it would basically sound the same.
2. Be yourself. Unlike many other companies where it has come out that they are taught and told to fake their personalities, YG has a focus on them being authentic and gets rid of anybody who either is not or their authentic personality is crap. We love Blackpink and BabyMonster because they are authentic and good people.
3. Skills, skills, skills. Nobody makes the cut unless they are complete awesome live performers. Some top vocalists in other groups could not make the cut in YG (G-Idle, Illit)
AHH HOSHINING!! your videos just keep getting better and better! i completely agree with this video aswell. they have so much potential and i really want the best for them, but if they do end up having that blackpink sound i'm not sure if theyll ever escape the already huge hate train they have.

Baby monster is definitely VERY talented and has alot of potential, which will go wasted if YG keeps trying to push this cookie cutter "next blackpink" thing them
Its such a shame,its like they have no personality or character

But because they are from a big 3 company, people are going to stream their bad music like crazy and yg will get the money he needs

If YG's formula holds true, BABYMONSTER will be in the same position BLΛƆKPIИK members are in now! Able to pursue their OWN projects, companies- (individual contracts) and still promote ( Group contracts) using the group name which YGE owns. The fallout for YGE is a.. 'watch out or, you get more than you bargin for' paradox, brought about by YG himself, and his dream of an Elite ALL GIRL IDOL and Fashion Group. His dream gave BLΛƆKPIИK the leverage to negotiate these terms. The long drawn-out uncertainty, and outcome of these negotiations, caused YGE stocks to suffer, as well. It is obvious BLΛƆKPIИK,
( .. seen in their PINK VENOM tour) have outgrown YGE. BABYMONSTER will be the same. The 'You build it, they will come' mentally will have the high fashion houses in line again for BABYMONSTER Ambassadorships. The girls will become experienced, rich and independent. YGE will suffer the same fate from YG's dream, (formula, as you say 😁) again. BLΛƆKPIИK just passed their 8 year anniversary since debut. In comparison, the marked improvement of BABYMONSTER, ( in just over a year and change) since their Evalutation videos, makes me believe this is well possible for the members. Perhaps a good example for other IDOLs and a warning to the IDOL industry leaders themselves to opt for better treatment of those working in it ... 💯👍😁
For me i think that YGE followed the same strategy as jype did with NMIXX from the predebut videos to the one member leaving to the concept switch even Sheesh a lot of people said it reminded them of mixxpop with yge formula and now they are promoting baby monster as a live performance group
which nmixx already have been very popular for their singing and what triggers me is that now the fans of babymon are acting like babymon is the standard of something
you might be thinking iam exagirating but yg as always considered jyp their number 1 opponent it
i hope yg stop being an asshole and give the girls their proper formula and keep nmixx out of their storyboard
i can see this but i feel like they are mostly also trying to replicate blackpink formula more then nmixx tbh
YG should step up his game because with successful groups rising left and right, it's difficult to have the same exact sound they've had for 3 GENERATIONS. These girls are so amazing, half the members are all rounders and all of them are perfectly stable during live performances and their vocals, rap and dance is just amazing. They may have competition but it's an easy win against most groups because of their talent. If only YG tried, at least tried for a different direction, Babymonster would've had as much impact as NewJeans because they tried a different sound. In the midst of so many groups doing girl crush concepts, NewJeans brought Y2K, making them stand out. Many other groups followed NewJeans' Y2K concept and when everyone was doing Y2K, Kiss Of Life is doing something totally different. Babymonster is also different in comparison to other groups but, they're no different from the exact same YG sound. Maybe he can try a different approach, experiment with different sounds, play with other concepts he's never tried.
Babymonster has the potential to be a leader in the 5th gen, but with the same type of sounds YG has done for decades, they might be overlooked as another BlackPink.

I feel like baby monster doing girl crush also could have brought in different wave of attraction because girl crush is kind of dying out and being replaced by a teen crush so it would be a different vibe to bring that concept back, but the execution of it is definitely bad so people are just rightfully, disappointed
Yes! and we can't forget the impact that blackpink had with girlcrush on kpop, like, there were almost two generations of new girlgroups investing in this concept (especially in 2020), I understand that it's the YG formula but kpoppers have already saturated with this concept
and why do we need another newjeans then ppl would say they are copying newjeans ppl whould have found smth to complain about regardlless ppl are just ughhhhh
