Thanks a lot, that was really helpful. I installed Paraview-5.11 on Ubuntu 20.04 and it worked great, except I had an issue with launching paraview from the terminal. I could only use the icon. Then I found out that openfoam-10 has its own bashrc file in the /opt/openfoam10/etc/ directory. I looked at it and found a solution : just add a line in my .bashrc file giving the path to the new paraview libraries. In my case it was : alias paraview511='LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/opt/ParaView-5.11/lib/mesa/ paraview511' Then source the .bashrc. Just in case somebody needs the tip.

This is so great! Thank you for this video. Reproducing some comments below: there is a typo in 12:28, correct Ayatana for Ayanata.

Thank you very much bruh!
You're welcome!
Isnt it possible to open and view the mesh using OpenFOAM commands in WSL? Both the paraFoam and paraview commands aren't working..
Install paraview externally in windows. I have already explained that in openfoam installation video tutorial. You can check that.
hey, does it work without uninstalling the paraviewopenfoam56 at the beginning ?
Yes
following this instructions, the Paraview window open but closed automatically!! why?
Thank You! The best!

You can type "foamVersion" to check which openfoam version you have installed.

At the same time step, check location of the icon. I guess you need to replace "ParaView" with "ParaView-5/10"
Did you solve this problem?
Give the full path of the paraview; e.g., Exec=/opt/Paraview-5.11/bin/paraview and also correct the typo Ayanata for Ayatana
It worked for me after I made the first change
so, first, you need to correct two typos in your text, and second you will need to reboot to make it happen
