    Yes I would fill the oil fully, saturns do love to burn oil, although I do have a 1995 Saturn sc1 with 265k miles, that burns no oil, I recommend putting full synthetic, if you have a oil burning SATURN, it slows it down a lot

      Another suggestion for oil burning saturns is add 4 cups seafoam in oil, then split the rest by sucking in through pcv valve in a hot engine and soak for 15 minutes. Put the rest in gas tank. Mine used to burn a quart every gas stop (~300 miles) and now burns less than a quart every 1000 miles-- significantly better, I do this 300 miles before every oil change.

      I have a 1995 wagon with 119k miles. I bought it 4k miles ago and told it had fresh oil change. I believed him of course and I check my oil this morning. Not a single drop on the stick.

      You can't drive those 4000 miles and expect there to be oil.

    Only watching since I just bought two saturns, an SW1 and SW2. Both manual from 1998. Havent owned one before and needed to find out where the oil filter is

    I have a 1995 Saturn SW2 Wagon (automatic)
    Just drove it from Indiana to Florida (15.25 hours) it shifts hard from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd gear but if you time it right and let off the gas it shifts like butter. Also it burns half a quart of oil every 750 miles but if you top it off every gas station stop it stays happy. I drove it 36 hours in 5 days and it’s at 128,000 miles. Sadly I bought it at the peak of car prices (2022) for a whopping 1900$ at 114,000 miles. Was owned by a grandma so very well kept she was just hard on the gas and banging gears at every stop light.

      It was the cheapest, low mile, well kept vehicle on Facebook marketplace and I’d been searching for weeks after selling my 2010 Honda accord so I’d figure I’d give saturn a try and I love it to death, just don’t get the automatics they shake the floorboard when shifting

    You always prefill oil filter canister type. All old mechanic say to do that. Get with the program fella.

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  3 роки тому +2

      That is the official old guy thing to say. On the old old cars from the 1960's like my original SBC in my Camaro yes you do. But on modern cars it is unnecessary. Also, what if the filter is perpendicular to the engine block? All the oil would just spill out. Thanks for watching!

    • @victoryfirst2878
      @victoryfirst2878 3 роки тому

      @@2carpros The trick is to just coat the element a little bit. By slowly spilling oil from a quart onto the filter slowly as you turn the filter. Easy peasy. This really helps. Good day fella too.
