  • This scene is the only time Crowley calls Aziraphale “My angel” (“Mon ange”) in French (France). In French Canadian, he does it often however. I think they wanted us to understand that Anathema thinks Azi and Crowley are a couple (just like in the book) and that’s why they went with “mon ange”. That’s so sweet!
    French (France):
Azi: "Oh, look! No speed. This is a perfectly normal velocipede.” / “Oh, regardez ! Pas de vitesse. Voilà un vélocipède parfaitement normal."
Crowley: "A bicycle! Can we go? Come on, climb, my angel.” / “Une bicyclette ! On peut y aller ? Allez grimpe, mon ange."
    French (Canada):
Azi: "Oh, look! No gears, nothing more than a good old velocipede." / “Oh, regardez ! Pas d’engrenage, rien de plus qu’un bon vieux vélocipède."
Crowley: "We say bicycle! Can we get back on the road? Come on, come up, my angel." / “On dit bicyclette ! On peut reprendre la route ? Allez monte, mon ange."
In this scene, my favourite dubs are: French (France and Canada), German, Greek, Spanish (Latin America), Italian, Malay, Dutch, Portuguese (Portugal), Romanian and Telugu.
    What are your personal favourites?
Thank you for watching! I'll be posting more multilanguage videos soon, so stay tuned!

I love how Crowley calls Aziraphale "Tenshi-san" in japanese. The -san is a formal way of adressing someone. It could be translated to Mr. Angel. But not quite.

But what I really love about "Angle" is how you can actually call your partner sweet names, blurring those lines. Unlike "tenshi san," where nobody really calls their close friends "san."

Crowley's "Steig ein, Engel!" (Get in, Angel!) in German sounds so urgent xD
Like he really wants to get out of that situation, because he knows Aziraphale will blow it if he keeps talking...

I didn't know I needed to hear Crowley call Aziraphale "Angel" in a bunch of different languages, but I really did need it.

Omg I love this scene (because of that hilarious side grin on Aziraphale's face), thank you for this 😂 Also "mon ange" akjfksjkdk Crowley sounds so fucking romantic 😭 Love your reasoning for its rare use here too! I thought it was a shame they couldn't convey Anathema's thoughts since we don't get to look inside her head in the TV version.
    Dutch transcript + translation:
Aziraphale: Nou, kijk! Geen versnellingen. Gewoon een doodnormale vélocipède. / Would you look at that! No gears. Simply a perfectly normal velocipede.
Crowley: Een fiets. Kunnen we nu door? Stap in, engel. / A bicycle. Can we get on now? Get in, angel.
Crowley really had to stretch "fiets" there since it's only one syllable, whereas the English word has three 😂 It definitely makes him sound more annoyed than the original.

Yes you're right, it's a shame that we can't see better that Anathema thinks they're a couple in the TV show.

    Spanish transcripts and translations!
    LAM:
Azi: ¡Oye! ¡No tiene motor! Es una velocipeda perfectamente normal. (Hey! It doesn't have a motor! It's a perfectly normal velocipede.)
Crowley: Bicicleta. ¿Nos vamos? Entra, ángel. (Bicycle. Let's go? Get in/come in, angel.)
    Castellano:
Azi: ¡Anda mira! ¡Sin marchas! Un velocípedo normal y corriente. (Oh look! No gears! A normal velocipede.)
Crowley: Bicicleta. ¿Podemos irnos? Entra, ángelito. (Bicycle. Can we go? Get in, little angel.)
I will forever love the castellano voice actors (yes I am probably biased). He also calls Azi "my angel" in the br Portuguese dub. I love it when they do that

@defelozedd94 honestly as someone who's Catalan and listens to a lot of Spanish dubs, the Castellano ones aren't always the best. Good omens however has exceeded my expectations. Hazbin Hotel was pretty good too, but not as good as LAM or Italian. Can you tell I'm a nerd about dubs?
