There have been few (exceedingly rare) instances where a free agent or drafted rookie immediately turned a ne'er do-well team into a Super Bowl contender. Brees and the Saints. Peyton and the Colts (maybe). Reggie White and Green Bay (kinda sorta). Even Dallas needed multiple Hall of Fame players with Aikman, Smith, and Irvin. I don't see how Atlanta bringing in new *placeholders* of above average talent will transform them into a team like the Chiefs or the Patriots with Brady. Cousins is older, injured, and without playoff success. Judon is a good player ... but not on par with White, Taylor, and Aaron Donald. Simmons isn't Polamalu or a Reed or a Sanders. All will be good, an improvement even, but not earth shattering and paradigm altering players. Expect more of the same. Go with the chalk. Penix has a better chance of elevating their status via Mahomes or Burrows than Cousins and some utility defensive players. But Penix will need to wait a few years so the GM can justify the contract that landed Cousins. A waste of the talent in Penix.
