Crystal Your patio looks great. I would get the extra table now. If you wait they might not have it when you need it. You don't even have to put it together yet. Just check the table to make sure it's not damaged. You might just want to use that table to put the food on as extra serving buffet etc.
Really good idea for the extra tables, our family always struggles to find somewhere else to put drinks, spare food etc!

The top patio looks so good. Would buy an extra table for any invited/uninvited guests, plus you never know when this table style could be discontinued. The view is so pretty. Blessings to you all.

Agreed. Im also really getting fond of Hannah. She has really matured and stepped up since alex, halie, and ariana left. She seems a lot calmer, happier, more confident and very maternal. She is an excellent organizer and she is great with the little kids.

You could use regular tables as you have them, then make a wider longer timber top to go over one of them for bigger crowds. Once it's covered with table cloth it just looks like a big table. We did it. Works a treat! Just store the top away when not needed.
Looks amazing! Can't wait to see it when it is done! Savannah is so awesome! Love her personality and willingness to jump in and help. And all of your kids that helped, too! This space will be a wonderful place for family time!

Crystal, Your niece Kylie is creative. I suggest you speak with her b4 you buy. She can possibly customize the ideal dining table to meet your vision. Family dinners are extremely important. They are difficult bc family members have varying schedules. I always was adjusting dinner times to accommodate this important family time. Each of us had to share one highlight of our day. We learned so much about each other. We also had a two minute timer that taught every one had to organize their thoughts as well as giving each one a opportunity to speak. It also controls the determined meal time. It takes self discipline, builds self confidence and prepares everyone for class discussions, adult community meetings, family event planning and so much more. Its a healthy on going growth experience. Yes! Everyone is required to speak. We all have something special that takes place in our day, even as simple as waking up. It will take time to establish this family practice. Good luck. You have a wonderful vision now make it happen. 🙏 Prayers for patience and success. Its not the table, chairs, its the people that will make it come true.

Oh my God I am so excited for this podcast. I’m adopted I’m 27. And I have always had questions for your kids of how that feels and what they do to make themselves feel better. I feel like I have a lot of deep rooted trauma that I’ve never got closure for. So I’m definitely going to be submitting some questions eventually. If it is metal, it will get really hot in the summer! It is going to be gorgeous!!! I come from a big family. Not as big as yours though. We also had extra loves, (foster children) I think the most we had was 12 for a while. I remember my mom always making a huge dinner on Sundays, because she said, "You never know who might just show up!" She was right! People always showed up for dinner on Sundays! My mother was a fantastic cook! My youngest brothers were twins. When my mother passed, a bunch of my brothers friends came to the service and laughed and told stories how they would time their visits so it was just before dinner time, hoping to get an invite! They always did get an invite! I sure do miss my Mom and Dad. Especially this time of year. Keep making those wonderful memories! They will never forget!

Hi Crystal and Crazy Pieces! I paused the video to type this out after seeing you show the place for the makeover and everything around. It would be so easy to figure out the location of your house, this made me feel concerned. The more popular you get, the more people see you, and unfortunately not all the eyes are kind and good. I have seen too many videos of ppl intruding into youtubers' lives and houses and not all of these videos are pranks. You have such a big family and with all the commutes and routines, security can or should be a big concern. Maybe I sound paranoid, and people anyways know where you live, but please please do not show too much detail unneccessarily. I just wish you guys are always safe.
I would get multiple narrow Ikea tables. They can be linked together to make one long table or you can separate them out for use for other things too. Like a party where you want to make smaller tables like a restaurant feel. Lots of chair options there too.

Love the patio and you can always throw a tablecloth on the ping pong table and use it as a buffet table and place dishes on it ( mom did that when we had 37 for thanksgiving dinner on year)

I have an idea for a fun trip for you and there you could also volunteer since you mentioned liking to volunteer.I don't know how far it's from you but as you showed the mountains I had to think of Cerro Gordo (it's in California too) it would be so fun if you visited Brent in his ghost town, he metal detects and could teach your kids so much about history and mines and he is almost always looking fo helping hands and he has a UA-cam channel you might want to check out, it's called ghost town living.
Also I really liked watching the makeover 😊
To keep all the tables together you need to bolt them together and plus hopefully it will make them heavy enough they won't move or blow around

That's what my comment was about...distance from kitchen to upper balcony dining area...I'm so confused.
If your winds are anything like our Santa Ana ones, you should at least plan on getting stuff off the tables when things pick up. If your house sits the wrong way, tables and chairs can get scooped up by the winds and deposited in the pool. Always an interesting sight first thing in the morning. :-)

You guys should contact a local artist to make a custom table! Helps them out and you could get a one of a kind piece.
Something that can be easily separated and moved but come together and lock with the ability to be weighted are amazing. I’d get some super comfy bench swings. All white or black, clean lines and modern that could be moved around. Of course the fire pit and maybe some bonsais trees or a lemon, pear or small apple tree potted. Maybe easy to care for plants that attract butterflies.
I’m typing as I’m watching and I dig what you guys have done so far but every 2/3 years switch it up.
I saw a beautiful “s” shaped table that fit 30 while on vacation in Martha’s Vineyard. It was cool as hell and could be separated to make a zigzag. Great way to see more people rather than just a long table.
One thing - no tvs! Let the sunset and the view be enough even if it’s just for an hour ✌🏽So important to really take in a moment. That’s why I love photography. There is a great quote out there that basically says you’re capturing a moment in time you’ll never get back. But I have to remind myself to be present and not get stuck behind the lens. Easy to hide when you’re the photographer 🤷🏻♀️
Edit: I grew up on the coast so I always went to the beach. That was my playground and my peace! I love when people create rock sculptures on the beach and I’ve had an idea to one day have an adult sandbox if you will lol.. with beautiful white sand and unique rocks so at parties, anyone could make little rock art formations. A little zen to get people of any age doing something creative ❤
Kids are going to be chasing basketballs and ping pong balls down the stairs all the time! 😂.
Maybe some sort of curtain across to block the wind, that can be opened for the view?
If you're thinking of another table, you might want to get it now in case they discontinue that model

If my plans work out, I will hopefully be moving to Arizona in the next 3-4 years. My body can't handle the cold weather in NY anymore. RA is kicking my butt already this year and we are only in November.. We visited the Phoenix area in August and we fell in love with the area... So maybe one day we will be able to pull off a big move!

Designer here... kind of wish the basketball hoops were out of the center line of view as you walk out the door... prob better off to the right past the ping pong table. It's like they become the main focal point... but you have the amazing view. Also... I'd get the 4th table now and store if you don't need it yet, so that it matches. A few years from now you'll need it and it probably will not still be made. Xo💕

Not at all. I'd get an engineer to assess the balcony and give it a rating for weight bearing. There have been
some tragic cases where balcony supports have failed resuIting in death or traumatic injury. It's not
over-thinking when it could happen. . Since they didn't build the house, they most likely aren't aware of the weight-bearing limit. There may be some mention of it in the building plans, tho.
Honestly I never believed that things happen for a reason, but now looking back I definitely feel that way. A situation happened when I was at school which ended up with me threatening to take my life if I had to go back to school, (I was struggling mentally at the time and 5 years prior) luckily my mum took it seriously and looked into homeschooling which ended up happening, then a couple of months later I found a collage kinda thing that I was able to go to (I was 15) and I didn’t really want to but decided to try it. Now I’m still going a year later doing catering course, I’ve got my first job, I am doing so much better mentally and it’s nearly been 4 years since my last unalive attempt and nearly 4 months since I last self h@rmed. I’m still struggling with trauma but still getting better everyday. You guys have genuinely showed me hope and that life is definitely worth living and I’ll forever be grateful for that. Sorry some of this comments a bit deep. Love you all. And I promise to everyone, life WILL get better, it may take time but it will, stay strong, you’re never alone💖💖💖
