I wish all drummers were THIS aware of how responsible they are for the overall sound of a record. They should dedicate as much time to the art of drum tuning and forget about all the flashy stuff. Well done Mr. Sinta!
Make sure you have speakers/earphones with decent bass response so you can *feel* how deep the bass is, and good treble so you can _hear_ the snappiness of the snare. Say "Boots and pants and boots and pants and" etc. Boots is bass, pants is snare.

Thanks Andy, I agree!
Very cool and informative! I'm impressed with that DW snare & the tones you're able to pull from it.
No gaff tape: Pop snare
1 gaff tape: Parade snare
4 gaff tapes: Rope tension field drum

Man, i would never had come up with that last one! I'm using silicone pads on both snare and floor tom heads... what's any one's opinion on that?
Hi Peter..I assume you are referring to dampening for sound? I saw whatever works...if you think it sounds good then it's working.
What hats are you using? Old new beats?
