    If you count in that Delta is also useful in TCG right now then Gamma is worth it

    • @JessePerezStrategyGaming
      @JessePerezStrategyGaming  6 місяців тому +3

      Your absolutely right and I'm gutted i didn't mention delta. But we can pseudo use the x3 ratio math that I put in to talk about delta because running 1 gamma and 2 delta is very similar math to 3 gamma the percentages change very slightly.
      Delta is harder to trigger on your turn 1 which gamma has a much better chance to trigger, but at the sametime spell spam like bonfire, wanted, spoils, etc is very common on the enemys turn so there is value there. It might be worthwhile to even put in a PSY-framelord Lambda if your regular deck spams and can squeeze an extra deck spot.
      Something i need to look into. Thanks for mentioning that.

    I like to run it in Performapals, since they can Pendulum summon Driver as a consolation, Gamma can punish interruption against Monkeyboard (which will almost assuredly take an interruption if there is one in play), a pendulum summoned level 2 can float into Nirvana High Paladin off the Gamma/Driver synchro, and you can even theoretically use Driver as a Small World bridge for Monkeyboard (If you open it, you can also pretty easily use it for small world to grab Skullcrobat Joker)

    I would like to see your take on the maths behind Pot of desires ! Is it worth playing at 2 or 3, should you up your deck count above 40 in case you resolve two in the duel ? What’s the probability of banning an important one of in your deck. What’s the probability of banning all 3 copies of an engine piece.

    • @JessePerezStrategyGaming
      @JessePerezStrategyGaming  5 місяців тому +1

      It's always worth a shot I would try it. If your playing 2 destiny fusion and 2 bricks is very similar to playing 2 gamma and 1 brick. However DPE and gamma serve very diffrent roles and playstyles. Gamma is great anti handtrap and can win the game almost singlehandedly if used on your own turn. While DPE is a recurring threat until eliminated and great in grinding control style decks that deplete resources.

      Not always. You can be going second and Gamma being your only point of interaction on your opponents turn so you'd need to use it if you don't want the opponent to have their ideal end board. It isn't uncommon to have duplicates in your starting hand or draw into one on your turn as a turn 2 player. On the other hand I see that as one of the weaknesses of Gamma as well since turn 3 and onwards it won't help your game plan since you'd already be fielding monsters.

    Banger. This is great content, deck builders need this kinda stuff cause alot like to use numbers and ratios like your other video but they use them wrong or with half truths. Like pak vs jessie on snakeeyes, pak said you needed like 20 one card starters jessie said its redundant at that point cause the overlap leads to dead cards in hand.

    Imo gamma should be at 3 in Master duel. In that case You have to dedicate 4 slots in your deck to essentially use one cards effect once. If you draw double gamma or gamma with driver it’s a brick.
    Powerful effect but essentially limited to one use with very specific activation conditions and high deck investment with brick chance.
    Should be at 3
    High risk high reward card. Often times it either wins you the game because it’s a blow out or costs you the game because you need an interaction but can’t use it

    great content! really liked the discussion on context accompanying the math and statistics(as you called it the gamma paradox) as well as it being really prevalent in SHS decks.
    new mic is doing wonders! out of the topics I saw you bring up last video I think a Going 2nd discussion video would be interesting, boardbreakers vs handtraps.
    Seems like in the TCG it leans full handtrap to stop Snake Eyes, haven't checked the OCG, but in MD you already have to run 3x Maxx C, 3x Ash to stop the Maxx C so wouldn't it make sense to just double down on HTs since 6 of your 40 are already dedicated to HT (and a common thought process is Ash + another HT is enough to stop most decks).
    Although for decks with big engines boardbreaker approach might make more sense due to space issues(and how to determine the threshold at which you should consider boardbreaker approach vs HT taking in account how many starters/engine you have to run) or even considering a higher deck count than 40 in going 2nd decks with big engines to accommodate more HTs

    I would like to see you tackle the optimal ratios for Labrynth engine cards and normal traps in both furniture and trap builds. I believe many lists of the top Lab lists in Master Duel are the product of conventions that formed over time, but I have never seen anyone do the math on it. It would be interesting to see how to classify and weigh the importance of each card.

    Nice video, It'd be awesome if you can make a video about deck size. I often run 45-ish cards in my deck because I find it to be the sweet spot of having some consistency and not drawing the card you want to search. 40 card deck is more consistent but you also open your (soft/hard) brick more consistently.

    • @JessePerezStrategyGaming
      @JessePerezStrategyGaming  5 місяців тому +1

      yes many people have been suggesting that idea and i am excited to cover it and provide information on that subject in depth. a 45 card deck isn't as bad as some players make it out to be if you can keep your consistency for starters around 85% . funny enough even though a 40 card deck is technically more consistent, a 60 card deck can hard brick less if its running garnets because there's a better chance to not see that garnet. An interesting topic for sure! Great suggestions and thanks for watching! Looking forward to doing a big breakdown of pros and cons of these bigger decks.

      Good point! snake eyes is very good with gamma its just a struggle to find space with them because diabelle engine is taking up alot of space. i think when snake eventually finds itself on the banlist we can experiment with some gamma & delta ratios. Also, we can also make openings with SE-ash and oak when we send them to the gy as well they are temp off the field.

    absolutely crushing it mate. Nice to see the new mic!! At least in the TCG/OCG formats, a lot of people are playing Psy-Frame Delta (i think? The one that negates spells), would be nice to see what the numbers are for playing 1-2 Delta + the Gamma + the Driver. In any case, love the numbers, keep these videos coming. These are amazing.
    *Edit: Would also be nice to know what the numbers are for playing "engine requirements" (read: bricks) in a deck, how many should you (not) play, what's too many, etc. Last video you showed it's better to run 2 engines for example, but what if those engines each has a brick? what if they have 2? what's the numbers for playing THREE engines (with/out bricks)?

Its funny because i have been telling people for a while that 60 card decks can actually mathematically have the advantage over 40 card decks because they are less likely to draw garnets in their deck because of the shear size. Will be discussing this topic further in that video in there for sure.

    New mic lesgoo🎉 great video once again! I think you should put a disclaimer at the beginning that your math is only applicable for 40 card decks, just for those who aren't aware of the implication! Keep it up!
    Also wanted to point out that winrate of card in deck is not the full story, there is also winrate when played (summoned, activated, etc.). This is of course skewed for cards like Dark Strike Fighter but also provides some insight on the power level!

    • @JessePerezStrategyGaming
      @JessePerezStrategyGaming  5 місяців тому +1

      Yes, very true. The math changes very slightly for 60 card decks ~1% point so I didn't want to overwhelm people with numbers and text. I will keep that in mind to use more small disclaimers though I try to be as transparent as possible on these things. Thanks for watching!
      Also, Speaking of cards like Dark Strike fighter, my favorite misleading stat is Holactie the Creator of Light has a 100% win rate when summoned/played. :D Maybe ill make a troll video on that for April 1st.

    The mic upgrade is dope! I'm loving the content so far. I've got a question that might be a video you're already working on but if not I've been curious of something for a while but I'm not smart enough to be confident in my maths. What is the optimal number of "3 of" hard once per turn cards to run to avoid opening 2 of the same once per turn effect? I hope I worded that well enough. I tried to reverse engineer some poker math about hitting pairs but I didn't really know what I was doing. Basically I can't stand opening 2 of the same OPT effect cause it can turn 5 card hands into effectively 4 or 3 card hands. Obviously it can't be avoided entirely but I am curious where the diminishing returns are when it comes to maxing out copies of hard OPTs.
    Keep up the good work excited to see where the channel goes!

    Shouldn't we consider the chances of Gamma also being a dead card (i.e. when you draw it going first) for this?

    • @JessePerezStrategyGaming
      @JessePerezStrategyGaming  6 місяців тому +1

      Depends, we shouldn't really be playing gamma in the first place in a deck that can't use spells to bait it. Ritual decks with pre prep and preps, dogmatica punishment decks, wanted/sinful spoils engine, decks that use field spell searchers, etc are usually great using gamma.
      Funny enough your reasoning could be the exact reason why Gamma was only 60% win rate in Superheavy Sam when the rest of the cards were 60+ is because the times they drew it they might be struggling with GAmma in their deck because gamma was a dead card for them when they went first and didn't have enough extenders. Although if they do start with the pendulum effect first they could bait out handtraps and make gamma live. Its an interesting discussion point.
      I think your right we should really scrutinize gamma if gamma is even worth it in the deck so it doesn't become bricks in certain scenarios like the one you mentioned.
      Thanks for watching :)

    Great Video! Just saw your reply to my comment on your other video. Mic is definitely way better, and it definitely makes the music less of a distraction. personally i would still lower the music a little, I think with the new mic you dont have to take the music out completely, but I would lower it a little.
    That being said, I have always had this weird feeling about gamma, even when it was at 3 in the TCG it never felt good (for me) to play it, I feel like at this point in yugioh I do not want to run any hard bricks, and driver is a hard brick. Let alone now that its at one, unless youre running like say a runic deck where you can discard the gamma, or youre running max sinful spoils engine so easy discard fodder, i could see that, but in decks that can't ustilize that i think its a terrible HT choice despite its power (especially since that means you would have to commit 2 ED slots for it, and the SE decks are tight in space). Also that being said i think pure SE can run it, but FKSE should not, especially since driver doesn't compliment your hand in any way if you open up a bunch of Fire king cards.

    • @JessePerezStrategyGaming
      @JessePerezStrategyGaming  6 місяців тому +1

      Great glad to see the audio is better and I can lower the music also as well thats helpful. Your right about Driver really feeling bad. It has a 12.5 percent chance to be in your hand at 40 cards in your first 5 and psychology basically makes it so we remember the Brick Drivers in our hands wayyy more than our Gammas hands. At 12.5% I don't think its that bad when we consider the inverse is a 87.5% chance that it won't be in our first 5 but if it comes up in a tournament setting that could really be a big chance of being a loss if we don't have a good supporting discard engine like you said.
      There have been very weird times where a driver has saved me from stun decks it got me out of TCBOO scenarios but those are few and far between.

    • @TheAlfredo094
      @TheAlfredo094 6 місяців тому +4

      Do you think it's worth talking about the psychology of stats? A lot of people struggle a lot to understand stats; they will, for example, run a card as a 2-of instead of a 3-of because they "see it too much in doubles" or they will maindeck more going 2nd cards because they "tend to lose more die rolls"; would this be a subject that is in scope of this channel? @@JessePerezStrategyGaming

      @@JessePerezStrategyGaming there's more to think about as well, bc that 12.5% increases when you take into acct your 6th card going second. Also I think in Yu-Gi-Oh a 12.5% chance of opening your brick is still too high, when it comes to the % chance of opening a card or combo of cards I do not want to open, I strive to keep it below 5%, since opening the brick 1/20 games can be negligible if your deck runs a lot of 1 card starters + extenders. We can extrapolate on this idea to formulate what size decks you should run depending on your brick count, as well as how the % of opening a one card starter can allow for a larger margin for opening bricks. Like centurion for instance I would say can run gamma since outside of emit, their entire archetype does the same thing. Just a thought
