Crossout for Little D will become a part of my side deck.
I don't know where you're getting these numbers from. Bc both me and my wife play Swordsoul Tenyi, and both run blackout at 2. So idk how your stats show 100% of people playing it at 1! And I've seen others in ranked playing it at 2 also. So that 100% isn't correct.
These are from tournament decks run at MDM and the ratios that they run & Master V and Higher decks submitted to the website.
@@JessePerezStrategyGaming so they have to be submitted to count?
Dude.... From where did you take those numbers???
My Herald of Perfection 60 card combo deck is definitely a coin flip deck and always wants to go first. My side deck is nearly all cards that are advantageous for when I go 2nd without compromising the way my deck functions. Putting consistency issues aside, my deck is capable of putting down a more powerful opening board than what your opponent put down and with a bit more card advantage. Of course, it's a matter of whether or not I open with my combo pieces or if my deck bricks if I'm able to combo off. It's pretty satisfying ending on a board of Herald of Perfection with multiple negates, Saryuja Skull Dread, 2 Thunder Dragon Colossus, Archlord Kristya, Eradicator Epidemic Virus, and 1 to 3 Solemn Judgments. There's only a few cards in the game that can possibly break through all of that, and even then, the opponent would have to use up a lot of resources, most likely. It's also interesting that you mentioned Pot of Avarice as a card, because my deck runs 3 and abuses it with The Agent of Creation - Venus and Saryuja Skull Dread to Link Summon spam and keep drawing through my deck and fixing my hand until I end on a nearly unbreakable board. I also use 1 Exodius the Ultimate Forbidden Lord as a pseudo Pot of Avarice and as combo support for Venus.
Making the Yu-Gi-Oh community worse at deckbuilding one video at a time. Thank you king 🙏🏽 Also you completely misunderstood the definition of winmore
Good thing these weren't my definitions I used a collection of definitions from what the community generally went with. 😅 as seen from the reddit threads .
@@JessePerezStrategyGaming Reddit threads are a terrible source for information lmao
Agreed, mainly tried to cover all my bases but it looks like it turned more into an English class with diffrent definitions when my specialty is math. 😆
Watching this makes me question some people's example of what a "win more" card is. Archetypal traps specifically feel weird to call "win more."
I actually would have agreed but I think it's what the majority of the comments here belive too. So after doing research it looks like it's the popular belief.
I'm pretty sure that most people consider a win more card to be something that is absolutely unnecessary and is only useful when you're already in a very comfortable spot, but this is still a pretty good video regardless. Demonstrates well that some of these cards that seem to only be good with an already established advantage actually have a great home in their strategies. Practicality is everything.

Last duel was great, got a vv deck list?
This was such a funny video, you put some really good jokes in there!
To me, a “win more” card is a card which on paper has a big pay off but when you look at the investment needed there’s like 20 other things you can do with less investment that still comfortably wins you the game anyway. Like, your deck might be able to make a six material Arrival Cyberse @Ignister to kill the opponent, but why would you do that when for way less effort you can just kill your opponent with Accesscode Talker?
Do people forget that Talents searched via Thrust first turn cannot be activated? Video kinda make it seem like you can. 2 Thrust 1 Talent is great for Going 2nd Decks or Decks who main strong blow out Trap Cards (unusual). 2 Talents no Thrust seems more reasonable to me for a going 1st deck, and side 2 Thrust in and 1 Talent out no matter if you go 1st or 2nd (if 1st then you can match it with blowout traps, if 2nd its basically a better Talent like you said).
This guy is not only a talented duelist and math whiz, but also really funny.
Hmm... Would my trap card Destrcution Sword Flash be a "Win more" card? Since it can only be activated when I have Buster Lock on the field, it's good when a link with more than 2800 ATK appears on the field or when the opponent has 4 monsters on the field then I can avoid the arrival of the kaiju goddess from the extra deck. And in GY it gives target protection for the Buster Blader fusion.
In the tear community, the uncultured view winda as "win more", but the true believers know she *win*da game.
I always thought win more meant "only useful when you're in a good spot, absolute dogwater otherwise," then you pull out the various ways other people use it and I'm once again realizing how weird slang in this game can be. More importantly, math!
man that opponent was cancer. perfect example of why i hate handtraps. they just favor boring combo decks who only need 1 card to combo off and have a bunch of leftover cards on hand at the end of the turn.
I was ENRAGED at the ash blossom lol. The maxx c actually didn't bother me too much as he already blew threw 90 percent of his ED already. But that ash was brutal because it messed up my thought amd how I originally was going to combo.
Feather storm = win more (i didn’t watch the video yet)
I heard u have a discord for deck help, what’s it called? Lol
Link is in the description. When your in the discord we have a special section where you can put your decklist up for review.
22:03 is the opponent big mistake. They know that you only have 1 card in hand, and they have imperm, and Skull Guardian have no negation effect yet and try to get vv monster, but they wait until it has the omni negate and let you draw lo, then they play imperm. It is already too late. Even after they negate the Skull Guardian, they still have banish effect and pop, they should win that duel. This duel, I believe, it does not proof anything on win more card. VV should lose on that duel if the player knows vv well. They just need to learn when to negate and don't just click anything that glows.
So the opponent didn't have full knowledge. They did misplay but only because they didn't know I had a Suarvis in hand. If they activate imperm on my summon they miss their opportunity to summon Promethian there so they chose to summon promethian to pop instead of use imperm. If they did it the other way around then that also would change how I would play because i have the Suarvis in hand so then i could chain suarvis to the activation of imperm instead getting the search of a card and letting Skull get popped but still have a search of a card. I could grab a lo, and now get my whatever card in need for the situation (probably the trap) and if lo didn't get s:p banished i could go into typho and if she didn't I could do something diffrent with the trap. Either way changing the way he acts there also fundamentally changes how i would play there the key is suarvis being able to save me from 1 instance of targeting.
I think the real misplay was going into a charles when i still had a suarvis ritual on the field. He could have went to the Battle phase and get rid of it but i think he wanted to try to end me there because I kept coming back like a boomerang.
@ Prometean activation is okay, and sauravis activation is ok, but I mean is the action after that. After you activate Sauravis, they should play imperm to Skull Guardian.
@ and if they activate imperm instead prometean, they still can activate prometean after lo summon from the grave.
@ So, no. The misplay is not because they didn't knwo Sauravis is hand or not.
Win more = cards that don’t help you combo, but are good when you dump them onto the field after your combo is finished
I know the numbers for Harpie's feather storm are just an example, but they make no sense 😂 How can Feather storm improve win rate by 20% when you only have a 12.5% chance to open it. I guess it makes sense exclusively in the case of a thrust package? If you are running thrust I will admit playing 1 greedy win-more card can then become worth it. Main deck Thrust is definitely on the decline in the tcg though thanks to Dominus.
Your 100% right - and i didn't mention or make it clear that its the math where your win ratio changes only when the card is seen and thats why i wanted to highlight 12.5% and 15%. Because otherwise if we dont see the trap or ogre theoretically the WR should stay at the 65/55%. so only if we see the trap in the example should our win rate change. But then realistically the WR as a whole for just putting it in the deck should change it from like 65/55 to something like 67%/54% or something small like that. I really like your comment because it brings up a very important point and helps me improve my explanations and how to improve in the future. Thank you!
I love win-more cards. Especially in master duel, since you can play an infinite number of times, compaired to let's say locals. Even if the deck is 10% less consistant on the first turn, if it makes my grind game twice as strong it is not only more fun but actually improves the power of your win rate. If the consistency to power ratio is too bad, then we have a win-more card that doesn't win you more games. Those cards should just be called bad cards XD Ok now I'm watching the video because your informational quality combined with the nerdiness of the explanation is both helpful and entertaining to watch
Yes your explanation is probably one of the BEST ONES here. Exactly there is a really big difference between the win-more cards and they are just bad cards. They really should be called "lose-more" cards lol and be difference from a win more card that actually helps the win rate when it is out. The problem as evidence in my comment section is that everyone has their own personal definition of win-more & i try to cover the various types and definitions and now it becomes an English Class instead of fun math lol :D
@ makes sense
I'm confused. I thought Win-more referred to a card that, if you were to be in a board state to let it resolve, you were already winning and therefore would prefer to see something else.
yes, that is generally what "win more" refers to, a card that is only good when you're already winning, but bad when you're behind or at parity. it does not just refer to a card that has a high win rate when activated/summoned.
Sounds like it's just a poor definition of what a "win more" card is, something that's a tech card run at 1 because it isn't "always" going to be getting used but that you want to have for specific matchups aren't really the case. People talking about archetypal traps most likely aren't talking about Blackout or Feather Storm, they're thinking more of cards like Super Quantal Mech Sword Magnalayer or Scareclaw Alternative or The Six Shinobi, cards that have complete blowout effects but that don't actually further your game state to bring out a win. Heck, Six Samurai is full of "win more" cards and their legacy support tends to push it further into being a "win more deck" by focusing more on getting longer and longer solitaire combos without addressing Six Sam's actual weak points. A win more card is one that requires investment into the opportunity cost that will overpower its impact on the game. It's usually a card that has an opportunity cost that outweighs its payoff in most scenarios so you wouldn't make it unless you're so far ahead it doesn't even really matter. Like in the "case study" you have to ask, "If instead of going into Charles, the Snake-Eye deck went into Apollousa?" To get out the Infernoble cards requires both restructuring a Snake-Eye deck and making its end board overall less sticky.
people that say win more have no idea what a grind game is
win more cards don't insure victory until you've met your deductible. secret village is the best example i can think of. also cards that draw post-combo like folgo & fallen paradise
Misnomeaner😂
You should do when your doing this math is what call. Which your deck struggle more with. Like if tenpai is your worst match up, play more going first. But your deck lack extenders play more going second. Like in master duel something I move away from was triple tactic. Because going first it was dead if my opponent didn't have a hand trap, the decks I had it didn't have the highest amount of extenders so card draw didn't matter, and going second my opponent would wait till I commit to a play making what I do with it extremely limited. So what I switch it for was snatch steal. Nothing on going first, but going second I can use it as bait or keep the threat if that is more valuable.
whoever said these archetypal traps are winmore is an idiot, they do not require any real significant setup, it just requires you to run the deck... which also searches the trap, you don't even have to run the cost of drawing it
Very true. The only real "cost" of playing the card is the 12.5% chance it ends up in your hand going first potentially hurting your combo or the 15% chance its in your hand going 2nd clogging your options to break you opponents board. And even then most modern archetype trap cards have some kind of utility factor that mitigates the amount of pain you would feel if you draw it.
@JessePerezStrategyGaming exactly, I'd say this video is more about ppl misunderstanding what a win more card is rather than win more cards being good, although i do believe there's a place for some winmore cards that are actually win more (inconsistent/costly setup which should win you the game by itself with hopefully huge rewards)
I really like your vídeos, helps me a lot at making decks, Could you make a video on how to make a trap deck?
So there are various diffrent kinds of trap decks we can make that vary between sytles. Stun, Control & even combo trap decks are all on the table. What kind of trap deck are you into and what kind of style? Do you want long drawn out matches Paleozoic might be the call. If you want more midrange control then we can consider Eldlich & Lab. or if you want quick matches then more stun & floodgate decks could be considered like fossil dyna & inspector boarder stun. So maybe a video on how to build for all three could be something but I would have to paint such a wide brush I might miss something then just honing in on a particular style.
@@JessePerezStrategyGaming My playing style has always been midrange, I've been playing eldlich for a long time and I've tried several trap decks, but lately I've been testing some crazy mixes because I got bored with eldlich or labrynth, like centur-ion/white forest trap deck, which basically I make my combo, I use the effects of my monsters and if I run out of interruptions I catch opponents off guard with ice dragons prison or daruma karma canon. So my question is whether it is possible to make a deck that focuses on traps even if the monsters on the field don't benefit as much. because at the same time as I love playing centur-ion, I'm completely addicted to cards like daruma karma canon, torrential tribute and ice dragons prison lol
Haven't watched the video yet But my man has the Keycard 03 theme in his intro, and I gotta respect that.
That last duel was beautiful, I love watching good players turning a game around that even if I started out with the same hand I wouldn't get 10% of the progress of breaking the field
If Galaxy/Photon decks ever get a rise in stats it's all because of my sorry ass OTKing people in ranked
Galaxy has the best artwork of the OTK decks - never once minded losing to them as their boss cards look majestic as heck.
@@JessePerezStrategyGaming True that! The deck is just a bit complex to fuly optimize sadly :/
What is that? Did I just watch a Video about win more cards for 30min and that guy is able to only mension 1 one win more card (pot of avarace) in the whole Video and its one that allready no one Player singen 10 years To be clear a win more card, is a (by normal means) NON-SEARCHABLE card, that can only help you, when you allready did your Decks thing Most Archtyple traps and ALL Fieldspells are searchable and usually played only once per deck, thus you can search it, when you need it, so they are Part of your endboard and dont brick your hand, because you dont draw them often And win more cards have NOTHING to do with only being good, when you go first/second
This also could be a great definition as well. I could go over some of the cards that meet that criteria too that are commonly played. With this definition in mind would you say something like Talents & thrust are win more? I also forgot to leave put insane alternate win condition cards too can be considered "win more" because sometimes you have to jump through crazy hoops to accomplish their conditions we would have won earlier anyways.
@JessePerezStrategyGaming Well no Thrust and Talents are cards that dont care if you did successfully do your Decks thing. While they feel like win more cards, when your deck did the thing, they are way better when your Deck didnt do the thing, because they might help you to do your thing (or Talents can also mess up the opponent) Yes they wont help you, when the Rest of your hand is shit, but most of extenders wont
As a diamond 2 master duel player who plays infernoble Knights i can say with certainty that infernoble can play through a million hand traps. Id say isolde is the win more card lol
Isolde is needed to play through handtraps. The deck is still functional without it, but much worse.
@aurora________ not really I mostly use my Isolde to bait imperma or veilers if possible. With so many tools to search a warrior or special a guy is the strength of the deck imo
As someone who plays Infernobles, that was the most bizarre Infernoble combo I have ever seen. 😂😂
To me, Win-More cards are more appropriately called greedy cards. The cards that require a more specified game state but can increase your win chance if the conditions are met. In the current game, most traps outside of impermanence are win-more because most games are decided based on whether player two breaks player one's board. This makes traps relatively useless going second, even the strong ones like Solemn Judgment.
@@Knightmare0259 i like this definition alot! I felt like their are alot of cool cards i could have went into with this. Whats your take on alternative win condition cards with crazy scenarios to win? I feel like they might be able to fall under this branch of thinking too.
I kinda feel this way if I was to define it also.
I just went through every single video you’ve released and disliked every single one. The clickbait is unreal
I'm always looking to improve as a content creator so feel free to let me know where you think i failed to deliver. I'll always try to improve. For example, please take a look at my first ever yugoh video on "How many starters should you run" The video had a bunch of audio issues and other suggestions. I took them into consideration and def was appreciated at all the help. And I think my videos have come a long way since. So if there's something just not matching or needs improvement like I need to maybe start with the math or jump into X or Y faster please let me know. In any event thank you for watching. I appreciate all feedback positive and negative. + & - Beause we can't have addition without subtraction 😀
a fun story in response to the "gate guardian bragging rights" part of the video: back in the day when i used to play Pokémon VGC, we had this (now shut down) website called VGCStats where people sent every tournament (so all massive regionals but also all tiny locals) results and it would calculate the amount of championship points earned with any individual pokémon that was present on a topping team. at some point the top players decided they wanted to put as many unviable weaker pokémon on the vgcstats site as possible, by spending one of their 6 teamslots on one of these weak pokémon and basicly playing and topping tournaments with a team of 5.
A good example of win more cards are both Memento Traps, Fracture Dance and Cranium Burst. Both are searchable throughout the combos, and both can be switch upon depending on the meta.
"Win more" is short for "wins by more, when you would've already won". You seemed to do analysis on what "wins more games" and deck power. These are all different things. Sure, you made the point feather storm was "wins more games" (therefore not win more), but the rest of the video was bizarre. Ra in a ra deck is the win condition, not win more. If you don't summon him, you lose. Infernoble knight isn't win more, it's a deck with a powerful going 1st end board inherent to its require combo pieces. Difficult activation requirements have nothing to do with if something is "win more". If something helps you win games you wouldn't have already won, they aren't "win more" Overall, you seemed very confused as to what "win more" means.
Yes 100% - I was going and trying to cover the various definitions that were laid out by the community all have their own definitions. For example, Another type of win more cards could the alternative win condition cards. The ones that have you jump through a million hoops to win we could have already won through the more traditional means.
@@JessePerezStrategyGaming There is one definition of winmore and it is exactly what that guy said. A win condition =/= winmore.
